New Portrait Gallery

Greetings Cagers! As part of this month's update, Red the Rogue and Taurus Daggerknight cleaned up our portrait gallery, and we have moved it to this website. You can now scroll through portraits ad-free! Link is in the header navigation.

Many portraits were removed as part of the cleanup process (don't worry, there's still over 1000 to choose from). When we first added the Kemo Bio, we uploaded large sets of images to give people variety. Since then, we've moved to adding portraits character by character. Somewhere in the mix we ended up with a lot of duplicates; these have been removed, along with portraits which we didn't think had been used, were visually redundant, and/or were violating our guidelines.

If you were using a portrait and it is nowhere to be found post-update, please feel free to resubmit it! If it is within guidelines, it will go back in with the next update. Our current guidelines are as follows:

• Images that are Not Safe for Work will be denied, including depictions of genitalia or provocative imagery.
• Duplicates of images already in the gallery will not be accepted.
• No Photoshopped images of real people or photography.
• No images with exessive props that are non-sensical for the setting (i.e. machine guns).
• No images with a mostly abstract or otherwise non-descriptive view of the character (i.e. symbols, letters, a book).
• No character or player names should be seen on the portrait. Artist signatures are fine.
• Images mainly drawn in an eastern or "anime" style will be less likely to be added.
• Images with rough pixelization that detracts from the overall image will be less likely to be added.
• Only one portrait per character. Replacements are fine.
• Portraits are in 512h x 256w pixel dimensions.
• Any other factors contributing to an image not being approved will be discussed in detail.

As before, you can submit any portrait you would like added to the gallery here.

Previously we made exceptions if the image was commissioned for your character. Unfortunately, this led to an increased inconsistency in the visual tone and confusion about the guidelines, so we will not be doing so going forward.
