So it's taken me a few weeks, but at the next update we should have my new, improved summons tables. Information about them can be found on the SCoD Wiki at the following locations:

Summon_Creature_I-IX
Gate
Epic Gate

Currently, I've remade the tables for the standard summons for Wizards, Sorcerers, Clerics, and Favored Souls. Other classes' summon tables remain the same for now, although I do plan on updating the summons for Druids and Rangers in the near future, as well as working on the class-specific summons. However, that's going to be after a few projects that have priority, but I think everybody should enjoy the results of this, as the primary purpose was to give flavor based on alignment, while avoiding the current issues with "Good is better at this level".

Sounds neat; I'm anxious to try that out. Thank your for your good work !

Question; will the demonologist feature, the +2 outsider HD, now work with Gate and Epic Gate with that new system ? Same question for Augment Summon.

Augment Summon and Summoning Mastery do NOT work with Gate or Epic Gate, only with the Summon Creature spells.

They all look awesome :) Might even pick up my demonologist again.

Shame on the Augment Summoning and Summoning Mastery though...

//Last I checked the AI on the Demonologist Incubi gets kinda confused. Not sure if its gonna use melee or ranged. Disable melee and it just stands around when engaged etc. Would also be neat if it got level based feats, and not just class ones. Plinking away at range for 3-10 dmg in the Abyss is not great.

These spells look awesome by the way, it should be mentioned over and over again ;)

Is that as intended? If not can we please fix that?

Also, the wiki states, "Durations have been increased for the lower level spells. Summon Monster 1 has its duration extended to 20(?) minutes per caster level and for each increasing level of spell this multiplier is reduced until Summon Monster IX has no(?) multiplier."

Can I get it spelled out exactly what the new durations are for each tier of Summoning spell after the first?

Actually, that's not new, I just copy-pasted that over from the previous entry. The durations have been extended for quite some time. As for the gate spells, they're not supposed to be effected by those feats, because (in PnP) they're not summoning spells, they're transportation spells with a summoning feature.

However, because I'm such a nice tentacle monster, I went and looked at the details in the summon script for durations; this is all working off a base duration of Caster Level +3 rounds.
  • Summon I: * 20
  • Summon II: *10
  • Summon III: *5
  • Summon IV: *4
  • Summon V: *3
  • Summon VI-IX: *2
So, for instance, a 20th level character casting Summon III will have their critter on-hand for (20+3) *5, or 115 rounds, while their Summon IX will persist for (20+3) *2, or 46 rounds. Gate also is extended to last this long, while Epic Gate lasts a fixed 40 rounds regardless of level.

Have the spell descriptions themselves been edited to reflect the new durations?

I thought I recall there being an issue with the aforementioned change (previous to these changes I mean) in duration not being reflected in the spell's description.

EDIT:
Please do not assume I do not appreciate the changes! I do. I just want to know all the nitty-gritty bits.

If we are on the topic of spell descriptions... Not sure Mechanus Cannon reflects its true power. In no way does that boom boom do 30d3 dmg, since I just saw someone pummel a few poor demons for over a hundred damage.
