We've noticed there's some lag issues on the new server, and we're investigating it. Hopefully it's just some tweaking required to get it to run smoother.
Disregard this if certain spells have voice even with no voice pack selection:
Could the lag be influenced by a database transfer/cross-over/ or query problem? Pretty sure I had no voice set for my current and now it's got some casting voice.
Maybe it's a naive way of thinking, but why don't we revert to the old server until things are solved ? It's plainly unplayable on the new one. Even keeping it at roleplaying.
Well for one thing since we can't solve these issues without players on running the scripts that cause problems... We had the new server up for a week without seeing any problems with it before we let players in.
It might need a few days to iron out the worst kinks, but I'm confident it will be good after that.
One thing I've noticed is that the lag is relatively consistent many times today. Normally you'd get rubber banding/ lag spikes with typical lag. To me this would suggest that something is filtering or running each time to produce this effect. Perhaps a thread/process priority issue or such--log in/log out maybe?. You can often predict where you will be with the time lag of x seconds (not sure the exact number, but it seems a regular delay quite often that extends for a while).
I don't have insight to the actual server, so I can only talk symptoms.
Aye, it seems to be coming every ten minutes or so, for about 4-5 minutes.. the latency can last nearly two full minutes during that 4-5 minute period.
Currently we think a lot of it is related to pathing, how players and monsters move. We're not exactly sure why this would gotten worse with a upgrade of everything involved, but we're working on it.
