Hey there :D

New player on the server here, and browsing the enormity of the threads here did only yield partial answers to my questions, so I figured I'd ask the questions directly.

Though to get started, I'll begin by saying that this PW and the plethora of options across the board, is absolutely mindblowing :blink:
I can't even begin to imagine the work that must have gone into it, but it really is awesome, as in "awe"-some :metal: :metal:

But on to the points:

1)
After testing out various races/classes, I've settled into the two giant-races(Fire and Frost), but even after extensive searching(quite literally hours!), I still couldn't find a straight answer in regards to appearance(at char creation) and armor/weapon options.
I digged around and found a post stating that fire giants had two possible armor variations(plate) and Frost giants the same but also two helmet variations.(Using the changer in the OOC-room)
But the post was several months old, so the validity might be compromised.
How many armor visuals are there when it comes to giants? Only the visual that comes standard when you create the char? Or does the avatar show for example plate when you equip it as such?
Same for weapon visuals?

TL;DR:
Can you alter giant armor/weapons the same way a "normal" char can or are you locked into the starting appearance.(Because of coding issues Id imagine)

2)
There dosent seem to be alot of options to change their apperance at char creation. Basically only hair and skin colour for fire giants and quite literrally NONE for frost giants?! Is this a coding issue or am I just too dense to see the forest because of all the trees? :banghead:

3)
I found a post stating that the giant racial prc was first available from level two onwards, but I seem to be able to pick it right off the bat :blink:
Again, the post was rather old, so that could have been changed since then.

4)
Are there giant shields or do they simply use regular ones?
As well, do armor/weapons for them drop as loot or are you stuck enchanting the OOC-room one's?

I think that was all for now. That turned into a much longer post than expected, so sorry about the wall of text.

And many, many thanks for any and all help from any of you. :thumbs: :thumbs: :thumbs:

Cheers

Howdy,

There aren't many (I think just the same as in the base game) models for giants because there aren't a whole lot many 3d model makers in NWN2 who'd also feel inspired to make specific giant appearances. Same applies to a lot of less popular races. Giants are archetypically NPC race, the kinds which usually don't need a whole lot of customization.

And if you can pick it right away, then I guess you can! Although I'm not convinced that you should, you might want to pick anything else at level 1 to have actual profiencies.

There's no giant shields, so they use the normal ones. Giant weapons do exist though.

Also generally speaking wiki is more up to date than old threads.http://sigil-nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Sigil_NWN2_PW It's not always correct, but anyone can fix it, so it's usually fairly accurate, unless it's copy pasted blindly.

Hi and welcome!

Unfortunately giants have a very limited range of visual options. The choices you saw are indeed the only ones, and armors only have about two possible visuals each. Weapons do have all the same customization as is available to other races though, so there's that.

As for giant weapons, they can use the same weapons everyone else uses (With less hands. So they can use a greatsword in one hand, for example) and there are a few Giant Weapons which giants and other large rages wield two-handed, though there are not many of them in the loot table (They can be crafted/enchanted though). Giants use the same shields as everyone else.

1) You can use the armor appearance changer in the mirror room to change your giant armor appearance. The old option was - to buy a giant plate at the merchant at the ooc room.

3) Yes. Its a bug with the requirements. Somehow the game recognices your BAB when you have taken a class but doesnt if you go back.

Hey all and thanks a million for your great replies. Much appreciated :D :D

Though I do have a few follow up questions if you all don't mind :P

First;
So I'm regards to changing one's giant armor. One can just buy a regular sized full plate and then modify it in the OOC-room? It's not required to either buy the giant-specific one from that dude or make your own giant armor?

Second;
Reading up on crafting skills on the wiki, it clearly states that in order to craft anything using the "special materials", one would need the feat "skill focus" in whatever you'd try to craft. Is this really true or something that has since been left out? Just trying to get my feat selection in order and Id hate to dump points in a crafting skill and not be able to use it to its fullest potential.

Third;
After running about three failed giants(massed up feats in the first, skills on the second and simply hating my name in the third :banghead: , I've finally gotten a nice frost giant going by the name of Baalthazor Frostsong. :clap:
Though after having gotten my ass handed to me for more than two hours first in undersigil and since by the khaastas, I was in a foul mood and just wanted to get some momentum going again.
Alas, in my anger, I just proceeded to run through both the bazaar and the undersigil with little to no regard for my surroundings.
Resulting in me a little while later, finally paying attention to my chatbox, where several attempts at engaging me in rp had been made.(I guess a giant frost/snow covered side running by in all haste tends to draw attention :P )
To all those who tried to engage mein rp, I'm really sorry for not even picking up on it, but I was seriously steaming(irl!)and just wanted to recover from what was essentially two hours and alot of xp/jinks burned accomplishing nothing...
