Faction Theme Days...
So I've started to re-working on the Faction Theme Days now that I have some time again, and for those that don't know what it's about at all:
- Theme days once per month for each faction that are non-DM dependant, but idea/inspiration giving for players of what to do those days.
- DMs might sometimes work by them if they don't have any better ideas for the day also ;)
- Certain more active things might have separate times for EU and US times (like auctions) so different timezones don't feel so left out.
Athar:
- Turn faithful out of their faith open preaching in public/speech/lecture in streets or Civic Festhall lecture room or similar place. Maybe sharing notes on the streets, ya know? One of those Religious things, except against religion kinda.
Believers of the Source:
- Create a master piece (crafting either mechanically or RPwise something extraordinary), being rather crafting/creation based faction after all.
Bleak Cabal:
- Tied to other factions events, convince others of the pointlessness of their beliefs/doings. Dates set to same days as other factions?
Doomguard:
- Create a riot or similar mischievous matter that helps towards the decay of multiverse. Re-thinking something less direct decayish and more of "giving ammunition" type deal.
Dustmen:
- Day of Living funerals for members, so they can become closer towards their faction.
Fated:
- Taxation day, those living in Sigil needs to pay taxes and all, up to 50 gp, players aren't forced to pay and only up to 50 per character, not per tax collector per character.
Fraternity of Order:
- Two days in month when trials are handled? Incase there's such matters.
Free League:
- As Free League upholds the Great Bazaar, this would be nice day to handle monthly major auctions in Great Bazaar. Indeps makes up a time for the great auction and everyone wanting to come there comes there to sell and buy their wares.
Harmonium:
- Harmonium is rather passive faction in the end and it'd be more towards upkeeping the peace by guarding other factions theme days / preventing others mischief.
- Glory Parade of Harmonium?
Mercykillers:
- Tied to Fraternity of Orders trial days, Mercykillers make the punishments... be it wyrm or prison time. Prison time would require Mercykillers be in the prison with the prisoner in case of PCs, so they're not just left to rot there.
Revolutionary League:
- Anarchist meeting... being how difficult it is to find out other Anarchist members, this would be great way to get them in same place.
Sign of One:
- Change something in your enviroment? (people / object / place)
Society of Sensation:
- Day of Sensation, fill sensory stone with one of each senses again. (smell, seeing, hearing, feeling and taste)
Transcendent Order:
- Dancing lessons / day?
Xaositects:
- Anything related to chaos and creating it, perhaps tied to other factions theme days and trying to use those times to create/observe chaos.
...
PS. I'll be using calendar system to put dates for these after I've polished them.
As I get more ideas I'll be updating this, if you have ideas, feel free to sling them here. What I have mostly been thinking is passive, non-DM requiring player inspiring ideas while remaining within faction philosophy, but giving something special to do.
These would be mostly once per month, unless separately informed.
So, how do you feel about?...

Doomguard could have a inter-faction free for all of some sort, open to all comers, winner taking a treasure of some grotesque nature.
Xaositects could have some sort of Hell's Night and run around setting things on fire just to see what happens... Of course Revolutionary League might be all up for helping them out.. So would Doomguard, in fact everyone of a non-stable nature would probably love something like that. Release the Elementals! Fireball everything with an insurance policy! It'll be great! Hardheads.. RUN! :P

SanguineOrchid comes with a DM-Stitch(es) stamp of approval for mischief :P
However, this makes her a lovely target for MY mischief :P
Back on topic, Mr Otyugh brings the spirit of the factions more to light. We have been trying and thinking how to bring the factions more up front and have them more prominent in rp :)
I think this is a wonderfull idea and potential start ;)

I'd 'planned' to organise some Sensate gatherings based on an 'open door-come-and-see-what the faction is about' events 'An evening of the Senses', all welcome focusing on a sense at a time. Buuuuut....RL events and timing has not quite had me pull my finger out and sort those yet, there would have been build up RP and others involved in helping ICly to coordinate too :), has to be on the back burner for a little while longer I'm afraid.
As for the rest, sounds fun! Now I just need to have a character for EACH faction or opposing faction to join in! heh *jokes*

The Fated have a tax collecting fee, or do you think they'll collect the taxes for free?
The tax and the fee are not the same, but both will fall down on you just the same.
And the taxpayer knows, it is better to pay soon than end up poor.

Alrighty, so I'll continue polishing this as response seems to be good ;)
And I'll also be writing more detailed calendar events for each with some ideas slinged for everyone interested in looking at those generally, when I have the said factions events polished.

For those who don't know which calendar system O was referring to, it's this one here:
http://www.deathstar.org/~krlipka/ps/th ... ilcal.html
Check it out. You can refresh the page to know what day it is in Sigil. =)
As to the Xaositect, they have a special night (or two, or none!) every year on their month called "The Surprise!" Read about it in the link above.

Actually I was referring to forum calendar system <.< . . . but that's nice too!
*edit* Upgrades:
Bleak Cabal
- Remains occuring on same dates as each other events, but divided to two parts.
1) Bleakers will roll 1d20 each of the event days against deep depression (I'll make more detailed sign for it later), if they fail, they'll be too depressed to do much of anything unless given convincing philosophical argument to continue.
2) Convince other factions and their friends of the pointlessness of multiverse.
Doomguard
- Pick one of the following...
a) Sunder a magical item/trinket
b) scatter 500 gold to crowd (in attempt to cast greedy against each other -> decay)
c) Destroy a building
d) Prevent a Dabus from working (or rather keep them from working).
Transcendent Order
- Tournament! Gotta put the arena on use otherwise. More detailed guidelines, options etc. added later on.
