+1 for non-visible cloaks.

Because, man... I hate wearing one.

Not really only one Ceremorph, I see it too and have been thinking it as well. Though I understand the other side as well.

invisible cloaks I find less silly then helms in nwn1 and nwn2.

blacksmith "sir would you like this helm?"
jimbob "nay that cloak will help keep things form impaling me better".

Helms typically give +1 to concentration so I guess having things bounce off their head only are slightly less annoying with a helmet. While a cloak actually keeps blades at bay from stabbing folk. My only conclusion is all monsters want to spank players and aim for their hinies.

This is not a comment on Scod its a comment on nwn1 and nwn2. Scod actually has helms with deflection ac on them just less common then cloaks with it. Unlike the orginal game were wearing a helm was just to complete a look or to help you wizard cast spells. Which I would agree you would stay smarter not getting maces to the face yet would make it harder to cast with them little bitty eye holes.

So helms are silly in nwn :P

This argument is terrible. It's like the ones people have made to not have a 'Show Helm' option in games. It's an aesthetic choice. To be frank, I've seen people use the exact same argument to try and mock the people asking to have an option to not show helms in Dragon Age, and I wanted to smack 'em one. :P

I for one would prefer not to mechanically penalize people for wanting to make a certain aesthetic decision. Note that you can make boots and gloves already look just like bare gloves and feet. You can already make invisible shields.

EDIT: This was in response to a quoted post by Ceremorph that has now been deleted, along with the quotation in this post.

All of my own posts on this topic have been redacted, as I have no desire to engage in pointless arguments on such a relatively unimportant topic. If I feel that I need my opinion to be heard, I'll discuss this on the DM forum and avoid such things.

Players, please don't take this as a refusal on my part to budge on this issue (to sum up, I personally can see a purpose in invisible cloaks and bare hands/feet, but not in other invisible gear. This is one personal opinion; End of story). The staff is always interested to hear what our players are thinking, and by no means is it to be assumed that my word is the final word on anything. If it were, Shadowdancers would be gone by now.

Generally (from what I remember in the planning stage) SCoD was supposed to err on the side of more options available to the players rather than maximum "realism", so that people had more ways to RP interesting things which may not have been foreseen by the vanilla NWN2 character system. In that light, I think enabling invisible cloaks/shields/whatever would be in the spirit of the server, allowing people a couple more options to get the look and feel they want for their character despite limitations by the engine. Obviously that comes at the price of all sorts of silliness being possible, including full plate armor that looks like a tiny negligé type garment.

As an example, if someone wants to play a "duelist-ish" character but does not want to actually use the Duelist class, they can build something else that uses a shield anyway (which the Duelist class can not) but make the shield invisible.

I already have a non visible item on Dave. The tower shield, I rp it is his wrist plate. Anyway, meh. I placed my vote.
