I didn't mean for my post to come across as a complaint, but rather a suggestion which would benefit all characters, not just mine in particular. And just because one of my characters has spoken to Anthriel about what he knows to do with the Fey plot, does not mean all of my characters have been informed in such a manner. Unless I have to log in on a dozen different alts to receive the same information from said 8-10 well informed characters.

I'm not the DM running the plot, so I've not idea what the intentions are on where this plot is being taken. And I think I can safely say that the majority of Sigils populace reads the SIGIS as a bit of 'light entertainment' as opposed to a truly factual source of information. Thus, no, I don't think people would be running around like headless chickens due to one article in the SIGIS, but they might begin to look over their shoulder every so often, or start throwing more insults at the local Fey denizens as some Fey power thought it was a good idea to mess with Sigil. Is that an unreasonable assumption as to the millions of non Planeswalker berks that are hanging around doing factory jobs in Sigil who read the SIGIS?

Yes, everyone can, but that doesn't mean anyone involved in the plot has or is planning to do so, as I said, it is more for the ease of disseminating wide sweeping plot lines amongst the entirety of the playerbase without everyone on the playerbase having to resort to looking at forum threads which are, as Lucadia has said,
wrote:Pcs stopped posting in the event thread some time ago and just been letting things flow ic.
Letting things flow ICly is of course the best way to keep RP moving along without resorting to forum threads dominating how RP is dictated, however.

Lots of players are from different timezones, as I'm sure we're all aware of. The SIGIS is the best way to communicate such events ICly, to every timezone, without resorting to the forum.
Sometimes it just isn't possible for people with busy schedules to meet up with the certain characters who are well informed with the event.
This suggestion to use the SIGIS more could only be beneficial and only takes 1 article to be written after a Fey event. It doesn't have to be exhaustive, or very well written, since the SIGIS has no quality standards. Is that really so much to ask for a very significant quality of life improvement for the entirety of the servers players who wish to involve themselves?
wrote:It adds more unnecessary "keep updated" work for builders and event makers.
If there are a number of players who are worried that server events of this nature are not being communicated effectively to the majority of the playerbase, is it really 'unnecessary work'? Rather, I would say it is necessary to get as many players involved in something that is supposedly effecting the server as a whole.
The option of adding an NPC would be extra work that is not very necessary giving the SIGIS is already implemented and solves the same issue, but in an IC manner rather than an OOC manner. I think most players know there is a Fey plot occurring right now, but not necessarily ICly.

How is this even an issue currently, it has just been pointed out publicly in the very thread this is an OOC section for? IC characters should have a sufficient amount of knowledge to make IC inquiries with that alone. And public attacks usually accompanied by serverwide shouts can hardly constitute as secret. x) Just because nobody felt like recording them to SIGIS, doesn't make it DM favoritism, that's just absurd.

The issue is, many PCs don't know. It's not a major topic of conversation in Khazeet's or anything.

Hell, until Argent talked with Morthos the other day, IC Morthos had no idea that souls were being stolen. He just knew that the Mercykillers and a few other factions had been fighting the Fey, and that it was significant. (Which is why he wouldn't view the actions of the Doomguard as being minor.) Now he wants to help Argent, because well...the Raven Queen becoming a god is something Athar would like to avoid for obvious reasons.

What should be happening is there needs to be more stuff related to the Fey Conflict both in-game and on the forum here. Otherwise, it just ends up as a blip on the radar. It's SUPPOSED to be significant, but there needs to be more presence for the series of events.

I was more thinking about using this thread than the Sigis.

I split this from the Hall of Speakers thread because it has spiraled off in a direction which really has nothing to do with the Hall.

Or, you know, the fact that the one person who's been caught in the middle of it since day one LITERALLY went around asking for help for weeks, sharing info with everyone (Including Harmonium, whom she didn't trust at the time), and almost no one gave two shits. This has been going on for months, and the info was made excruciatingly public right up until it seemed like no one cared.
No one has anyone to blame for not knowing what's going on except themselves.

Barring, of course, new players, and events happening when players simply weren't online. But that's no one's fault at all. That's just unfortunate timing is all.

There are Gods more powerful than the Raven Queen or Pale Prince which want to do this. All demons in existance want to do this AND WORSE, and yet we don't have a permanent war against them in Sigil? I think what Hydra is really trying to say, is that it seems as if whilst your character may know the extent of these Powers desire to rek Sigil, there are a number of players / NPCs which have no idea. Which is the real issue.

Perhaps a better idea, as to not clog up the Hall of Speakers OOC thread with more talk of the Fey plot, simply have the SIGIS as a tabloid, print a load of over the top journalist articles about the Fey causing mayhem in Sigil. You know, bad news sells, and if you can blow it out of proportion, it sells really well. If the DMs simply took 5 seconds to make an article in the SIGIS after a Fey event, then not only would rumour mongering become a thing (which is good considering the sources of the SIGIS are questionable at best), but also players would be able to be informed ICly, through a rather underused but potentially very valuable RP hook.

Because everybody knows there are 999 other arch villains wanting the same thing, and no one bother unless they have proofs intentions are turning into actions ?

The Sigis was used for a long time. the Harmonium was oppressing fey in the city. There was a lot things going on. It just gets tedious to have keep doing it or reintenirating the information over and over while every new pc will pretend it dont affect them. Whats wrong with pcs just asking what the chant is? Since it as brought up /at/ the Hall, that is your rp hook to start looking around

and after giving your pc a massive information dump. I dont see where your complaint is coming from. Theres not a reason for every dm to have step in and say oh hey this is going on. thats up to us players to look.
