There are multiple chars who think they are special. Also, the fact that you think levels mean you should comply is kinda fail. I would be just as likely to treat a level 1 right as I would a level 30 - even though the level 30 can kill me, that's OOC knowledge, and it would be going OOC to comply with him now when 5-6 days ago I laughed at him when he was level 1.

It's allowed, if you don't like it your chars don't have to comply. At least unlike some servers theres no 'Half-vampire half-dragon lesbians who are Ao's love child' :D

And even moreso, RP dictates things. People will create a player to act as a servant or henchman of someone they know in RL or have had good RP experiences with before. Characters can and will rise to positions of authority within factions due to occurrences in-game, and other people who play that faction may defer to them IC because they understand their characters will defer in a similar situation. But I doubt that any of our players feel that they must obey someone simply because of their level, and in four months as a player and DM have never seen this occur; I would in turn ask if you perhaps misunderstood a situation that you were not a part of, Blaine.

I thought about bring a character from a previous server over, just so he can be humbled by the fact that all the stuff he earned back their means zilch in Sigil, well, all of it except for his unnatural skill in wielding bullshit. And benefiting from it :o

You don't need dm permission to rp pompous... you don't need dm permission to follow commands of said character... you don't need dm permission to not follow said commands...

You'll notice very quickly how awsome our staff is, allowing near anything with RP reason. :) Also as the many above have said, this is Sigil. In Sigil your former life is just a piece of sand in a desert and no one cares about it. Roll with it, admire the other person or just give them the middle finger and walk off. ^^

PS: <3 you guys.

All in an hour. Gotta love the City of Doors. :o  :plotting:
Wow...

Sounds like a great night of RP. I hope you enjoyed yourself!

Thats fine if youve got permission and/or are a DM, but It wasnt a DM, and i dont even think he was above lvl12. He had abunch of players he was commanding, I dont think they knew better >?<, and had a description like he was from some important leniage. This is fine and dandy to Rp your character like this. But Im used to seeing that only if a player has been there along time, and has permission. Alot of PW have strict rules about this. "Your not a king unless we say you are , ect ect.", and im wondering your policy on that, because ive seen to have missed that part in the rules.
Ceremorph and cryptc have adequately addressed this, but I wanted to touch very briefly on points Vanilla and Railgun made...

IC power comes in many forms. Some individual power does derive indirectly from character level in the form of martial prowess or arcane might. But authority over others is an entirely different form of power and has nothing to do with character level. That is an entirely RPed kind of power and it correlates closely with how RL authority works. Barack Obama is arguably the most powerful person alive not because he has such physical prowess, but because others agree to recognize his authority.

Oh, dear... Please don't get me started!

Good for you!

But it would have been equally good for you to drop to one knee, call him "your highness" and join his coterie. Or to wait until he rounded the corner, then sneak around in shadows and try to slide a blade between his ribs. Or hire some sneaky type to do it for you. Or to call his bluff and duel. Or to call the Harmonium. Or or or or or.... IC conflict FTW!

Stay friendly OOC. Meet people. Have fun. RP! Create! But conflict makes servers interesting...
