I'm amazed that after Scintilla quite graciously and eloquently admitted there were problems, that people want to walk it back and dismiss anyone who ever had a concern.

I'm amazed that I'm not an alcoholic.
(Rob's changing that. Did you know, he was encouraging me to drink at 7am!? Ridiculous.)

I think we're in a good place right now. Anecdotally at least, the rule has been effective at accomplishing what it set out to do and most people have cooled down about it now.
I believe it is fair to say that the ugliness is far behind us, and after reviewing the contents of this thread I can't exactly call its contents an outcry.
I think continuing to go forward from a place of mutual cooperation and understanding is, perhaps, the best thing we can do currently.

While waiting for a lifting of the ruling or other good things so players will log back in. As it is Im more inclinqued to form cliques with people I already know then trying get know somebody new based I dont know what their behavior is along with other social anxieties. People have not cooled down. Just not logging in due the drama.

Player numbers haven't dramatically changed honestly, some fluctuation that can be defined by other factors as well. The server has seen similar fluctuations usually when new games have been released as well. It's probably not the answer people want to hear whom are pro-lingering in OOC room, but well... sorry?
Forming cliques isn't inherently bad, it is infact a very natural behavior, but if forming cliques gets to the point where you're actively declining to meet new people, that's where the issue rises. Of course you can't know if things will turn out good when meeting someone new, but I think that's easily a risk work taking since on the other hand you might be neglecting perfectly fine players whom have done nothing to earn a cold shoulder.
I'm not saying you shouldn't make a stand for your values, but doing so at the expense of others isn't probably going to make much of a case that helps anyone. And that goes for both sides :P

It's Spring break too, who the hell wants to log in and play when it's spring break :D. We can all agree it was a poorly worded announcement and ruling and try to move on yeah?

Ive tried staying out of this discussion as long as I can but, as I see it is still going I feel deep down inside I want to say something.
As both a player and as someone who is part of Sigils...entertainment division, I have both done and witnessed both sides of this argument. I have been one of those players who has loitered in the ooc room shooting the shit and yeah more often the not causing general ooc mayhem with shiny spells and I challenge any long term player of Sigil to deny they haven't either lol, I do agree it has often helped relieve tension between resets and resulted in many funny moments.
Ok, that's that from my players point of view.
Now as an EM, indeed part of the staff that tries to help keep people entertained and happy and engage in events and stories (when i am not indentured with work), I can honestly say i am personally saddened by the fact that anyone would even QUESTION the higher ups decision about loitering and and cluttering up the ooc room. As part of the group that tries to keep Sigils blood going I feel the need to point out that we ask so very very very little of the player base in terms of etiqutte and behavior, and what we do ask is very simple no frills common sense as it is.
Asking people to use the ooc room services if you need them and then proceed in game to roleplay is as far from an unreasonable request as it could get, hell its not even in the same galaxy as unreasonable.
The Dms have asked a very simple thing of us, and as a player I have complied with their decision and i don't loiter as much as I used to unless i'm helping someone in one way or another.
Its a simple effort to use the services we provide people in the ooc room, maybe say hello to the others who are spending a brief time there before heading in game.
I love you all, you all know this, your all a very special electronic family to me but seriously.
The Dms have never been unreasonable in their administration of this server, at the end of the day i want you all to think about that fact before you continue this discussion..
