Two parts to this one. They have use against other players, although their effectiveness will be limited. Just because someone has 32 points of bluff should not mean that basically anything they say will be received as fact as long as they drop a roll after it. However, many of the players here do request the dialog rolls.

As for DMs, that depends entirely upon the individual DM and situation. I personally would ask for them in response to some corresponding attempted player action (calming an angry NPC, or convincing someone to allow you entry to a normally inaccessible location), less likely to need them as part of the actual quest itself (mainly because there's nothing quite so frustrating as to have a planned quest derail because none of the involved players has more than three points in diplomacy and you're wanting a roll of 25 to accomplish the goal!).

I don't care how high your intimidate is-- if you look like a mortal, you will NEVER intimidate a Balor on his home plane.

The sharp objects might work, though.

What about having the heads of two other balors? I'd think that would work well too :P

It isn't just what you have, it's how you use what you have.

On other hand why would anyone carry heads of balors <.< those things must weight a lot and kinda difficult to show. Also balors actually explode on their death so won't actually have a head to show at all in the end ;)

Does every part of the Balor turn to ash in the explosion? Perhaps the head would remain fairly intact.

I'd figure that little would be intact afterwards, also many fiends as far as I know simply melt away to puddle of ooze, disappear to ashes or otherwise corpse destroys itself soon after death.

Well, there's this 9th circle spell that turns you into a big mean demon(or is that devil) thing. This might work...

So, basically I am free to spam those checks, but it doesn't mean that any of them mean something to other players, unless DM says otherwise, which happens rarely?
