1. Create new martial feats and edit existing martial feats to improve them based on combined levels of melee classes.

Ah think this.. done right..would go ah long way towards making folks who feel melee builds need ah boost more happy.

2. Adjust UMD to be a little more selective.

Tha best idea!

But ah lot more selective instead ah just ah little.

3. More UMD locking.

Ah think doin point 2 well outta already handle this... an in all tha right places... an maybe more easily? If ah Warlock er Rogue is able to trick magic items that's fine.. they outta be able ta. That's ah big part ah their class. Ah think Warlocks even got an ability called -deceive item- so.. that's right up their alley. Let everyone else play their classes.

4. Gish-busting.

Uh.. why? Do we hate Gishes now? O.o

Ah'm all fer limiting UMD options but build options outta stay as open as possible. That's part ah tha fun having all these races ta play with and seeing what kinda wacky stuff ya can make.

5. Dedication bonuses.

Eh.. ah guess ya can.. but like 4.. seems like ah lotta work fer just trying ta hurt build options. Ah say let folks build wacky stuff. Broken things.. good er bad.. stuff that don't work.. stuff that's just bizarre. Its ah strange verse out there.. let folks build strange stuff ta play in it. =D

6. Diversification bonuses.

Uh.. don't make -comfort- zones ah necessity an folks wont build fer em? O.o Cause ya just mentioned two things that yer gonna want ta take specifically into consideration when building something ya actually want ta be effective at the end ah the line. If yer putting special challenges in there yer asking folks ta build ta meet em. An that's just fine.. but then don't have issues when folks spend build decisions on meeting those challenge instead ah building fer RP.

7. No, your God of Home and Hearth does not support the Travel domain.

Welp.. ah'd take the Jiggle domain at least cause ah'd wanna tease Woof with it.. but.. um..

Ah think lotsa servers have done this an its come out fer the better. All ah the gods got ah few domains to pick from so it aint that restricting. Aint ah bad idea in RP fer clerics ta stay within them either. Not just this server... but overall its been awhile since ah seen ah cleric actually..uh.. being ah cleric. Ya know.. havin anything ta say about their god to folks er doing their gods work in ah overt way that other folks could look at the cleric an say - Hey its Darla.. that Cleric of Tits McGee.. looket her go..she's doing the good work of er patron."

Course.. ya outta make Tits McGee ah god an ah bet it'd have quite the following around here.. literally an figuratively both.

Ah know two definitions ah that term. One's ah low level character with high level items.. Other aint got much ta do with gaming. Er.. unless yer talking about Talthor.

Curious things about all of these is that usually anything deemed "too powerful" tends to be the reason which is holding changes back, because in making additions, you need to keep the extremes in mind. That is practically exchanging cheese to valid options, rather than "nerfing".

It generally refers to doing something legal but not encouraged by the "rules" or by standard behavior. Since this is a roleplaying server, building purely for power is technically "twinking".

Sorta wondering where ya draw the line between buildin fer power an buildin fer RP? How strong are ya allowed ta be? How much RP ya gotta put into yer build? What counts as RP in ah build? Can you make ah horrendus power build an then not come up with an RP what fits it an play that just fine? How do ya police power building in ah way that aint gonna curtail RP as well?

I think people got confused by the terminology here. If most folks bothered to read the paragraph below this, in context with points #5 & 6, the idea is NOT to destroy all Gish builds. The idea, to me, is to destroy the fun of powerbuilds. You can't force people to stop making powerbuilds, but you can remove the fun in those builds while simultaneously rewarding build that have RP backing to them, which reduces people making powerbuilds as a standard plan.

It's not about "you're too powerful". It's about things like, "What roleplay reason does your Bard/(insert PrC here) have for having 1 level of cleric?". There are people who do things like that, because they pick up Divine Might and then grab Epic Divine Might later. (Works well with bards or sorcs, because EDM adds your Cha mod to damage. It even works well with Spirit Shamans, because of how their Spell DC works.) They're not running around preaching the positive qualities of whatever god they worship or whatever, which allows them to RP as a "lay cleric" of their god. (What's a lay cleric, rapsam?) There are valid RP reasons for most builds, but people need to actually do RP for their taking of the Cleric class to be valid when nothing else about their build screams cleric or divine.
There's folks on this server who don't RP at all. I mean, everything about the server makes it obvious as a RP server, but there's folks whose entire goal is to make a powerbuild. It's like the social aspect generated by RP goes right out the window for them. To an extent, that's fine, because "play how you want". But you have to keep in mind what kind of server you are on and what is the general goal of the server. For SCOD, it's obviously RP.

The correct word is "tweaking", as I recall correctly. "Twink/Twinking" is known to Google as a word used in the homosexual slang.

-edit-
Nevermind, I've just discovered the RpG use...

That's tha goal.. but that aint all there is ta tha server. Sigil's tha only server where ya can play some ah these fun an wacky races. Its neat ta build with em an see whatcha can do. Why not let those folks build an play and enjoy ah major part ah 3.5? And were talking about maybe making rules against that sorta play.. so it aint ah live an let live sorta discussion.

Course ah aint encountered anyone on tha server so far that aint been social. Even if its just group grinding out somewhere like tha abyss. Still enjoyed it quite ah bit.
