Good Aligned Characters

I'm just driving in the point that evil is by far more destructive than good is. And anything else is pretty much absurd. I'm not claiming good characters are perfect, but in comparison to evil entities they are downright saints.

... and the entire chapters in Warriors of Heaves go to the great length how angels almost never itervene directly unless they absolutely have to defend someone. It's rare to actually get a Deva or an Archon into action and killing anything.
It's not even remotely comparable to fiends happily screwing everyone on their path.

More generally destructive yes, but not more dangerous. By it's nature in D&D as altruism, when a good character comes to the point of violence being the only answer they are going to be more effective than an evil character. Whatever they're going after is for
everyone else, and damn whatever happens to themselves.

Just to be clear.. how do we define danger? Dangerous to public health/good/whatever, or capable at fighting? Because if it's the latter, I can shrug at it. If the former, then that's still definitely not the case.

You are correct Mimi. It's perfectly normal for the setting. Though it seems like characters that do things that save their own skins or the things they care about are often construed as 'good guys' because it's the only thing present to resemble contrast. It's a major component of why I'm interested how many actual good characters there are.
Competing to be evil in a setting where it is, at best, going to vaguely be annoying ends up as a silly sort of mustache twirling competition. It would be kind of cool to see a stronger focus plot wise on Law/Chaos. It SHOULD be the more visible dynamic in the setting.

Rainrix may be good because he has repeatedly thrown himself in to bad situations (Often knowingly) to try and help others, with little to no gain for himself (Or even a loss). But at the same time he's currently questioning that himself as it's been brought to his attention that he'd happily kill goblins and other 'evil' creatures... Some times even just for some form of stress relief.
Or there's even some of the company he keeps. Though he tries to avoid taken part in their actions himself.
So... Someone who started out good maybe, and now is questioning a lot of things because of the nature of Sigil and the kind of company he's been exposed to.

Most of the characters I roll up are good aligned, the ones that I regularly pilot are most definitely good. Of course, since there isn't always an opportunity for dashing heroism in regular old RP, they end up being good in the philosophical sense.
Leo, definitely, is the most interesting one of my toons in that regard.

Books like Exalted Deeds are about characters that aren't simply good they're exalted. They take vows of poverty, vows of chastity, vows against drugs/alcohol/touching undead, vows of non violence. They qualify for the template of Sainthood and the prestige class Risen Martyr.
Good alignment isn't restricted to playing the merciful dupe goody two-shoes. Likewise evil isn't always the eater of worlds, the destroyer of souls.
