This made me smile, as from experience this wording can be taken as literal even it was meant to be figurative.

CvC in typical theory is similar levels battling or some agreed RP thing (assassination through story..or w/e). But it can end up being high vs low level when used indiscriminately. Its success or failure is usually no benchmark for any character when it's not an Arena-style PW.

Yes, everyone plays differently. Most start out wanting to be uber, but after you reach 30 in a week (or 2 days) with a few, you soon realize that it's not all that important.

Some like to burn multiple builds to 30 in days, and in contrast, some like to level slowly and RP with little or no grind. If it doesn't impact your personal RP/playstyle....does it really matter?

P.S. Dedication bonuses could add a little more flavor.

Just noticed this...

And... really, dude? lol. It's a RP server. THE FOCUS is RP. Get over yourself.

I guess it's too bad for you that a RP server isn't focused on powerbuilds all d*** day.
How about you 'get over yourself'? What someone has on their sheet is none of your concern, and, since it has absolutely nothing to do with your role-playing experience, it's nowhere near the big deal you keep making it out to be. :beatdeadhorse: The server is not a die-hard role-playing one, people are free to play the way it suits them, and there's no reason why that should change.

Agreed upon conflict RP is something I wouldn't describe as CvC, as both sides are quite clear on the intent/limits and they're doing it to have fun. What I mean is when characters start a conflict with the clear intent of causing some form of damage to another character, without any OOC discussion behind it.

This is for feedback, not flaming other's opinions. [Edit: Also, thank-you Tomekk]

Also I have no idea where you're getting the assumption that I'm using some sort of OP - unkillable powerbuild. Your lack of understanding in this regard is astounding. Infact I play an intentionally nerfed character in a lot of ways. :P

Also what I said is the truth. No one is stopping RP, powerbuilding (that's such a buzz word in this thread - I prefer the term, optimization.) or not. I engage in both. I have my cake, I also eat it.

At any rate. poststructuralism makes a good point on the various types of power that can be acquired here.

And as for my previous comment, All I am saying is that you shouldn't be limiting your own gameplay based on other people's decisions. - not that unreasonable of a statement, no?

On Topic: Lot's of people seem to be in favour of the dedication bonus for pure class archetypes. Does anyone have suggestions as to what these bonuses could be exactly?

Pot. Meet kettle.

Neither of you like when I called Vandole on flaming other opinions by his/her casual disregard for other's viewpoints, did you? You can feel free to criticize others all you want, but statements like "it's not all about RP; too bad for you". That just weakens your argument.

Now, how about we all act like adults, huh?!

You did so in a way that disregarded their opinions. Show some respect.

Do I really have to explain myself again?

I disagreed. - I provided my reasons. Like so many others before me and no doubt after will.

MOVE ON - STAY ON TOPIC P's & Q's

There's also this thing called a private message if you have some sort of personal problem and wish to sort it out - message me, instead of cluttering up this forum for proper debate.

One simple thing, that wouldn't be too hard to do (although it would take time/work), is feats that are only available to...for instance, fighters of level 5 or level 10 or 15. This can be done in such a way that 1) fighters have more options AND 2) you can only select the feat if your fighter CL is 15 or 10 or whatever. Other classes have their own feats of this type. Past level 15, most classes probably would want to advance to a PrC that has synergy with their base class.

That's a mix of #1 and #5. Giving feats as a dedication bonus. This is a good point and one I'd agree with in the case of fighters. There is little reason to be a pure fighter past level 12... So perhaps in the style of Weapon Focus/Specialization, perhaps they can gain Armor Focus/Specialization, or gain access to more powerful feats such as whirlwind attack while ignoring requirements?

Well, I'm still talking things over with Ceremorph, but I'm hoping to be working on a few fighter feats that give more options to fighters. We'll see where it goes from there. /shrug
