Why not a paladin.. I'm strictly a RPer who uses that as logic for builds. In the end there are some classes one just dont dabble in, paladin and monk for example.
There is a reason those have very restricted multiclassing in PnP.
A Favored Soul would have little to no reason to multiclass into cleric, as a Soul already has a closer bond to his/her god than any cleric will ever achieve.
And a Favored Soul of Thor going paladin, would make Thor very angry with his servant as paladins are lawful which is in direct opposition to chaos.
Personally, I find powerbuilds only belonging in a competitive environment, such as a PvP arena server. Not on a RP centered server which is all about character and not having the leetest build.

Not really, more of an jab towards the players who prefer canon domain selection.Tildryn,Apr 27 2010 wrote:
If that was a subtle troll at using non-canon Time domain for a Loki Cleric, cram it. ;)
Anyhow, the Time domain is one of the stronger ones.
But, the Improved Initiative feat, Haste and Premonition spells do not feel off for a priest of Loki. The biggest boon of the domain, Premonition, is just a high caliber damage reduction spell in NWN2. As such it could be role-played as being rather elusive fighter using trickery and boons of Loki to cheat death, and naturally, if a berk is not able to defeat his foe, Loki soon withdraws his boons. :D

Its never what is built its how its rped.
everyone will fail my rules of rp, as will I fail most peoples rules of rp.
There is no rp builds, the term is used typically to say "combat ineffective" or a way to say building a character to a certain obscure standard is better then breaking someone's personal rules of building a character.
If someone rped an old man who has magical talent, openly prays to vecna in hopes to extend his life. Spends time in the bleakers with undead in hopes to figure out its secrets. Tends to go missing down back allies,
Is he a wizard?
Perhaps a Rogue/wizard?
maybe Wizard/palemaster?
or Wizard/palemaster/shadow dancer/ cleric
who knows? who cares?

Luckily here I dont have to PvP if I dont want to... :P
And luckily there is no rule to RP, more than stay IC.
//And for the last lineup of classes... all fine by me as long as the SD aint just that 1 lvl to get HiPS... Cleric is fine to as long as it aint just to get those domain feats.
Gotta wonder if there is actually someone somewhere who RPs an SD, or at least has more than 2 lvls in it
.. doubt it, unless its forced.

monk/sd is typical to go 5 so you can get epic dodge.
does it truly matter if they have 1 level in a class? how does it affect their rp? That is just a personal rule for building. Everyone has personal rules and folks who figure some things are cheesy.
Would you have less respect for someone due to a build even if you enjoy their rp?
Its all very silly. I know I have personal rules for builds, there are things I am comfortable with and not. As anyone is the same. Hardly means that building to my standard makes it a RP build or a better build. Actually building to my standard would make you weaker due to it removes about half the classes.

Actually, with one of my characters, I going to have the full ten levels of it.Ravenous,Apr 29 2010 wrote: Gotta wonder if there is actually someone somewhere who RPs an SD, or at least has more than 2 lvls in itÂ.. doubt it, unless its forced.
Had several characters with similar aspirations, well, I came up more with more interesting character concepts. But I do have that one character that is aiming for Shadowdancer 10.
*Sigh.* I long for my Fighter / Dervish / Shadowdancer / Master Thrower... from PnP.

Selecting Human or Strongheart Halfling as a race helps a bit when meeting the feat requirements of Weapon Master.

Since I actually wont know anyones build I cant let that affect my RP with them. Of course if I knew their build and found it, well cheesy to my standards that would just affect my willingness to PvP. I dont pvp so-called powerbuilds, because well the outcome is predetermined. Cant win :P
And this is from a guy who has had a history of PvPing people twice his lvl because RP made it so..
and on topic.. WM, 5 or 7 levels... 6 is kinda useless IMO... Dropping weapon spez for the 7th lvl in WM is totally worth it.

Weapon master 5 is nice though seven is gold. Never bother with it less you go seven levels past seven is pointless.
20barb 7weapon master is nice
then you have 3 levels left. figure 2 fighter to help meet requirments. and one level of shadow dancer to drive everyone insane. :P
If that is too cheesy then do
barb 22 weapon master 7 fighter 1
taking 7 wm = better crit range
barb 22 = 6/- damage reduction
I would take fighter at level 21 so you can take epic prowess and then put all feats into strength besides thunderous.
here let me show you.
