Fighters also get 16 bonus feats, 5 of which are general selection epic feats. No class gets anything like that except divine champion which gets 5 for 10 levels.
Much rather see some of the weak feats get improved than just add free new ones.
A toned down devastating critical wouldn't bother me either. Maybe the fortitude save or it applies more damage. None the less you don't need much to crit kill my fey psion even if I do have lots of buggy dodge ac. :lol:

Am recently coming to the realization that if I do not powerbuild, I cannot go to the highest level of zones, even with a group.
I would be ALLLLLLL for changes that would make it so I could be competitive/helpful as my current character without rolling him as a powerbuild.
Nerf-batting power builds = more character build roleplay wonkiness allowed outside of just sitting in bazaar . . . being wonky.
For example:
I did everything in my power to break 60 ac with a dwarf fighter.
+5 full plate
+5 deflection
+5 natural
+4 dodge (+6 vs piercing)
+5 heavy shield
+combat expertise
+luck of heroes
+tumble
Nerf bat something, somehow, somewhere. When 50 AC is "meh" on a server where taking a little ecl hit tantamounts to not even needing gear to go toe to toe with a fully geared one . . .
Dunno if any of this is translating well enough, so I will just say:
Yes. Change would be nice.

It is very hard to RP if your character is dead.
And other characters tend to take in stride for rp's sake
"Oh look, he fell down again."
"Respawn, return, splat"

And in regards to why actual rp pvp tends to take place over just rp "conflict"

"Grr."
*rolls intimidate*
Behold ye, fiend! I shall smite you till your back looks like hamburger meat!

"Grr" wins.
And with no judge . . . who is to say whether or not Grr was "better"
When someone is roleplaying an asshat. . . or, rather, a powerbuildt asshat, how do you rp in such a way that you can get his character (or real life himself) to stop being an asshat?
I know I can't, because I am not a powerbuild. And asshats are asshats because asshattery is self-perpetuating. So I just log.
My character ~would~ intervene. But I will not. Ring any bells for other people?

I have to agree that dedication bonuses are the way to go.
Does the current server hurt melee? Nope, not even pure melee. But the current climate does limit options, consider improved whirlwind attack. This costs the most investment of any melee feat yet is without a doubt one of the absolute weakest.
Other example is, every class gives attack bonus. Even low attack classes give 50% their level in base attack. This makes all racial still viable for melee. Casters are more restricted, you need to pray to the dark gods that your favorite race gets combined with your favorite casting type.
