Bah, nothing wrong with a woman with a little meat on her bones. And very few veins of fat in that meat. It's much better for you... if not as... appetizing. Okay, that was a laboured metaphor.

*Sigh.* Yeah, the US is out. I may have cried a little bit. And the goals weren't even indefensible. Real defensive letdown. But Ghana deserved the victory. They just played better. No more utterly horrendous, painful calls against the US, just better playing. And hey, now an African team stays in.

Uruguay was just so going to win. I'd have given it 3:1 odds. Though I kind of wanted South Korea and North Korea to advance until they played each other, just so South Korea could win and laugh and laugh and laugh. And laugh.

Every time Donovan says "soccer" it makes him a little less attractive to me.

I think she's incredibly attractive... She looks amazing in that picture!

And agreed about Ghana. Too much team speed and too much skill.

Too bad the ref killed the game. The match would be more interesting if the scoreboard actually counted the goal. And now again in halftime the first goal of Argentina was offside. I hope it wont be one of those worldcup's again...

Chile goes home today, although celebrating that they've for the first time made it this far, in history.

Brazil passes to the next quarter after a victory of 3-0

They'll be facing Netherlands, who also passed.

I dont think it is a golden goal after 90 mins but 2 times 15 mins regardless the goals scored in extra time (followed by penalties or not). We saw this in the match Ghana vs US where they continued to play after the goal of Ghana.

It hasn't already been?
Maybe it has already, after
- USA goal against Slovenia 3-2 that has not been booked by the amateur ref from Mali;
- the England goal vs Germany that was not a goal after all;
- the offside goal of Argentina vs Mexico;
- the schwalbe penalty of Slovakia vs Netherlands;
- the unnecessary double yellow for Kaka (Brasil) vs Ivory Coast;
- the unnecessary double yellow for Australia vs Germany;
- the unnecessary double yellow for Klose (Germany) vs Serbia;
- the elbow of Villa (Spain) that did not got awarded with a red card;
- the red cards Portugal should have in the match vs Brasil, but were lucky enough to escape
- and I probably missed several as well.
