Please forgive me almighty tool setters and staff members but, ive been asking players question and alot of people dont know the answer but are curious.

We have many new golem types, one of them being mithril, and as such mithril has become far more common (considering how it used to be non existant) then it used to be.

Now, come the can or worms question.

Are we limited to use it just for golems or can we do other things with it like start making mithril armors?!!.

Yeah...thats right...i asked it...

Dont hurt me..

Not the final word but to repeat what's been the policy from since I've been here.

Short answer : No

Long answer : Not without a bunch of other sweeping changes to materials and crafting in general.

I am like 90% certain the mithral ingot that drops can only be used as a reagent for creating a mithral golem as its description is different from the vanilla mithral ingot that is tied to the vanilla crafting recipes.

The mithral ingots you get only function for the crafting of mithral golems. Yeh.

Mithril armors make almost every other armor types completely obsolete, and yes, I get it. Warrior sorts, 2 more AC, ooh horrid! The same point exists, that 2 more AC and armor category downgrade as well as arcane spell failure reduction just make them superior all around, oh and none of those even count to enchantment limit. Once you allow mithril armors, well... all those other armors you have? They're not going to sell so well. :P It's going to be mithril armor or nothing else. Also medium armors? They're going to vanish from existence since mithril fullplate is going to make them as good as nothing.

Mithril ingots drop rates can be adjusted if they're too frequent and make too many questions. :P

Put an OOC note in the item description itself, in bright red text.

(( THIS ITEM CAN ONLY BE USED TO CRAFT GOLEMS. IT CANNOT BE USED TO CRAFT ARMORS. ))

Everyone has it correct. We likely will never add mithril to armor crafting. We barely allow any type of mithril armor to be found.

Pfft, They said the same thing about adamantine weapons four-five years ago. - But suddenly there was blood glass and the like.

Though it is a different story entirely. Weapons are easier to make useful than armors. As many armor types are already... well. Useless. - Half-Plate with the exception of very specific armors. Like (Bigby Immunity) Most medium armor has no worth mechanically.

The adamantium story was different, there was public thought that adamantium would penetrate everything, turns out it doesn't, so it turned out to be a moot concern. Mithril however does still give far superior stats.
