Loose-knit Character Group Concept

So IÂ’ve been thinking for quite some time about a character group concept. One that is loose enough that they donÂ’t need each other to be online to operate but can easily coordinate as a group for specific events.

Basically the idea is a group of assassins/bounty hunters but not of the usual antisocial, violently evil, cutter stench type standing around glaring at everyone through the shadow of their ever-worn hood or mask. It would be a group of professionals, civilized types, who work under the same umbrella. Educated people sharing a profession, ideas, skills and information. They could take contracts together, in pairs, as a group, whatever. They are clean, well kept, civilized and share an established honor code.

I was thinking most of them would likely be ex-Triad members willing to step outside the law to do what needs to be done as necessary yet still carry the ‘Triad’ frame of mind (and likely still would have friendly contacts inside each of the three Factions). They wouldn’t blow things up (or endanger innocents) but wouldn’t hesitate to take out a target in broad daylight if they felt they could get away with it.

Thing is IÂ’d love to belong to something like this (got a concept already in mind) but have no desire to lead it.

Ideas could be:

The Sniper (my preferred)
The information keeper (possibly alchemist/trapper/crafter all around jack of all trades - master of none)
The rogue
The mentalist
The muscle
The acrobat
The Dopple
(And any other well thought out concept)

Thoughts?

I like this idea! Gives off kind of an Ocean's/Italian Job vibe, which has me interested. Always a big fan of characters that have a special niche, making them the 'right man for the job'.

I have a couple of characters that could easily fill a couple of those roles. If you get this off the ground, I'd be highly interested in joining. :)

Would you want to start these haracters out at a low level knowing each other via backstory or what?

I imagine that would be up to the players involved. I'm good with either way.

huh, I like that idea Rob. A solder of fortune who works for the law. . . this might encourage me and other folks to join a faction within the Triad or atlaest in this case afiliate themselve with them, as no one wants to be a law enforcer on traffic duty and such x.x

Excellent idea Rob overall :) i would be highly interested in something like that

Ten years ago, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by the Fraternity of Order for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from the Mercy Killers to the Sigil underground. Today, still wanted by the Harmonium, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... the Loose-knit Character Group!

I think you might need to work on a name, guys :p

I think perhpas some could be merged like "The Dopple, The Rogue, and The Acrobat" as i would assume they woudl all fall under a catagory of "infiltrator" but thast just me /shrug could use somthing like i had a idea that was eventauly contributed rank wise Linkage to Player Sect - not advertising it just showing a example those ranks stand for somthing, my initial idea was chess and using chess to incorperate to the public what we are doing via sigis.. folks felt it was to complicated or complex so they used it in the ranks instead. anyhow it would be cool to have something like that for "code names" that represent stuff, but wont show exactly what they do. just a idea

Yeah.... no, hehe. It's not supposed to be like that.

It's simply bounty hunters/Assassins who are not 'Typically dark and evil' and vile. The whole premise is to be civilized, gentlemanly and whatnot, with an honor code that is close to those who belong to the Triad. That's why some of the 'might' be ex-members simply tired of having their hands tied by all the rules. They're still hired killers but for better reasons than simple coin.

But I did laugh at the A-Team premise :P
