There's very few items worth their prices in the NPC stores. I don't think there's anyone particularly trying to defend the NPC stores, it's more that it has never reached a priority status on a primarily player economy driven server.

On this note, I will say there are a few, yeah. For example, there's a ring that's designed for Athar. "Ring of the True Believer" or something. Less than 25k. It has like 4 different on use spells, one use per day. Point is, THAT is useful. I'm sure there's a few others; but I think you get my point.

That said, the items that are useful shouldn't be 150k. Should they require investment? Of course. Should that investment require heavy merchant activity? No.

Well there does need to be more things that consumes money from the players, that means some high end and expensive non-crucial but maximize your potential trinkets as well. I mean lets consider something like Aurorum armors. The effect you are getting is +1 greater regeneration, but people are willing to pay hundreds of thousands for those after they've sorted out all other item needs. That's the effect you want for high end items, marginal improvements for expensive investments, but if you really want to get best out of yourself, you'll get it, eventually.

Longterm characters will gradually build up wealth and that wealth does need some places to drain into also. Granted most wealth people have is in the form of excess number of items, so there really needs to be some way to consume those for benefits akin to what Magic Electrifier already does, just make it do it somehow else.

How many of you have bought any of the items that are listed for over 150 thousand jinks in any store from an NPC?

Just asking, I never have, as it seems like there are better weapons to be had via merchants.

I've got that cool Rapier that cost almoust a million if i remember correctly that has con damage DC 30, that was only one that was worth it, the rest is meh, or eh, or can get better from enchanter or Merchant, nothing that strikes me as "Omg must have"

Why bother? I can get better items from Player Merchants, generally. Only thing I bought from a NPC is a ring with +5 Hide, because it can be enchanted to have +5 Deflection AC eventually, freeing up a ring slot for something better.

Yeah it's just some of the items are shit, The amulets and rings and other shit? I can enchant better one, ..Now if there was a Ring that gave SHIELD Ac...Now we're talking.

Just play a half-dragon with fang dragon heritage. you get +8 shield ac.

Usually the only way to get that kind of jink is merchanting. It's mostly a prestige thing to have those items I guess.
