The list of stuff folks can do.
Boots -can not add ac to them. Can add con bonus or reflex save
Gloves Skill bonuses, ac, dex bonus (gloves = deflection, bracer = armour)
rings = Ac deflection
Helmets Intelligence bonus, will save and some skill bonuses
Cloaks = Charisma , deflection ac
Belts = Strength, dex, fort saves
Necklace = AC and wisdom
Armour /shields = ac though shield ac is different then armour ac. Spell resistance, Damage reduction towards an element cold,fire,acid,electric. Can also add some skills or regeneration.
Weapons, on hit stuff, +to hit/damage , Elemental d4 or d6 cold, electric, acid,fire
Ac differences
Shield = strictly shields
Armour ac = Armour/clothes or Bracers
Deflection = Rings, Cloaks, helms, and gloves
Natural = Necklaces
Dodge = boots
Rule of Three once something has three enchantments it can not be improved upon or added too. If it is bellow three you can improve or add one more. Example improving a belt of strength to +4 from +3 can be done if 2 or less enchantments on it.
There is a shop that sells scrolls for enchanting things, getting them to figure out what gems or things needed or keep track of what you want to do is a good idea. Its much easier to send a tell with what you want or offer the scroll.
A typical scroll list a Jink price, Gem, and essences. This is what is required to do the enchantment it is not what a PC enchanter will charge. That varies from each one could be 200 over or a lot more.
Figure at best you are going to get +3 or +4 gear. If you want better need to get the gem to get +5 or find an enchanter who has good inventory.
That is all the advice I can think of other enchanters can pipe in what else they can think of.
Enchanting.

A few things i can think of
1) Have the recipe yourself, it helps
2) Don't assume i have everything that's needed. Poor Vara is dangerously low on gems.
3) +4 is just as good as +5. Blue Diamonds are notoriously rare so if i do have one, i WILL charge you an arm and a leg..and maybe your ear as well.
4) If you don't have any or some of the ingredients, it will cost you.\
5) Most importantly Read the recipes! Some people ask to add properties to items that don't work. Goto the lab, read and decide what you want. If the recipe isn't there, then i can't add it.

Also: If the Enchanter is not in the Great Bazaar, don't bug them with tells :P they don't play the game to enchant stuff for you. I know, not exactly tip for enchanting stuff or anything, just good to mention once in a while.

For enchanting:
- adding colors on items is done with:
<C=color>desired name
With DMFI tool you can rename the item.
With DMFI you cannot ADD colors, but once you have a colored item, you can CHANGE the color:
if you chose red in <C=red>name, you can change the name to <C=blue>newname.
- adding italic and bold is done with <i> and <b>, this can be combined with adding colors too:
<c=red><i>name, so the color is in italic

Just a note that <c=red> will not work.Xynisto,May 25 2010 wrote:

For some reason, the color command is case-sensitive, as opposed to <b> and <i>. This drove me crazy one day. :P
So, you use: <C=red>This text in red.</C>
Incidentally, used to be able to use hexidecimal codes for colors, so you could use: <C=FF33FF>Magenta</C> to get a broader palatte, but it seems that the hex codes no longer work. :(

Soon to be a new policy the more tells sent the higher the price.
I might not reply due to rp going on, shiv loves to barter and it can take awhile. Also if at the bar most likely he is off the clock and not really wanting to enchant meaning price goes up. Depending on how the conversation goes. Lately its been.
Armor clad man stomps up to shiv "You enchant you shiv right? I have work for you". this == expensive.
-=If it went like this=-
walks up "hello berk, you that enchanter shiv? *wait for response* oi great perhaps if you have time you can enchant something?" == not expensive.
Last night
was rping at the bar getting tells from someone 2 feet away. I did not respond quickly due to was tired, they SAID they did not want to interrupt. Yet kept asking the same question. So I gave them a random number price seeing I missed half their tells.
In nwn1 I used to carry on 3-4 conversations. With the head cold I am coming down with 1-2 will be my tops.
Keep in mind my enchanter character has literally stood and enchanted for people 2-4 hours straight. If people make it less fun with tell hell, my alts will be on more often.

Heh...yep. This is exactly why I stopped playing an enchanter on a prior server.
What I especially used to enjoy was a 45 minute discussion in tells about what the player wanted, what he needed to enchant the item in question, what would stack with what, et cetera, ultimately followed by the player deciding that he was not ready to buy yet.
Great. So I just wasted three quarters of an hour not even getting to RP and still didn't get to make the sale.
I finally implemented a policy that I would do an enchantment only if the player had everything that was needed and only needed my PC to cast the spell. :P

Yep. That is how the hexadecimal system works. 0-9 followed by A through F are the digits, for a total of 16 "digits". Each of the red/green/blue codes are two digits giving a total of 16^6=16 million colors. But, no matter what hex code you put in now, you get the same color text. (Cyan, maybe? I forget what color comes up.)wrote:Where the hexadecimal number 00 - FF is a decimal number in the range of 0 to 255.
