Is there any chance that a DM could untick the visible helmet option on the mechanus gears suit of full plate in the toolset and swap it with my version that I have since the helmet is just appearing as a feathered hat on my PC and I really like to have nothing on a characters head when i'm in civilised areas RPing.
There is no way to change the helmet style in the item appearance modifier and it comes out as this totally unorcish grey and feathered fishermans hat.
My only current solution is to always be wearing a helmet or mask ort hood and although it seems a relitively unimportant thing it ruins the character and his armour.
Please also anyone who makes armours, default helmets on armours make even the best +5 suit of heavily enchanted armour trash to anyone who takes pride in customising their characters appearance.

IIRC, if you wear another helmet over it, it should override. If you want to see your char's face, choose banded and select one of the headbands.

Banded headbands, cloth headbands, and the collar under "full plate" are all quite useful for hiding those uggo helmets.

There's two kinds of headbands, metallic and cloth. Metallic ones are under banded and cloth one are under, surprise surprise, cloth. I don't know how well it works to races outside humans however.

There is a completely invisible headband under one of the helm types in the appearance changer. I think it is under full plate, actually, but I do not recall.
I could check, I guess...

Hmm... No. But under the full plate options, one helm is actually a collar, which is obscured by most armor. You could use that, I suppose. I think that must be what I did.

Not on half orcs unfortunately.
I have spent hours infront of that little mirror in the sensate place. Feathered hat is 99% of a half orcs options.
RP wise half orcs should be killing people in feathered hats not joining them.
I got your PM Rav. ;)
I'll be playing around with that stuff tomorrow but i'm off to my mates wedding the other side of the country this weekend so I may not PM you until monday or tuesday.

Not really, they are just as hideous.
I don't know why on earth they ever put the default helmet function on armours as even an optional thing at all. I mean if you want to wear a helmet you wear a helmet. It's just an RP destroyer.
Request still stands.
I'll make a donation or something if it gets this incoporeal hat off my characters head.
(btw most of the custom appearances don't work on my half orc, i don't know if it's a race bug or something wrong with haks)

Neither, just a shortcut in the appearance changer script I made to save some work... after update there should be less 'blank' looks to scroll through (but yes, orcs get alot less outfits... generally modders make stuff for human/elven females only heh)

Which in turn work on the halflings, which is kinda weird when you see halflings (who always remind me of children) dressed so... scantily.
