Sigil: City of Doors

A character of mine has recently acquired a lovely purple glowing sword with 'universal sword' as its type. I remember from some dim and distance thread that a sword like this used to have a bug on it?

What is a universal sword and is the bug that was, still existing? I don't want to pass on bugged goods.

ps Frostburn is its name.

It's not bugged per-say, just that universal swords don't get any bonus for weapon focus feats and the like.

Universal sword is type that isn't really any other type sword, easy and simple to wield by most, but can't specialize in it.
