It'll be a day or so before I'll be able to return, as I reformatted my computer in a lazy effort to do a broad-spectrum cure for my video card issues. Currently in the process of downloading NWN2 off Direct2drive, which is slow with my horrible constantly disconnecting, Comcast ISP.
Sorry if it slows down any storylines that Dom is involved in
For the techies, and those who may know what the hell went wrong. My GPU issues started when I downloaded the latest drivers 197.45 for an nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX
At the time I wasn't aware that newer drivers caused NWN2 to spazz out, Some areas didn't load properly, but the problem progressed to outside of the game as well. Corrupted images, decayed graphics. I uninstalled and reinstalled an older driver and all went well for awhile, but the corruption returned.
All worked well after a fresh installation of drivers, and the reboot that followed, but after a cold boot after playing a game (Computer completely turned off and turned back on) the decay returned.
On the off chance it was an old registry entry causing confusion I did a reformat. (I realized later there is plenty of software out there to clean the registry of old driver entries. Boo on me.)
So far it's passed the stress tests I've given it after the format. It's running a little hot, but no image corruption. Once NWN2 is reinstalled and I log in, I'll know for sure if it's an actual hardware problem.
