I thought pale master was all about the art of necromancy, just wanted something that makes..sense so to speak.

Even if a character tosses a hundred fingers of deaths, they have just tossed a hundred fingers of death. Pale masters are all about necromancy, but in a sense where the pale master slowly gains undead-like traits and abilities. While casting finger of death feels appropriate, it is not required as the primary focus of the class.

Palemaster can also be someone who is obsessed with death and not necessarily the necromancy spell school


If the "cheese" build you're referring to is the Bard 7/RDD 10/PM 10/BG 3, personally I wouldn't worry too much, at end game on the server it's relatively strong so long as you pay close attention to your AB capacity and can tank very effectively throughout most of the server.

Anything can work here depending on your goals, if you want powerbuilds there's tons and tons of them that can solo all the way to the hardest plane and conquer just about everything even alone. The more important thing is what do you want to RP ;)

umm... 10pm /10rdd = high ac lots of strength yet can't hit squat.

I figure a power build would be something like

cleric 18 /shadow dancer 1/ bard 1/ Rdd 10

that whole freedom of movement/death ward voiding iron body, full bab of a fighter, haste, and other fun stuff. If I played paladins/clerics more I could probably tweak it better. Few harms and slay living is always fun too.

As a former "administrator" (don't laugh Darkrob) i have a question with regards to builds for the dms. Do you guys mind...the cheese build?

You guys know the cheese, you can see it a mile away, as it tends to scream look at me. So how do you feel about it? Do you still interact (dm wise) with those that have powerbuilds for the sake of having a badass char?

Reason i ask cuz i got a char (Vara Jorina) going the magical knight route...a drunken none bashful elf whom i am considering going pale master. Only problem is..i will have to rp it and i've no interest in investing into Epic spell focus necromancy.

Thoughts?

Everyone has their own personal rules for builds. What one considers cheese another acceptable. Its not what is built what is RPed matters.
