After a great deal of preparation and discussion, it is with great pleasure to officially announce the Baequiannia Institute.
Mission Statement
The Baequiannia Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for Sigilian children and young adults; regardless of faction affiliation, gender, income, or race.
Methods
The Baequiannia Institute will allow students the chance to learn commercial trades and better themselves through hard work and study. Students will be taught by teachers who have extensive experience in their field of study, within classrooms outfitted with commercial grade equipment. The job of the Institute is not to force restoration or reformation in the area of its campuses. It is our belief that the students will enrich their own communities with their newly gained skills and knowledge.
Funding and Affiliation
The Baequiannia Institute is a privately funded organization and is not affiliated with any faction or commercial group. While the Institute does accept donations, the names of the individuals and organizations will not be disclosed. This is to prevent the institute from being used for political or commercial gain.
Location and Construction
The first two campuses are to be located in the Bazaar and Hive Ward. The Institute will hire, when able, local workers, contractors, and teachers along with partnering with local landlords, vendors, and caterers. The schools will be made by the people who the schools are meant to serve.
Employment Opportunities
The Baequiannia Institute is currently hiring for many teaching and labor positions. A detailed listing for each campus will be published within S.I.G.I.S.
In closing, a message from the founder
Throughout my entire life I have seen the effects of education. A good one gives an individual all the tools necessary to conquer difficulties of life and come out better for it. If a child is willing to work hard and learn, that child deserves a place to do it in. The Baequiannia Institute was created allow children that opportunity. For it to succeed, lasting partnerships must be forged with the communities I hope the Institute will be a part of. ~Nu'oro
