There is no question that recently political upheaval had severely taxed the relationship between Alisohn Nilesia and Duke Rowan Darkwood. Rumor had it that Factol Nilesia was down to only three and a half hours of sleep over the situation, and Duke Darkwood was spending more time than normal counting his treasure hoard. But despite fervent attempts to get to the deep dark of the matter, no letters were intercepted, no tidbits revealed.

But at long last we have our official announcement! The engagement which sparked so many questions is officially off. We'll never know how Factol Alisohn managed to squeeze reading love poetry in between feeding the accused to the Wyrm, or what the dark plots of Duke Darkwood might have been. That chapter of Sigil history is closed.

Rumor has it that the lover's quarrel started when Factol Rowan refused to have a certain outspoken drow factotum of the Fated publicly beaten for statements in the Hall of Speakers. None of the parties involved could be reached for comment, but we can confirm that there have been no public beatings.

A spokesperson from the Fated suggested that they are looking into the possibility of invoking the Divorce Tax. When reminded that the two Factols were not in fact married, the spokesperson threatened to tax any more questions or comments.

No high ranking Mercykillers were willing to comment on the matter, but we did manage to get the following out of one off-duty Justice: "You see, its about the JUSTICE of the matter. The Fated don't know a thing about justice, and it was a grand injustice that Duke Darkwood couldn't just do the just thing."
