The light of day shone bright on the warfront in the Outlands; the Harmonium of Light knew it was the right time to strike against the Harmonium of Darkness.

Boys, men and even women all marched on Giphon's Bridge, their righteous spirit and cause given confidence by the magics lent to them by their allies.

Those of the enemy hissed, their blue skins seeming to lightly steam in the light as they approached their enemies. Wicked golems wrought of iron and blood intoned the words 'EXTINCTION OF MANKIND' over and over again in a tinny voice that struck fear into many.

But the Harmonium of Light stood strong. Though many faced grievous wounds and even potentially death, they remained, and were soon saved by the most unlikely of reinforcements!

Planeswalkers of all shapes and sizes; dragons, giants, halflings and planars of every stripe rode onto the battlefield, carried by meteors hurling through the sky and landing with a violent crash onto the battlefield!

The hearts of the Harmonium of Light and the Planeswalkers beat as one, and proved more powerful than any could expect! With explosive force, they repelled an endless stream of minions from the Harmonium of the Dark!

With righteousness and joy in all of their hearts once more, they looked ahead from their new conquest; as long as Sigilians worked as one, they could overcome anything.

ROMANCE OF THE TWO SIGILS, PART TWO: BATTLE OF THE OUTLAND PLAINS

Disclaimer; This is a fictionalized version of true events, designed to stir the heart and encourage an ongoing war effort. While some of the details are untrue, the struggle is all very real!

In an obscure piece of the beating heart of the Outlands, an army of Sigil prepared themselves. The Harmonium of Light, the Transcendent Order, and even the Doomguard stood side by side. Peering forth from the shoulders of giants, humans surveyed the enemy ahead.

The Harmonium of Dark had fielded a great army of their own, matching that of Sigil ten-to-one. Many thousands of them marched across the plains with inhumane uniformity. Their constructs of blood and iron shook the earth with each step, sending waves of fiendish energy into the ground. Nervousness spread among the troops of Sigil, but they remembered their cause.

The dark sorcerers of the Harmonium of Dark did their fell magics, and summoned a Demon Lord into the sky above. Many were overtaken by a dread, but the words of Sigil's heroes resounded louder than any fear. "We need only to hold them! Slay ten for every one of ourselves, and we will have victory!"

Holy magics stoked a fire in the hearts of the Harmonium of Light, and not a single man allowed himself to back away from the battlefield. Sword, spear and spell were drawn on both sides.

Many members of Sigil's factions did fall that day, but they all continued to fight; and slowly, the will of the Harmonium of Darkness did erode.

The Harmonium of Darkness' Demon Lord turned its gaze upon the army of Sigil, and began to launch its abyssal fires! Yet, the very ground beneath the defenders of Sigil came alive and shifted beneath them! A shielding dome of rock protected Sigil's soldiers.

With booming explosions, the Demon Lord fell out of the sky! The allies of the Harmonium of Light had seized the weapons of the enemy and turned them on the Demon Lord, empowered by the distraction that the army of Sigil did create for them. With a crash that caused a quake in the earth, the Demon Lord landed, vanquished.

Fear overtook the Harmonium of the Dark, and with the same uniformity in which they marched through the Outlands, they turned tail and ran. So it went for the Battle of the Outland Plains, and so it would for all who would threaten the City of Doors.

Romance of the Two Sigils, Part Three: Counterstroke

Disclaimer; This is a fictionalized version of true events, designed to stir the heart and encourage on ongoing war effort. While some of the details are untrue, the struggle is all very real!

Flying high off of their major victories, the army of Sigil turned much of its forces to the gate town of Faunel. They would thoroughly secure the place from the tyranny of the Harmonium of Darkness, and all of its citizens would be liberated.

Yet, in the dark heart of their Red Sigil, the Harmonium of Darkness executed a new, sadistic plan. With dozens of blood sacrifices upon their fell altars, the Harmonium of Darkness would open portals all around the lightly defended warcamp of the Sigilian army while many of them were away.

Dark Harmonium soldiers filed in the thousands out of their portals, mere steps away from the war camp of Sigil; all too close to a door to our beloved home.

Abyssal siege weapons rained fire and rock upon the warcamp, but its defenders stood strong; many of the most physically powerful deflected the worst projectiles that the Dark Harmonium could muster.

With an oblivious zeal, the soldiers of the Dark Harmonium invaded the war camp; outnumbered but not outmatched, the many and varied Sigilians united their strength and repelled the evil, one man after another.

Loosing a roar that shook the foundations of the earth around the camp, two ancient dragons soared in the sky, and from their craven distance high above, they belched fire onto the camp. Yet, the fires inside our defenders burned hotter still! The mages of Sigil countered the fire with their own, and forced the dragons to land.

The beasts, as big as mansions, landed upon the camp; there, the warriors of Sigil stood firm, their great and many strikes forcing the dragons onto their backs and making them face a full onslaught of attacks, until even these ancient wyrms were slain.

The Harmonium of Darkness found, to their shock, that they were no longer supported. No reinforcements came to aid them as the tides were turned; the portals that could grant them escape closed in their faces. They felt the abandonment of their tyrannical masters, and in great numbers, surrendered.

With a display of great magnanimity, the Harmonium of Light proved their mercy and merely took these soldiers prisoner. If even the most dominated and brainwashed among the Harmonium of Darkness could be made to see the light, ultimate victory would merely be a matter of time.

Romance of the Two Sigils, Part Four: Liberation

Disclaimer; This is a fictionalized version of true events, designed to stir the heart and encourage on ongoing war effort. While some of the details are untrue, the struggle is all very real!

At last, the beating heart of Sigil's army turned their attention to the gate town of Glorium. Held overlong by the Harmonium of Darkness, it was time to free the Gatetown to Ysgard.

While a great share of the Harmonium of Light set out on the field, undaunted by the looming fortifications built by the Harmonium of Darkness, others took a path around the gatetown. While the battle would rage on, others would close the portal that the Harmonium of Darkness relied upon to reach the Outlands.

Upon the Outland plains, the Harmonium of Darkness unleashed an assault on Sigil's army; engines of terror rained fire on the Harmonium of Light, but they refused to be burned. Two great wyrms descended on the army, but the army would not be crushed underfoot. Little by little, the forces of the Harmonium of Darkness dwindled. The words and deeds of Sigil's finest seemed to overpower any wounds they might take.

The Winged Warriors of Sigil flew to the hills where the Harmonium of Darkness hid their terrible siege weapons, and crushed them with divine might. One small victory would lead to another, and the Harmonium of Darkness was the first to be worn down.

Before long, the army of Sigil reached the gate town; with their twisted powers, the Harmonium of Darkness had quickly built a castle that towered above the town. There, they ran and hid behind their gates as they planned to create more portals for their cowardly escape.

The army of Sigil was not deterred; with magic and wings, they flew over the walls of the castle, a small contingent setting to face several squadrons at once while Harmonium soldiers beat upon the gates with as much strength as they could muster.

Great healing magics were expended, and the soldiers of Sigil wavered often between life and death; yet, like a ray of light piercing through the clouds, the gates came down. The other Sigilians had succeeded in their mission, they reported, and quickly joined forces with the army. Soon, the Harmonium of Darkness was thoroughly routed from Glorium.

Yet, the hour would not be without tragedy. Few of Glorium's civilians were able to be recovered, and the future of the town would look uncertain. Even now, Glorium requires the aid of others to repopulate and restore it to the status it once held. Will you join us, dear reader?
