((I would join, but I'm afraid I don't have any IC crafters, unless you count a character with no actual craft points that likes sewing. And she's not exactly a professional.
I'll just have to make someone that can participate in a competition like this the next time one arises.))

((Orion'll join, but how exactly does this work? Do you craft something in-game or something? Does it work if someone else enchants it? 'Cause Orion can only smith. Is it just making up something great? Is there a required storyline for the item? 'Cause if you just craft something uber, then anyone can do that through a recipe.))
((EDIT: In my unending ignorance...how does one do paintings and such in Sigil? I've never gotten this, other than taking an item and renaming it with some painting name, and RPing it as a painting...))

((I want it. I would have to do it over forums however since I won't be home for another week. Lets just say I look like a lobster but still enjoying my time at the shore with a bunch of friends. Its also a well needed break from game drama.))
Zaed would notice the flyer as he walks into the Great Foundry, a location he is known to frequent often.
"Hmm... a contest. I know of plenty who appreciate my work... I wonder..." He mumbles to himself as he heads to the forge to work on a commissioned piece for a customer.
First thing is first though, getting to work hunting down ore. He thinks about making something other than a simple weapon or suit of armor. Something thematic of his beliefs perhaps.

((OOC clearance: Anyone can atleast try participate, however no spoilers of conditions of victory, hehe. As for the rules, that's simple. You make a description here as well as estimated material cost. If it's not enough or too much, I shall fix it...You can even create a substitue item IG. If that is not done, we'll just dump the material whenever we have the chance))

Zaed finishes up on his project for the competition. He looks at his work and gives a look of satisfaction towards it. The grandmaster smithy would then turn in his work for the competition.
DESCRIPTION: It is a suit of full-plate and a matching blade. It is more on the ornamental side than anything but yet is still practical. A Fusion of Aesthetic tastes and practicality. The base metal of the armor would be a special alloying of steel meant for durability, being alloyed with cobalt for that purpose as well as to give it a silvery grey-blue lustre/sheen to it due to having a high cobalt content. The gorget would be fashioned in such a way that it has a graceful curve right down to the breastplate, as well as enough clearance for the helm to nest into it and still have enough room for full range of motion. The pauldrons would cover down to half-way to the elbow. It isn't blocky at all, also having a graceful curve to it, sweeping back at the top near the gorget in a fashion reminiscent of metal wings they would be stiff and high enough to provide even further protection to the head. The breastplate would be just as graceful in appearance, a graceful curve that extends to the faulds and tasset. As for the vambraces and the gauntlets they to would be graceful, the lobstering of the plate being intricate/complex enough to allow full range of motion without sacrificing protection. Likewise could be said for the greaves and boots as well as the join for the shoulder. The helm itself would also be just as graceful in its curves and design. Being a fully enclosed helm in the fashion of a ravens head, metallic wings sweeping upwards and back along the sides of the helm. The armor would have an intricate inlays made of brass across its entire surface in such a way as to enhance, to accentuate the curves of it as well as keeping to the raven motif. The reason for them being brass instead of gold would be the fact its much more durable, just as good of a heat conductance and a higher melting point, holds a polish very well and resists tarnishing. The entire suit would get polished to a high degree suitable for presenting it.
As for the falchion it would be made out of the same steel alloy as the armor folded with abyssal blood-iron in the same fashion that damascus steel would be to provide both durability yet also to have a wickedly deadly edge. It would have a graceful curve to it , the wing motive continuing on the upper edge of the blade opposite of the cutting edge. The wings would be made of the same alloy as the rest of the blade, it itself also sharpened as well, having a spiked profile in order to be used for an attack on the backswing if need be. It to would be polished for presentation.
The whole entire project isn't just for show though, it is also an experiment on the specific alloy described, a test to see its appearance and functionality after being forged. He does spend a lot of time at the great foundry even before the competition was even announced, not just for making commissioned work but also as an area to create and test out now alloys.
((As for the cost. He has plenty of Abyssal bloodiron on hand, steel itself is not expensive to make. As for the cobalt it is priced maybe 1.5X - 2X the cost of steel IRL. Brass isn't expensive to make either, due to it being an alloy of copper and zinc. So for the metals aside from bloodiron since he has plenty as well as the processing costs, Id put it at around 6k or 7k to make.))
((I do RP him as being at the foundry constantly anymore. As for how the alloy on the sword would look, the metal would look like damascus steel, just the the lighter section of a real life one would be a deep red/maroon colour.))
