Rogue Modron Servant Goes on Rampage in Bazaar!

Just this past evening we have reports of an Rogue Modron, just previously seen serving individuals in Khazeet's Tavern then seizing up in the middle of the Grand Bazaar, before going on a violent rampage, attacking noted passerby and merchants alike throughout the marketplace.

Initially seen accompanying three patrons of Khazeet's Tavern, the creature's motives, affiliations and identity are at this point uncertain. When interviewed, Khazeet, the proprietor of the popular Tavern centrally located in the Bazaar, claimed no connection to the modron, explaining that it had merely been serving patrons that it had accompanied, with no connection to his business, nor any ensuing liability.

Questioned by an Harmonium patrol, the Enchanter Samarra Moonshorn said that the modron had assaulted her and several other merchants, including the Beetlemonger and Tarion the Sellspell. Miss Moonshorn described the Modron as making an unearthly grinding noise which had first drawn her attention after it had followed it's companions out of the Tavern, then halted in it's tracks falling behind thier party. Her first-hand account given to the Patrol on the scene is annotated below as heard by this reporter.

"Well, I really couldn't concentrate on my work - writing some spell formulae down, but the racket would allow no rest or respite so I turned to see what was the matter with the thing... suddenly it started to lurch around, first running towards Minerva, then towards me! It seemed to be glowing red hot, like metal heated from inside a forge. I ran, calling for patrolmen, guards - anything, but I guess they were occupied in the Hive! That's when the creature charged after me even faster - but Tarion, he must have done something to get its attention as I ran by. Tarion stepped in with an axe to defend me as the Modron clawed at him, but the creature then careened away from him towards Jezebel, who I shouted warning to as well. That's when the creature focused on the Beetlemonger and me. It was clawing at anything that came with in it's reach, the Beetlemonger, me, the beetles that the Monger released... I'm not sure who hit it first, but those beetles are tough, they took metal out of it's legs and both Tarion and I were swinging to defend ourselves and keep it off of us. Finally the thing just fell over and started to smoke and twitch, the fire inside it finally did it in..."

Miss Moonshorn went on to ask if the Harmonium Patrol might find better leads by enquiring of the creature's companions, who no doubt were known to the Tavern proprietor. Several other Baazar patrons, attracted by the commotion, reported seeing the creature in combat with Moonshorn and the beetles, or being attacked by Tarion and the enchantress in tandem. This reporter's access to Miss Moonshorn was cut short by the Patrol taking Miss Moonshorn and other material witnesses into custody for further questioning at their Headquarters.

The Beetlemonger, when later questioned about his involvement in the affair asked if this reporter wanted Beetle, trying to sweeten the deal by offering a "Battleprooven Beetle Bodygard".

The Sellspell Tarion, questioned about the matter proved a bit more informative, asking not to be directly quoted, but confirming that he'd been forced to step in to defend himself and the passing elf enchantress from the malfunctioning Modron, also offering his casting services in fine protective wards, temporary enchantments and abjurations to protect citizens and travellers alike from such dangers.

Dorian upon hearing about this event was most annoyed. A Modron going wild and he missed it! What an amazing opportunity to study one misbehaving and what useful information could be garnered for the Doomguards?

He will certainly be also seeking out this wild Modron.
