Here's the first interview we got with Hildmor d'Kridis, a well-known lawyer and merchant .When our Undersigil reporter approached the blood greeted him rather politely, the interview went rather well. Chant is, Hildmor now has some territory of Undersigil vilalge under his control.
Reporter Raick the Cub: So, how it happened for you to acquire a piece of territory in here?
Hildmor d'Kridis: To put it simple, I bought it.
Reporter Raick the Cub: But why? You have alot of property up top and here, in this town full of orcs, murderers and robberers and...ugh, mushrooms, how are you going to make profit?
Hildmor d'Kridis: I will not disclose my business policy here but as you might have heard I know how to deal with unsavoury individuals on my turf.
Reporter Raick the Cub: So then, you do Harmonium's job then? And Guvner's, and apparently Mercykiller's? However, you still claim to be an Indep, don't you?Some say you even gather protection money...
Hildmor d'Kridis sighed: Let me explain...It's my jurisdiction by our agreement with Magistrate Vorgazar of Iron Tusks and it seems that you've never been to Tradegate. Militia there are mainly mercenaries hired by various merchants, a lot of Indeps among those. Also, while Guvners, Hardheads and Mercykillers do what their philosophy and leaders tell them to do I act as I please. I protect my business and make my territory safer for quite so obvious reasons. As for protection money...I make the streets safer for everyone and I have mercenaries to pay. Ask the people yourself, no one will complain about what I do since I don't care about what they do unless they steal or kill in here. To sum up, my actions have precisely nothing to do with factorial philosophy...and how would I be truly independent if I allowed berks to rob me or hinder my business in any way?
Reporter Raick the Cub: Mr. d'Kridis, are you planning to make the territory a save haven for Indeps or what?
Hildmor d'Kridis: While I might offer help to some of the League, I will not hide people who screw up unless there is any good reason for me to do that. However, all common courtesies such as discounts still apply on my territory.
Reporter Raick the Cub: What do you know about Spider's Juremale's death? Chant has it he was poisoned...some say it was an Indep merchant who ordered that hit.
Hildmor d'Kridis: Mayhaps it was an Indep but I couldn't care less. Never knew the lad close enough to be bothered and every organisation, group or collective significant enough has some black chant about it...
Reporter Raick the Cub: Thank you and Lady's Grace.
Think what you want of this, bashers. What will our lawyer do there? Drugs? Slaves? Or worse? Almost no one knows who Hildmor really is...A merchant, or a crosstrader? Or perhaps he's walking the fine line in between!
