Deity/Beliefs: Verenestra is the fey deity of female faeries, charm, and beauty. Her symbol is a filigree-edged silver mirror. Verenestra appears as a demure, slim female faerie (either a sylph, dryad, or nymph, as she chooses) of unearthly, fey beauty. She is always barefooted, wearing only gossamer garments the size of handkerchiefs to provide her with a semblance of modesty. She stands four and a half feet in height. Verenestra is the daughter of Titania and one of the Inner Circle of the Seelie Court. She is prone to jealousy, and avoids other goddesses of beauty, love, and romance such as Myhriss and Hanali Celanil. Verenestra travels with the Seelie Court. She has her own bower there with silver birches, larches, plane trees, and fringes of willows, decorated with living silver filigree and jewels, with many mirrors inside for the goddess to gaze at herself in. Verenestra is a fickle, vain creature, but wise enough to know that she must help protect all the faerie realms in order to ensure that her patron races remain safe. Therefore, she is loyal to the Seelie Court despite her flighty, inconstant nature. She may occasionally send avatars to the Prime Material Plane to abduct handsome males. Verenestra is revered primarily by dryads, nymphs, and sylphs.

Nilaleya sleeps curled up under the warm, shallow waters of Elysium's great ocean and dreams...

In her dream, she is back in her familiar lake, surrounded by her friends, the woodland animals.

"How was your day, Nila, tell us!" squeak the mice, "Yes Nila, tell us of Sigil!" croak the frogs.

"Ooh it was a wonderful day! I met this girl with horns, S'vaya was her name, and we talked sooo much! She said, you don't have to sleep in the dirty pools in front of the Great Gymnasium, take a flute and it will open a portal to Elysium where it's nice! And so I did, and there was such a nice and warm ocean there, and that's where I'm sleeping right this very moment!". The owls hooted in agreement that this was nice, indeed.

"S'vaya was soo nice to me, I just had to give her a present!" Nila said. The rats grumbled a bit that this was not such a great deed that it must require a present, but the other animals quickly shushed them. "I gave S'vaya a turtle figurine I carved, that had a little magic in it!" explained Nila. The rats seemed outraged at such a disproportionally nice present, but all the other animals cheered.

"Ooh, and then, we met some other people. There was this really black elf girl, and she was going on and on about spiders, and she had a pet spider with her, and I carved it too!" Nila went on, and the spiders that were present chittered excitedly among themselves on the news that Sigil had spiders as well.

"Well, and then, I met even more people, like there was this really tall and thin man that is called a 'gith', he was all green and odd looking, and he was leaning against a wall, and I carved a figurine of him and gave it to him!" Nila went on. The rats rolled their eyes at Nila giving away far too many presents for no particular reason at all, but everybody ignored them and cheered once more.

"Ooh, and then we went to this very scary place, that is called... the Plane of Ice!" and Nila said the last words after a tense pause and in hushed tones, which had the intended effect of eliciting lots of oohs and aahs and squeaks of terror from the animals present. "Look, I made a carving of my friends that went there with me: Meren the little halfling, Karath'rok the Gith, Nadira the elf and S'vaya! See, that's them fighting a huuuuge frost giant, and over here that's me, watching from far away so I wouldn't get squashed!" Nila said and held up a dream version of the wood carving she had made that evening showing that exact scene. One of the ducks fainted at the sight of the battle scene, and the rats murmured as they beheld the beautiful little statues with greedy and envious eyes.

After this the dream dissolved into a happy haze of swimming in the lake with her fish and otter friends, and Nila slept almost until noon.

Once again Nila swims out into the ocean in Elysium to sleep, with some dolphins she has befriended watching over her...

In the dream she is yet again back in her familiar lake. The animals flock to her and badger her (especially the badgers) for more stories.

"Ooh, I made a trade today!" Nila announces happily. The rats mutter that she, in her wisdom, probably traded her left arm for some magic beans but are shushed effectively by various snarls and quacking noises by the other animals.

"No, it was a really GOOD trade! I made a nice carving for this man named Bael, and he gave me a magical cloak for it! You see, Bael, who is this human man, he stands around the Great Bazaar all the time, and when I was there to buy a nice belt he spoke to me and wanted to trade! But I had no more jinks, which is what they call coins in Sigil, and so I asked him if he wanted a carving for it!" Nila explained. The owls started on a hooting discussion among themselves about the trading of wares versus trading for money, but were also shushed.

"Bael wanted to me to carve a figurine of someone he knows, and then put some protection magic in it! And for that he would give me the cloak! So we waited a bit, and S'vaya turned up, and you remember her, she is the devil girl that told me about the ocean in Elysium where I sleep!" Nila went on. Everybody cheered, on general grounds.

"Well, S'vaya arrived and I made a carving of her face out of some ivory, and I put the magic in it from a turtle charm I still had. I think she liked the figurine because she gave me a kiss on the cheek!" Nila told the animals with a little giggle. Some of the ducks, always a sentimental lot, starting wiping their eyes that had become a little tearful.

With this story concluded, Nila danced and sang the rest if the night in her dream with all her friends, including some of the dolphins from Elysium that she was pleased to find had found their way into her dreamscape.

Elysium's ocean, warm and welcoming as ever... Nila enters the Dreamscape yet again.

Nila is sitting at the shore of her lake, with her animal friends.

"I had such a nice day today! I met this little woman, I mean, a halfling is what they are called I think! She's small, only this high, and she said her name was 'Ydehu'!" Nila says, indicating someone about half her size. The rats seemed to think this was funny and made "small" jokes until someone pointed out that they were small themselves.

"She didn't speak any language I know, so we had to talk with hand signs! Ooh, let's see if you can guess what this means! Pretend Ollie the otter here is me, and I'm the halfling!" Nila went on, and then made a series of gestures with her hands: first she pointed at the otter's mouth, then at her own ears, and at last she held a thumb and an index finger apart by an inch or so. The animals hooted, squawked and growled their guesses at what that sign was supposed to mean, and after a long while with nobody guessing right (not even the owls) Nila said "Now now, you will understand it, just keep thinking! It took me forever as well!". The rats muttered about how it was "nonsense" and "probably a trick", but Nila ignored them.

"And then, after I finally guessed what she was telling me, we went to the steam baths together! I found out she's from a really hot, jungley place, and then we went *swimming*!" Nila explained, and jumped into the lake and swam for the rest of long dream.
