Ordinarily I wait until the following day to record my thoughts, but I feel the need to write down what happened today right now as well. Yesterday I managed to get a chance to speak with Gwynn and see how she was doing. I haven't seen much of her lately. As we were talking, she mentioned how angry she was with Khasef when he was bad mouthing Neli. Gwynn couldn't understand how she could have loved Neli if Neli was like that. I felt it was time to tell her what had happened between Neli and Dom. Gwynnithe was shocked by the knowledge. She just couldn't believe it. I told her that Neli's actions shocked everyone. No one had suspected her capable of such. Well, that's not entirely true. I did overhear something once but I barely knew Neli and decided to give her the benefit of doubt. Apparently, I was deeply wrong to do so.

As I tried to comfort Gwynn after telling her what happened, I recalled when I happened upon Azrinoth and Ixia in the Beast Lands while they were fishing. I asked Gwynnithe if she'd like to go fishing with me and, even though she would never fish, she liked the idea of just coming along to watch. After we left, I thought of inviting Kalina and Rozalin along to make it a family outing and to finally allow Rozalin a chance to see the waterfall for herself. Dom was there when I went to ask Kalina and so he was going to come too. It was turning into a family outing, only the second one I've ever had!

However, things didn't go quite as planned. Gwynnithe suddenly wanted to be alone. She still ended up coming along but she said she would just sit under a tree and write while the rest of us fished. I guess that would be all right, as long as she was there. After we got there, I went into water and fished with my hands like a bear, just as Aska had taught me all those years ago while Dom and Kalina took turns using the pole. It was nice. Dom jokingly threatened to use a staff enchanted with lightning on the water, and I responded by throwing a fish at his face! The expression on his face was hilarious! We were having fun... as a family.

Then something strange happened. After catching one more fish, I figured that was enough and sat down on the shore next to Rozalin after drying and changing. Dom and Kalina continued with little success as Rozalin and I cuddled close together, silently enjoying the view and the entertainment my sister and future brother-in-law provided. They suddenly got quiet as Dom put his rod away. Kalina then suddenly smiled and said they were heading back to Sigil.

I was disappointed and asked why? Kalina's expression turned confused and she said it would be a good chance for Rozalin and me to be alone together. While I told her the thought was nice, I had been hoping to spend time with them... my family. Rozalin and I have all night and large portions of the day together. By comparison, I've barely spent any time with my family and most of the time we're dealing with problems. It's rare we are ever together for the sake of just being together.

Dom and Kalina, thankfully, changed their minds and the two decided to clean and cook the fish for the picnic. They suggested staying at the waterfall for the night (or eight hours of dusk, rather), and I agreed with the idea. Rozalin fell asleep lying against my side shortly after that, so I went to set up our tent. After laying her down within, I came back out to sit and talk with them for a bit. I offered to set up their tent and Gwynnithe's, but Kalina reminded me that Gwynn wouldn't use a tent. So I just set up theirs, and started to feel tired myself. I wished them and Gwynn good night and retired with Rozalin. I slept very well that night.

In the morning, we broke camp and returned to Sigil. It was then we received the letter form Neli demanding Kalina to null all adoptions. It sounded ridiculous but the thought of loosing the family I had gained after twenty-six years of being an outcast bastard... I wanted to stay and help but I had my duties as a Paladin to fulfill. I left after saying goodbye to everyone, but I spent the entire time worrying about what was to come and trying to think of ways we could stop Neli.

As soon as I made it back to the inn, I went straight for Dom's and Kalina's room and knocked. As soon as the door opened, my nose was bombarded by the strong scent of devil weed. I was greeted and hugged by a very happy Kalina. After I made my way up the steps with Kalina still hanging on to me, I saw Dom and Azrinoth sitting at the table. Kalina ran to the kitchen for something and I told Dom there was no need for the drug. As worried as I was, I knew Neli would have no success and there was no need for relying on the drug. Dom said they knew that and we're just relaxing.

That calmed me a little but I asked Dom what they had done in response. For several minutes, Dom just stared at me. When he finally answered, his response was incomplete, as if I was hearing the end half of what he was saying. Kalina then wandered back while carrying a ridiculous number of fruits in her arms. I offered to help and she just yelled "Mine!" and jumped back defensively. She then stumbled towards the table and fruit went flying everywhere. All three of them lunged for the same orange and were fighting over it. I realized the only way I was going to get any straight answers was to cure them so I touched each of their shoulders one at a time to cast Lesser Restoration.

I was shocked at how Kalina reacted. She started screaming at me, telling me I am never to use my abilities on her because I disagree with the choices she makes. That confused me. Devil weed is a drug that can't be overdosed and therefore would have no reason to disagree with her choices. I told her if she wanted to drug herself, that's fine, but I wanted to know what was going on first. She just pointed to the door and told me to leave. I asked why she was so angry and she told me that I invaded her body because I wanted to know something. Invade her body? I touched her shoulder to remove the effects of a cheap drug that could be easily restored in moments. What is that in comparison to finding out what's going on so I can help my family?

Or is it really my family at all? Kalina has told me that she thinks of me as a brother yet she throws me out over a cheap drug? Perhaps I should have asked first before curing them, but I just wanted to help the family I thought I belonged to. I was wrong because apparently Kalina values cheap drugs more than her "brother."

I'm glad I ran into Azrinoth and Ixia outside Khazeet's bar later. They told me that Kalina was looking for me and was now waiting inside the inn. Upon entering, I saw Kalina sitting alone at the bar. I approached, my face grim, and made my presence known. She slowly turned to me and it took a while for her to respond. Finally, she apologized for being too harsh and explained that Raifael had once forcefully used divine energies on her. She said my actions reminded her of him and she panicked. After her ordeal with his possessed self, it's understandable. I took a deep breathe, released my anger, and accepted the apology.

We then returned to Kalina's and Dom's room and she took the time to explain what had happened after I had gone to my duties. As we discussed possible counters to Neli's actions we joked with each other and slowly our wounded bond healed itself. Once it was time for me to leave, I gave her the bag that held the six doses of Devil Weed I had purchased from Mniitvak. Of course, I removed the note I had placed in there earlier. Kalina managed to notice the parchment and asked what it was for. I told her it was unimportant now, which lead to a childish argument with both of us whining at each other. I don't know why I wrote that note.

"It seems I have misjudged my worth to you as a brother. I give you these to make up for your time that it seems I have wasted."
It is like Kalina said. We are siblings and we will have our arguments, but our bond is eternal. I shall strive to remember that.

I ran into another old friend, the snow white skinned Zilvai. When I had last seen her, she had been nearly destroyed by Raifael's betrayal when he attacked her. I spent the day with her until she calmed down and even gave her a Sunite beauty treatment. I remember how the light shown once more in her eyes and how beautiful she looked. When I saw her again today, well... she certainly looked beautiful, but she has to learn to take better care of her hair!

We spent the time catching up a little while talking with everyone outside of Khazeet's bar. She was surprised to find out I had been adopted into a family and I was to be married. She then started to act strange and withdrawn. I had the press the point until she finally admitted she was jealous. She had lost her entire world and was left with nothing. My sister appeared and I wanted to introduce the two, but Zilvai said she needed to retire to the inn and rest. I watched her leave and my heart went out to her. Zilvai was a very good friend, almost like sister, and it pained me to see her so. I hope I get the chance to speak with her again.

Later that night, Rozalin found me at the inn. I and many others were listening to each other's tales, Elsibeth Drake being the first to share. I noticed she was getting bored and asked if she'd like to go on another adventure with me. We agreed on the Outlands and left the inn after saying goodbye to those gathered. However, I needed to make a trip to the laboratory and so we headed for the Lower Ward via the Lady's Ward.

Along the way, we came upon the ruins of my father's estate and I found myself having to stop and lament the loss. The irony that Jach became my father after he had died pained me greatly. Rozalin was there to comfort me. I suddenly remembered that, after she had agreed to marry me, she had wanted us to make love for the first time. Things had gotten so busy and we never had the chance, though. I apologized for neglecting her.

She then asked me a very odd question. She wanted to know if I found her boring. I told her never. She is the light of my life, my Sunshine. I asked why she would think to ask such a question and she explained she had played some kind of drinking game with others. Never have I ever, I think it was called. She said that as the game continued, she realized how sheltered a life she had lived and felt embarrassed at being so inexperienced. I told her that it wasn't her fault. She had been trapped in a fantasy for a large part of her life. In time, she would have just as many experiences as others, and I promised to be there for each one.

That seemed to comfort her a little, but, as I looked at her in the moonlight, I realized some things can't be put off. I asked which she would prefer: the experience of exploring a new place or the experience of making love for the first time. She blushed and said she couldn't decide, so I suggested we let Tymora make the decision as I withdrew a coin. Tails, we would continue to the Outlands. Heads, we would return to our room. Heads it was, my love.

The warmth and the feeling of oneness, I didn't want it to end.

I spent another wonderful day with my beloved. After my usual duties, I came upon Rozalin and Dave, a dark skinned Orc warrior, sharing a drink with each other. I learned he was one of the participants in the game Rozalin mentioned before. We exchanged greetings and spoke for a time, but he became hungry and left for the inn after saying goodbye. As Rozalin and I stood alone, she blushed and asked if we could have the other adventure since we had the one yesterday. I said yes and, after a quick stop at the laboratory, we we're on our way to the Outlands.

Upon entering the maze, I warned Rozalin of the traps and we proceeded with caution. While I am not skilled in detecting traps, my reflexes are divinely blessed and what traps did go off were dodged or deflected with ease. Having been here before, it didn't take long for me to deduce the way to the other side. We passed through the great central chamber and continued north to the end of the maze. I showed Rozalin the illusionary nature of one of the walls by holding my sword up and easily pushing it through the illusion. She was impressed by the magic and I silently agreed with her. If it hadn't been for chance, I would have never been able to tell the difference between the fake walls and real ones. However, such walls are often trapped with spikes and I had her climb up onto my shoulders. While I couldn't dodge the floor spikes, my adamantine armor kept my feet safe. I set her down and we rested for a moment. I warned her about the path ahead and the numerous ambushes. We agreed that I would take point while she would pick off our enemies from behind with her bow. We stepped out from the maze and entered the Outlands.

The sun was shining bright in the sky and I had to take a moment to let my eyes adjust. I then brought my shield to bear as we made our way up the path. Sure enough, the Khaasta archers and mages were at their usual points across the rivers in the canyon, firing arrows and magic at us. I stood in front of Rozalin, deflecting what blows I could with my shield and accepting those I couldn't. Her bow sang as arrow after arrow whistled past my shoulders, striking true and sending the Khaasta sprawling onto their backs or tumbling down into the river. We slowly eked our way up the trail until at last reached the entrance to the ruins.

As we made our way up the steps, I was greeted by the familiar site of those four dragon statues, still ablaze with that never ceasing fire in their maws. Four Khaasta charged down to meet us: two warriors, a mage, and a warlock. They were dealt with and we made our way deeper into the ruins. We came upon the familiar sight of the mines where the Khaasta high priest resided, but my attention was drawn to the left, lamenting unfinished business. We then entered the mines.

As we stepped through, we were attacked by the high priest and his minions. The minions were easily dealt with, but the battle with the high priest was long and tedious. He finally fell, arrows littered through his corpse. Bruised and bloodied but otherwise okay, the two of us explored the mine, but took care to avoid the magic wall that kept back the searing heat on the other side. We made out way deeper into the mines and looked through the many rooms. Most we're for storage though two contained a number of mats for sleeping. With all the enemies cleared out and the area secure, I chuckled and asked if she'd like to share one. She laughed, thinking I was joking. I wasn't.

Within minutes, our armor and clothing lay scattered on the ground as we unleashed our passions. The blades of grass that made up the mat were scattered all over. Last night had been slow and gentle, but Rozalin was ready for much, much more. With our final cries of ecstasy, she fell upon me and I wrapped my arms around her. For a long time, we just laid there silently, enjoying the warmth of each other.

The beauty of our love and passion inspired me and I felt the need to ask Rozalin how she now felt about faith. The timing of the question struck her as odd, but I am a Sunite. She told me she had never considered it before, which is understandable, considering her situation. I found myself telling her about my philosophy and asked her if she'd be willing to join me in my faith as she has joined me in my hope. She asked what she would have to do. I smiled and told her she would just have to listen to the dogma of my goddess and follow it and pray to Sune if she believed.

"Beauty is more than skin deep. It issues from the core of one's being and reveals one's true face to the world, fair or foul. Believe in romance, as true love will win over all. Follow your heart to your true destination. Love none more than yourself except Sune, and lose yourself in love of the Lady Firehair. Perform a loving act each day, and seek to awaken love in others. Respond to love at least once in a day. Encourage beauty wherever you find it. Acquire beautiful items of all sorts, and encourage, sponsor, and protect those who create them. Keep your own body as comely as possible and as attractively displayed as situations warrant. Let hairstyle and clothing best suit your personal appearance, striving to stir and delight others who look upon you. Moreover, hide not away, but always seek to present yourself to those around you in a pleasing variety of garbs and activities so as to move them with love and desire. Love those who respond to your appearance, and let warm friendship and admiration flower where love cannot or dares not."
After quoting the dogma to her, she pursed her lips to consider all that she heard. She then smiled and nodded her agreement. I was filled with such joy that I embraced and kissed her with a passion that rivaled all the kisses I shared with her as we made love. She returned with equal passion as we drew close to each other once more and it felt as if our hearts were beating in unison. I wanted to stay there with her in that moment, but it was getting late and it was time for us to return to Sigil. We got dressed and started the journey back, no longer just lovers but now brother and sister of the same faith.

Once we returned to our room at the inn, the door was quickly shut and locked. We soon found ourselves in each other's arms once again, and we spent the night "praying" to our goddess.

The death of a good man is like a stone throne into a tranquil pond. From the center, many ripples spread forth with each ring coming at its own good time, distrubing the balance that was once there. Family and friends went into mourning while the commerce of Sigil went into chaos. Of course, no one really knows when the ripples will end. His death was several tendays ago, yet another ripple disturbed the pond today.

Zaara, father's wife to be, finally returned to Sigil after being trapped in Carceri. Attempts had been made to contact her, but no one knew what had happened. She returned to Sigil, ragged, but eager to meet her beloved. It tore my heart out to tell her the truth. She went numb before my eyes after she screamed in despair. I brought her to Kalina so we could talk and inform Zaara of the events that lead to father's death. Zaara was happy to hear that Kalina was father's heir and amused by the thought of Dom becoming the new Lord Sensbane, but she needed time alone and soon retired to the room we had arranged for her at the inn.

After she left, I spoke briefly with my sister but had to leave soon for my duties. Upon returning, I was pleased to learn that Kalina and Dom were starting to take control. A personal aid named Naeva, whom was brought forth by Zaara, works for Kalina now, they hired a guardsman by the name of Celulith Joosceilurr, and they intend to contact Alexia and other's that used to work for father and see if they'd be willing to return. House Sensbane is growing once more.

By the gods... when will this nonsense end? On the eigth, I ran into Raifael early in the morning after leaving the inn. I didn't recognize him at first because of the different armor, but was able to recognize his voice as he began to frantically talk to me. His brother, Legault, had failed to meet them at their home last night. After doing what I could to calm him, we began to question those around the inn as that had been where he was last seen. Unfortunately, we had little luck and Raifael needed to retire due to exhaustion. We met again later in the afternoon and I found out Legault had been found... dead. No one was able to ressurrect him and there was clear evidence the murder had been done by Ceszar, the soul stealer. However, because the murder occurred in Under Sigil, it is outside Harmonium jurisdiction and therefore no action will be taken against Ceszar.

And now, on the ninth, I learned the Raifael was arrested for attacking Ceszar in Sigil and is now on the run after escaping. This is ridiculous! Ceszar murdered his brother and, most likely, is in possession of Legault's soul, yet he's free to walk while Raifael is being pursued. This is just like Bergimon's arrest all over again. By the gods, this is Sigil, the city of doors! There are thousands of portals that any assassin could enter, lie in wait, kill their traget, then hop back through without any consequences as far as the Harmonium are considered. IT'S MADNESS!!

Something must be done.

The joy I felt last night while Rozalin and I planned our wedding turned swiftly to sadness the following morning. Worried for Raifael, I attempted to scry his location once more, unable to do so yesterday. I was able to find him this time but it seems someone followed me within the shadows. Raifael, I, and our invited guest conversed with each other and I was surprised to find the two had already met. Our guest made it clear that Raifael's time was running out and we needed to act quickly. Raifael and I tried to convince him he did not have the authority but he would not be swayed. He departed at Raifael's command.

I have learned that whatever was inside Raifael is indeed still there, so it's more than simple possession. Raifael says he was killed and had little doubt that it was done by Arvolexia's hand. While dead, he found himself in total darkness alone with Red Shroud, the ruler of Broken Reach. After she departed he remained alone in that darkness until life was finally brought back to him. From there, everything was a haze. He was surrounded by robed men that were either very ugly or masked. They made him drink something and, though he wanted to refuse, they somehow made him feel like he wanted to drink The way he spoke of it reminded me of the way he spoke of Arvolexia during that chess game so long back and the way Kalina spoke of the hooded men that held sway over Raifael as they kidnapped her.

Raifael eventually met and spoke with Arvolexia secretly. She did something that seems to have given him control once more but for how long? Is it a permanent cure or just a temporary one? Regardless, Raifael attacked and nearly killed her but, when it came down to the finishing blow, he just couldn't bring himself to do it. Arvolexia still holds some sway over him.

After twenty four hours of keeping Azrinoth asleep, I have decided enough was enough. I was off on my timing for one of the doses, but, as I saw him stumbling around dazed, I just couldn't bring myself to do it again. The saddest thing of all is that Azrinoth told me I should have given him another dose once what had happened had been explained to him. In the end, I made a large batch of syringes and left them in his room. I told him that from now it would be his decision to make, not mine.

Mirtul 14, 1374 DR

Today the love between Rozalin and I came into question. Perhaps it was just the pressure of all that was going on, but Rozalin began to doubt whether or not we were truly in love. She said things had happened too quickly between us and couldn't understand how I could be so certain. That answer was simply: I can't live without her now. I asked Sunshine how she would feel if I were to die and be taken from her. The question alone stunned her. She said she would be shattered and empty, and, at the thought of loosing my Sunshine, my eyes began to water and told her I would feel the same. As much as I love my family and friends, nothing could possibly harm me more than to loose her. Nothing can replace my dearest Sunshine. We embraced each other for the longest time in silence. Then her lips met mine and we fell into our bed.

From there we spent nearly the full day together. We made love, we bathed, made love while bathing, and made love after bathing. Exhausted from our passions, we slept together for an hour. I awoke first but, seeing how deep asleep she was, I left a note for her, got dressed, and walked down to the bazaar to stretch my legs. A brief fight occurred between some man and Kithra but he was easily handled. My Sunshine soon joined me and we spent the next hour or so at Khazeet's bar, holding each other's hand and later each other, kissing each other amidst the crowd without shame.

I suggested another dance and we returned to the inn and took our places on the stage. We started with the waltz I had first taught her and I was impressed by how well she recalled everything. I asked if she was ready to learn a new dance and tried to teach her the elven Dance of the Leaves. Unfortunately, when I tried to explain it to her using the metaphor of a falling pair of leaves in the wind, Sunshine couldn't understand my meaning. I suggested a trip to the beast lands for visual reference.

After fighting our way through the Unseelie, in the process discovering Rozalin showed promising skill with a Great Sword much like myself, we made our up the hill and came upon a beautiful tree silhouetted by the sun. The eternal dusk sun enhanced the leaves as they drifted to the ground and I began to explain the dance to Sunshine. We then stripped out of our armor and tried the dance once more. After a few simple instructions, Rozalin was able to learn the Dance of the Leaves with ease. As the dance came to an end and we held each other in our arms, my gaze drifted to the path that led to the waterfall. I suggested a swim and Sunshine agreed.

Of course, as wonderful as the day had been something tragic was bound to follow. As the events lead up to another Sunite "prayer," I suddenly recalled I had sent letters out so I could get in contact with Piergrin and forgotten his response that he would be meeting us at the inn that very night. After apologizing to Rozalin and getting dressed, we ran back to Sigil and entered the inn finding Azrinoth and Piergrin waiting for us.

We adjourned to a side booth and received an update about Chamo's actions, but all we learned is that Chamo had pulled back his forced, most likely in preparation for the coming of Rozalin's birthday and the taking of his vessel. I and Azrinoth made many suggestions but each was proven to be either too dangerous or impossible. It seemed as if the only safe answer was for Rozalin to go to the mount and remain there forever. Azrinoth, in frustration, pointed out that there was no other solution we could find because everything we knew was speculation on top of more speculation. He asked Rozalin why she didn't just give up and go to the mount when she didn't want either of us to risk our lives. Her answer was because she wanted to enjoy the short time of freedom she had left.

Mirtul 16, 1374 DR

A cruise! I can hardly believe it. Before I met Rozalin, I would never have thought to spend so much on something so frivolous, but I love her dearly and I want her to experience everything she has read about while she can. It all started after Elsibeth and I returned from our crusade into Carceri. She was very disappointed that we had gained so little on our adventure save the axe with the name "Life" engraved on it. As she sang her dirge in the bazaar, I went up to my room at the inn to change.

Upon returning, I sold some of the items I had acquired on the trip and turned to see my Sunshine walking to the bazaar. Despite what we had learned two nights back, the sight of her brought a smile to my face and I quickly joined her at the bar. Elsibeth was there as well, drinking wine as she worked on another song. She agreed to play at our wedding but said she'd only provide ambient music and would not sing. As she worked on her song, she told some of the tales she had heard in passing. They had a dry humor to them though the first was rather disgusting. Rozalin and I tried to make conversation with her, but the depression of what we had learned made it difficult.

Elsibeth eventually retired and wished us well. After being left along, I took Sunshine in my arms to embrace her. I whispered quietly to her, trying to encourage her to keep hoping for the best. It's so difficult for her though. I then remembered what she said about enjoying her last month of freedom and I asked her if there was anything she'd wished to do. She said she always wanted to go sailing on a ship and to feel the ocean breeze running through her hair.

I was struck with inspiration as I recalled what I had overheard of Moreus and his annual planar cruise. I quickly told Sunshine of it and asked if she'd like to go. As she smiled and said yes, I took her hand and we quickly dashed to the Lady's Ward. Upon reaching Moreus' home in Sigil, we saw his yacht already being boarded and was approached by one of his servants. Our disheveled appearance must have thrown him off as he was quite surprised when I handed over the large bag of jink. One hundred thousand jink was a small price to pay for my Sunshine's happiness.

After finding our private cabin on the ship and changing out of my clothes due to an unexpected fall into the hot tub, we looked out the portal and watched as we passed through the portal into Elysium. Through some kind of stone device set in the ceiling, we could hear the captain's voice telling us we were sailing through the ocean of Thalasia, the same ocean that can be seen from the beach through the portal at Spirits. We saw a great island and I wondered if we were passing the same one I've been too so many times. Rozalin laughed and said we should keep an eye open for Azrinoth's torn pants still hanging from that tree. However, the captain soon spoke once more and informed everyone we were passing an island known as Avalon, a place where a mighty king is said to sleep eternally.

I asked Rozalin if she wanted to go up on deck or take the time to unpack our things. She, of course, chose the deck, and the two of us were soon up on top, watching the great isle passing by. Sunshine ran over to the railing and leaned out to look at the ocean. As I saw the smile on her face and her hair whipping in the breeze, I knew this was where we needed to be. I walked over in time to see a very large shadow moving beneath the waters. Suddenly, a great whale broke the surface, spraying us with water before crashing back down into the ocean. I was amazed at the sight. It was the first time I had ever seen such a creature. Sunshine was ecstatic.

The captain informed us it would soon be time for dinner and the two of us went back to our cabin to change out of our wet clothes. However, after undressing and hanging up another set of clothes to dry, I turned in time to see Rozalin as she peeled off her clothing. As the light of the fire painted her ivory skin several hues of red, dinner was quickly forgotten as we fell into our bed. Part of me felt I was abandoning my duties to Sigil in coming on this cruise, but I have a duty to my Sunshine as well.
