He had a single constant, and now it became two. It was strange how peaceful things have fallen into place. At least on the surface. The new decoration of the Karasuthra sky above their house filled him with a strange sense of finiteness. And even though he hadn't undertaken the last adventure of his own free will at first, at least she could trust.
But the latest machinations left a sour taste in his mouth. He tapped the ring on his horn pondering, for a minute considering just sawing it off completely. He couldn't shake the feeling, that they got the short end of the stick, and that they won't be the ones that will really profit from all this. But if that will be the case, things will get very ugly. And then, not even Mir will be able to stay his hand.

Between cargo runs and a few adventures into the planes, a shadow has fallen again over us. Kinda starting to feel that's what happens to us every single time. Oh well, we get this sorted out like everything else. We kinda hold dear to this multiverse, however flawed it is. Kinda strange though, that even the Dusties have their pants full.
It was a sudden decision from both her and me. She spent quite some time with herself, and one day, she came to me with a wish to re learn what she had forgotten. I said yes without thinking, and while she made preparations, I reassessed myself as well, and found flaws that needed to be taken care of. What followed, were days of rigorous training for both of us. It was nice to see how she became more powerful by the day, and as her arcane knowledge grew, so did I slowly remember the days on the streets of Waterdeep. As she put it, now I could even hide behind her tail. And the final test came yesterday, when Fargul was bragging with his new skills. I asked him to attack me, and after a long time, I used two blades again. I almost laughed aloud, as I could foresee every one of his moves, and even had time to retaliate at times. It was reassuring that once again, I was able to protect her. And spell doom for those who'd cross us.

Caged again, and.. an expedition?
Since our return, a new mystery was boggling both of our minds. Now after gathering an ample amount of the items in question, and with the help of our trusted friends on board, we my have stumbled upon a key to all this.
And yet, even though we both we amassed the knowledge needed, the tome we want lies under the rubble of the war that Hildmor waged. So, guess it's time for some good old fashioned dungeoneering.

After a lengthy and interesting discussion with a man of faith and knowledge, Mash set upon the task he agreed to do. Yet, he had to try something else. As the bardess Ariana began her song in a language he never heard in his life, immediately he thought of what Jall has achieved, and wandered closer, his hands clenching the mysterious item of power, soaking his mind in the words as long as he could. When the song ended, he asked for both a translation, and the origin of the language, which turned out to be that of the being of the Seven Heavens.
Later the exchange between the bardess and a wizard changed into what Jall explained as Draconic and Abyssal, and he just smirked, holding to the item still. This should be an interesting experiment, to see what really goes on, he thought.
Later in the evening, after two years of just listening and picking up bits and pieces, Mir finally found the time to extrapolate on the bits of information that were said today, both in Draconic and Abyssal. He glanced at the pile of parchment on the desk in front of him, as he listened to the explanation and the myriad of confusing gramma structures. "You better work, he thought".

Lessons
After the hustle and bustle of the city quieted, they retreated to the wamrth of their home, to sum up the day and then get to work. He listened to her explanations of grammar and pronounciation, though at first he felt both languages to be alien at best. He heard Mir speak Abyssal countless times during their dealings with the Tanari'i, and every time a dragonkin crossed their path, Mir was more then ready to chat it up in the weird language that was Draconic. Now, he hoped that with the help of the items he might be able to get close to understanding, and maybe even uttering a few words in each of them. He still didn't know how exactly they worked, but indeed they did. So he just kept them close, his mind focused on the lessons, hoping for the best.
