Days have been slow lately. I was finally able to sell some of the clutter I had, but that was about it. Except for my mood, and an increase in homicidal tendencies, I don't think anything has changed much.
I met an elf, named Tomekk Nightfire, and although our first meeting didn't go that well, me being in a jerky mood, the second time we sat down with good drinks, and I listened to his story. A tale of loss and tragedy, one that made me think.
Though we may have gained a little respite, I really should try and focus, and finally find a permanent solution, lest I gamble on loosing what is most important to me.
I had a few talks with Zilvai lately, we also ventured to Abyss together for a bit. I was delighted, that she seemed to be more open then her usual self, but she told me it really depends on who she is with. I guess I can take that as a compliment then. Then I wanted to acquire and item of interest, she nudged me away from the merchant, and offered one of hers as a gift. I smiled at her, and gave hir a firm hug. Really, people either don't care, or don't want to peek behind the wall she built around herself. But if they would, they would find a kind and gentle soul behind it, I'm sure.
And yet, with so many to surround me, so many to touch my life and for me to touch theirs.. I feel the urge inside, to venture out, face something... and murder it just for the sake of feeling alive.

The Sun was glaring up in the skies, shining down on the holy lands of Mercuria. Mount Celestia was silent, as he leapt out of the portal. Inching forward, covering himself with the shadows around him, he creapt and creapt. His vision dulled, almost dim, with colors of black and red shimmering in the bright light.
The guard let out a yawn. Glancing around from his position up the hill. His shield at his foot, his heavy hammer in it's sheath. He took a turn, as he saw the flickering of the portal from his periferal vision. But nothing came through. "Stupid berks" he thought "Throwing trash on these serene lands again". He turned his back on the portal.
He could feel his own heart pounding faster, his nostrils taking in the scents around him, as he silently slid closer and closer. A red shilouhette in the vision of darkness, glaring like a pillar of fire in the distance. He smiled, bearing teeth.
A flash, that's all the guard saw. He glanced down at the long metallic blade, emerging from his throat. Little flames danced around on it. He gurgled something, but it couldn't have been intelligible, with his vocal chords cut through clean. He slowly fell to his knees, still held in upright position by the blade. He struggled, his hands fidgeting, then the movements slowly died off.
He retrieved his blade from the corpse. Kicked it once more, for good measure. With an eerie chuckle, he vanished into the shadows, from where he came. The protal flickered up once more. Clean run, he thought.

It started a fine enough day, like the others lately. Meeting a few friendly folk at Khazeets, sharing tales of the good old days. Then I asked Animus to make a new magical helmet for me, and I ventured to the Feasthall with Mir, to have it tailored into something more "my style". Then a little trip to Abyss, as "fun" and training. It all seemed so good.
It was not long after our return, she still holding on to the flowers I fetched, sitting at one of the tables, when her gaze wandered to the papers. Her face went pale, nudging SIGIS to me, and as I read the lines she pointed at, a sudden fit of anger overcame me. I jumped up, shouting, not wanting to believe what I saw there. That stupid elf cracked a joke, and as I glanced at my other half, I knew we better leave, or he dies.
Adam Winters, the bounty hunter we met was dead. Killed, in a manner that was reserved to our friend, but he couldn't have been the one to do it. As we entered the hideout, both of us thought of the same person. And again, it was just the two of us in meeting, the other Misfits not in sight.
It took me great effort, to calm Mir down, and I myself was at the brink of doing something truly horrid. But yet, we agreed on one thing. If Nemesis doesn't say anything sensible next time around, we will act on our own. This has gone on long enough, and it will stop.
A plan was agreed on, one that make me smile in admiration, how cunning and deceitful she can be if she wants to. I added only a little bit to it, making us both grin. Somehow, in a deep dark recess of my mind, I was afraid of us both. But at the same time, I wanted this. I wanted to see the one responsible bleed and scream. I promised, didn't I?

Somehow I thought there'd be more resistance to our idea. At least Naya putting up a fight, or being against it. But it seems we all thought the same at that moment. So the gears turn again, and with little alterations, the scheme has been set in motion.
Kelth might not like the plan one bit, and I myself would have rebelled if I had to do what he is about to, but it is the only surefire way.
Awoke in the middle of the night, vision dim with hues of red and black. The eyes of a predator, I smirked, wiping the cold sweat from my face. But I thought of what she said to me, closed my eyes again, and tried to focus on something else. I heard her turn to the side, hand brushing agains my side, and the urge faded away. I sighed, and went back to sleep. Soon, I thought, soon I will clench it's thirst with someone who truly deserves to die.

Karasuthra.. the eternal night.
The portal cut itself an oval sphere of light into the everlasting midnight of the plane, as it was pryed open from the other side. The armor clad figure stepped through it, his heavy boots touching upon the thick grass covering the ground. His silvery, metallic wings shook from the deep breath he took. The pitch black death mask surveyed his sorroundings, eyes glimmering in the moonlight, as he switched to Darkvision.
He strode between the fluorescent plants, followed by some curious fireflies, one settling on his shoulder, chittering in a high pitched tone, his light flickering like that of a fading candle. His walk ended at the place the other one was shown not long ago, the clearing near the little pond of water, amidst the glowing plants. He glanced up at the full moon amongst the thick clouds, letting it's dim and eerie light brush across his mask and face.
A deep and delighted sigh escaped his body, arms opening wide, standing there like a statue, taking in the rays, as his lips formed a wide smile under the line of the mask. A finger brushing against the ring he purchased not long ago, his expression changing to a grin, as he uttered the command word in a murmur, in the tongue of his far away ancestors.
The firefly took flight in suprise, as the glowing ring slowly made his features melt away, the armor vanishing, his figure growing taller, the wings of the armor turning into real ones, sprouting from his back, his heavy gauntlets growing claws, his horns changing shape, realigning themselves on his head. The eerie mask he wore seemed to melt into his face, features fading, turning into that of a beast. His tail grew in length and thickness as well, settling on the grass covered ground.
"Too bad this is just magic" He thought and laughed, which in his current form was more like a hauting roar to the skies. His call was answered from the distance, the howl of a wolf found it's way to him, carried by the clear, fresh air of Karasuthra. He streched in delight, wings spreading on his back, cracking his joints.
He grinned, and ran off into the night, with the joyful roars he let out in his track.

Oh, the Carnival.. pretty fun so far, I must say. First the drinking contest, which I bested better then I had hoped, was with Mir and Kithra in the last three to survive the challenge, though the hurdle of staying upright was a bit too much for me, and I slumped back to the comfort of my chair, hugging the table in delight. Mir soon followed, and Kithra somehow stood still just long enough to win the competition. Still, she did give us one bottle each from her win, as we were second and third. And then we carried the hammered Dom to Inn, which was an endevour in itself, with falling down on stairs and wondering why the Bazaar is spinning. Great fun indeed.
Then there was an auction, where people volunteered to be bid upon, the money flowing to the Gatehouse orphanage. I entered as a bidder, since my other half decided to be bid upon, and I wanted to make the bidder sweat a bit. In the end she ended up in my possession, after I bluntly raised the price to ten thousand, which nobody wanted to best. Frankly, I was hoping for a bit more, but hey. Also "bought" Lance and Nick for the evening, and I honestly think I did something good there. The money would have went to that shady enchantment seller otherwise.
The treasure hunt was announced, and we rushed into the depths of Under Sigil, following the clues. Mir and I split up, scanning the depths for the place the clues mentioned, and finally after another little talk in the wererat ward, we hurried to the underground village. "Well, the inn is called the Dired Mug, but there was nothing but some patrons there" she said. "Yes, but X never marks the spot, so it must be somewhere around the inn". And we were right, running down the forked road next to the inn, barging into a house, and in the back room the prize for our effort. Once again proving our worth as a team.
The gambling auction led by a devil, a strange one indeed. But luck was on my side, I acquired two items, only loosing one. And even then, I lost to Mir, which doesn't really came as a suprise to me, and didn't really mind either. Note to self, I need to find an electrifier.
We returned to Khaz's place for a short respite, Linda showed up and joined us, silently conversing what has happened in the last days, when I noticed a figure on top of the Inn across the street. He was very interested in our table, or in us. I warned the others, Linda confirming my sighting, and as we decided to check if he will follow suit, and stood up, he vanished in a flash of light. We hurried over to the Inn, me climbing the railings to check for clues while the trace is hot, Mir following suit. He used magic to vanish, and as she told me it is just a short range spell, we glanced about, to see him vanish from yet another roof. Following Mirs advice, I sproted wings and glided over, the others following suit on the ground. Nick turned up and still on his evening duty, formed the rear guard for the ones on the ground. I noticed the guy on a farther away rooftop, but he noticed me as well, and as I lept towards him, he vanished, leaving only two silver discs behind.
Actually, I have never been bound in my life, so this was a first time experience. Standing in the blue beam of light, feeling like glued to the ground was not nice. Fortunately Linda knew some powerful spell, which broke both my trap and the spell.
The other one was in tact, but refused to be scryed upon... so we were back at square one.
Two things were clear to me after this. First, our enemy now knows he can't summon my love anymore, and is going to use more drastical methods to acquire her. And second, the man on the roof might have noticed her protective tattoo, which in turn means she is again in danger. None of this is making me happy, not a bit. We have to make her able to take flight, and find the building she saw in her visions, and finally gut that bastard who is after her. Of course only after she had gained all the knowledge she wishes from him.. or her.

Not in servitude, but to enslave me fully
Only a handful of words, but enough to make me want to jump up, scream and break something. Still I managed to smirk, and listen to the idle banter of the others, though I could feel the glass giving in under my grasp. The useless one, not even able to protect what I treasure most. But thanks to the advice she has given, and the occasional nightly stroll, I could keep it under control. But I sincerely wonder, when I will begin to crumble.
Just like my old friend. Funny to consider, a Tiefling giving advice on life to a hardened man.. but I cannot sugarcoat things, I had to say what I thought at that moment. Maybe it is easier for me, not yet having lost as much as him, but still. Even if the path is clouded and muddy, one drags himself on. Standing still will only mean death.
And once again, we ended up alone, just the two of us. Lilliara darted away, most assuredly hurt by the other two, in some way that wouldn't phaze us. We went to look for her, but she disappeared on the streets.
One has told us about his rage and feelings, the other one tries hard, but the distress is pretty much visible. I realyl wondered, if our own harmony could be some day disrupted like this, but I abandoned the thought. No use in dwelling on it. Thinking about a way to help the situation, I came up empty. So for now, I just wait and see.
Smiling and going about my everyday life, as always, trying to supress the feeling of uneasyness, worry and pain. I cannot help but watch the rooftops, being relieved that she is still here.. and feel utterly useless. You cannot be everywhere at the same time, she once told me. Hells, I wish I could.

We moved back into the Inn. The refuge was cramped, and it seemed the 'ardheads finally got the scent. No matter, I was tired of sneaking into bed anyway. We prepared the room to the best of out knowledge, traps, wards, whatnot. Hope it holds.
Then I slinked away without a word, and found myself a portal. I sighed and jumped through.
Not quite how I imagined the homecoming, really. I was on the Sword Coast again, if only for the briefest of time. I hurried along the road, time was of the essence.
Waterdeep hasn't changed at all since I left, it was as stale and bleak as ever. I looked up an old friend, to collect a debt he owned me. He spoke long and elaborate about the things I asked, but only made me more worried, after he had finished. I asked if he knew a way to prevent these things, but he only shook his head. The only thing he offered as a solution, was beyond my reach at the time. I went through the market three times, asking every hedge wizard and arcanist I found, but none of them possessed the knowledge of casting the Prismatic Wall spell.
I was tired and angry as I trotted back to the portal. A trip for nothing, beside to ensure my belief that she must not fall into their hands. Some bandits tried to ambush me not far from the portal. Bad day for them, for I was very pissed. And I think I grinned when I tore the last one asunder with my bare claws...

Busy Days
Some children have been taken from the streets, a reward was offered. So we got together into a party, all those who wanted the jink, or just ensure they safety, and ventured into the depths of Undersigil. A big fiery creature with claws, they said.
After we knocked a few wererats out of the way, one squealed on the whereabouts of the beast, so we entered the dilapitated Inn. Only problem, it wasn't just one, but three. As we stood there, not far away the three Pitfiend Warlords staring at us, it seemed hopeless. And still we attacked. I fell, and from the corner of my eye I saw the others also succumbing to the assault.
To my biggest suprise, Zachan came back for us, and even sacrificed his safety, to ensure our escape. Maybe not all Thayan wizards are that bad. We regrouped, I got some new weapons out, found a scroll in my bag, and we stormed the place anew. This time, the Warlord was at the short end of the stick, and he quickly fell from our combined assault. The other two however.. escaped. At least the kids were alive, and we brought them back.
Another attempt, and again I was somewhere else.. Nearly trashed the first floor of the inn after I heard about it. So.. useless. If Kelth and Mir hadn't come after me...
And if that wasn't enough for a day, the streets later were overrun by golems and other mechanical creatures en masse. We cut through their lines with the good folks assembled at Khazeets, with the only two 'ardheads worth their salt, Cratten and Nick. The trail led to the Lower ward, where we were confronted with a huge golem, called the Master Golem. But thanks to the combined effort s of the people, we made short work of him as well.

Librarian Days
Thanks to the hobby my dearest has taken up, the Hall of Records welcomed me as a constant visitor, bringing myriad of books to their porch. In return, I was given access to most of the books within, and as they got used to me coming every day, I even managed to extract the information I was looking for, without them noticing a few books or pages going missing.
I scouted the history of Toril, looking for anything related to the great lost eastern Empires, Narfell, and the Demonbinders. What I uncover though was less then pleasant. I took it all in, and gave it to Mir, so that she as well may be braced to what is coming for her. I ensured her once again, that they won't have their ways with her, and in my own mind, I ensured myself that I won't shun drastic measures.
Then my attention turned to another thing, that dream I saw, of endless deserts and wastes. My search was successful, and after the help of my beloved, I held in my hands an old, tattered book, bound in Wyvern leather, describing a place called Athas. I read through it with great interest, and we both decided this place is worth a visit at some point in time.
Last but not least I turned my attention to Mirs dream, and looked up any and all information concerning Spelljamming. I found a place to go, on Toril no less. I am making the preparations, I think I shall visit my own prime for a while shortly. I just hope my absence won't cause further trouble, but I also want to make her happy.
Gods, my head still buzzes like I was hit by a tribe of orcs.. never ever Abyssal Absinthe again.. I still have to apologize to all those people who witnessed and helped me yesterday... oh well, at least I survived that damned drink.
