She looks over at her companion, laying next to her in the bed, Aras reaches over to the desk quietly sliding the dresser open plucking a book and ink pot out before picking up the quill. She looks at the title of the book mulling over the meaning of it. she mutters the name under her breath. "Ordered Thoughts". she places quill to parchment writing her latest entry, not sparing a glance to those written before it.
"I came here of my own free will, my old Order did not offer me any satisfaction, I was content there but not happy, I could have lived there but not found something I enjoyed and felt good about. That is the reason I came to Sigil, or the Cage as some call it."
"I remember quite clearly how I learned that there was more than just the world I was on, a Planewalker showed up at our Monastery one day, I was out sweeping the path when he walked up. I, for some reason, got the distinct impression that he was different from those around me. More . . . Something. More there? More experienced? Regardless, he caught my interest. I watched him for the next few days before finally walking up to him asking about where he was from."
"He spared me a glance before smiling slightly, a look of interest in his eyes for some reason, he told me that he was not from here and I responded that I could tell as much but I couldnt figure out his accent or those strange words he sometimes said."
"He held a badge out towards me with the design, that is by now very familiar, towards me. I took the badge in my hands, running a hand over it before looking at him. I asked the person where he got it from and he shook his head in negation. He responded with a look and saying that I belonged here, not where he was from."
"I have always held the feel of the badge, when I first saw it, in my mind. I never saw the person again nor care to."

She flips to the first page in her journal looking at the childish handwriting, her bed seems to be empty tonight, wherever her companion is she is not here that's for sure. She runs a callused finger over the page quietly reading it.
"I do remember my parents before I arrived here, they brought me here because there was not enough gold to feed them as well as I, as the days pass I feel less and less of a conection to them. That's not to say that I hate them for what they did, it's that the ties I once held to my parents are bing broken one by one the longer I stay here and work with the Monks who call this place home."
"I have asked the others here that are the closest to my own age, though even they are far ahead of me in years, it looks like there hasnt been any new people in this Order for a while now, they tell me that it is something that happens often. Sometimes people grow a connection to their fellow Monks and sometimes they remain distant from all for one reason or another. I myself feel a dwindling connection to my parents and no connection to the people in this Monastery, it might change over time though or it might not."
"It doesnt much matter I suppose, once I becone experienced enough I will one day set out and make my own path, in the meantime I have been instructed to sweep the courtyard free of leaves, after that I have to get into more training and probably go to bed with a new batch of bruises. It's a routine day, calm, peaceful and slightly dull but I suppose I have accepted this as my path now since I could have run off so long ago and have not done so."
"I think I should name this journal "Ordered Thoughts". For some reason I like the sound of that."

"I am now old enough to set off on my own from the Monastery if I so choose, I have discussed the matter with my superiors several times, they have agreed to let me go and wander this world. What I did not tell them was that I had an ulterior motive, I want to see4 if I can find the place that the person with the badge calls home."
"It will take quite some time to find out everything I need to know, it has been several years since I saw him, I have been asking around for anything known. I've gone to the sages of our world in the search of information. Unfortunately, I have gotten very little, I might have to search for the mages who might be able to get me there so I can experience it for myself, the Sages did say that I will see almost everything there is to see in the city known as Sigil."
She claps her journal shut as she looks around the Inn. "Not the longest entry i've made but my mind is set on important matters like finding the gold to pay for the portal."
