I never had a reason to keep a written accord of my thoughts until recently. I've been living in Sigil for quite sometime now. I've been serveing in the Harmonium for most of my residence here and what an experience that has been, but...no...i have more pressing concerns to put to paper and (I hope) gain some better understanding by being able to read my own thoughts. I was told at a young age of a legend revolving around the ancestors of my famly, Emeralda Lazuili and Concrete Stonejaw who were apperently my great great grandparents. I...have had some interesting things happening to me over the past week, some things I can and some I cannot explain, but from what I have realised so far is that everything that seems to be happening to me is because of the events that transpired over the years, all of which i have been able to trace to the events with my twice great parents over a hundred and fourty nine years ago...
Its weird, when I think about the stories of my ancestors, I can...almost picture them as if I was there, although some of these moments have been...strange and some very embarrasing, and some border on being Voyeuristic....
One hundred and fourty nine years ago.......[
The man watched the woman next to him sleep soundly as he ran his smooth fingers down her side, tracing the curve of her right side from shoulder, to stomach and down past her waist and over her perfect hips. The room was dark but he could see clearly with no light what so ever, the womans natural body heat radiateing from her as clear as day to him. The man was Earth Genasi, his skin a dark iron color, with his emerald gem eyes and his brilliant ruby red slab of what could be considered hair. The woman sleeping next to him was equally exotic, her skin a perfect tint of brown earth, her eyes a bright splash of sapphire and her hair a shiny slab of mithril colored beauty, bordering on pure white.
He gently shook her awake as he kissed her on the cheek which caused her to roll on her back and stretch languidly, emphasiseing her utterly perfect womanly curves in great detail. He whispered something to her and climbed out of bed, quickly moving across the room where he began to nitpick over the clothes he and his lover should wear for their special audiance. The two had been adventurerors, friends and very close lovers for near fifteen years now, but never have they been presented with a circumstance like the one that lay before them.
They had been summoned by one of the many elemental lords of the earthen plane but this wasnt just any elemental lord this was lord Ogremach. A primal earth elemental of tremendious stature and power and he had summoned them specifically, sending a personal envoy thousands of miles just to find them. He watched his lover get dressed, raising a brow when she obviously pretended to have "trouble" putting on her underclothes which of course he ended up helping her with with a blush and a smile. The two were quickly dressed in formal yet adventure ready attire, clothes of earthly hues which fit their forms perfectly as well as court ready sheaths for their swords which now swung freely at their sides.
The massive doors swung open and they strode calmly forward with raised chins and pride and a sure step in their progress until they crossed the length of red carpet which spanned the length of the massive chamber. They stood before the elemental lord who, while sitting on his pure adamantine throne easily reached thirty feet tall as he was attended by court functionaries on floating discs or by those who had the ability to cast spells that achieved the same effect. The couple quickly dropped to a one knee in perfect unison and placed a hefty sack items infront of them, one each.
"We thank you might Lord Ogremach for inviteing us into your grand court! Please accept these rare gems as homage to your benevolence and as a sign of our gratitude for your immeasurable hospitality!" they said in unison while a court functionary took the sacks and levitated them up for the lord to inspect. A long moment passed before the chamber rocked with a loud booming voice.
"Emeralda Lazuli and Concrete Stonejaw, you are welcome in my court and I thank you for such a rapid response to my summons. We have very little time so i will say my request of you so you may be about it!. I would like you to travel to an anchient reliquary of Grumbar and recover any and all relics that may be contained within. We have recently lost contact with those who maintained the shrine, descendants of the original builders of those who made the temple. You are to find the temple, invesitgate the sudden silence and bring back any and all information you can salvage from the complex, do this and I will reward you beyond your wildest dreams!, the lord finished his speech then went quiet except for the occasional shift on his massive throne.
I dont know what happened within that temple, but if what I have been taught is true then it is directly linked to the unusual situations I have found myself in of late. My father always said that earthqukes are known to cause severe aftershocks many many years later, heh I guess he was right.

Granite sits down on his bed for a moment, as he rubs the bridge of his nose in thought before reaching for his journal and inkquill.
I had dinner with her today. I wanted to make it special, something she would really enjoy and remember. She always dress's so nice and shes so beautiful, so perfect that my normal attire normally pales in comparison to hers, so for this night I enlisted the lady guvner Aras who helped me pick out a very nice suit to wear to dinner and I used my expensive and rare oils and lotions to give myself a very nice shine. She really seemed to like it both the outfit and the shine and she seemed to love dinner too. I made a great pot of Earths Bounty which she says she likes very much and after that I treated her to an array of scones which she was absolutly delighted to have...said she hadnt had them in along time so it was a real treat for her, I'm glad she enjoyed it because I sure did...I love her company. We danced and talked for abit after supper I told her alittle bit about whats happening to me....as much as they said I could tell her.
I thought about Raifael too after supper, after she had gone back to her room. Those who know that he attacked me twice keep saying I need to forgive him and that he's clearly possesed by something or someone but I know in my heart I dont believe that, I cant. He knew exactly what he was doing when he attacked me in the alley and again in Ixias room. He also kidnapped, assaulted and attempted to murder many people AND he assaulted the woman i love, he even burned Sensbane manor to the ground. He is a traitor to his friends and to Harmonium not to mention Sigil. He sits behind bars now and with both reports of his assault upon me as well as his actions against the people of Sigil, its an open and shut case.
He's a traitor and a murderor, hes going to be given the right to test a Mercykillers recently sharpened axe and he deserves it, I know its wrong but I find myself wishing I was the one holding the handle...
I loathe him....no thats not the right word.
I hate him

Granite spends along time in his room one night, his arms behind his head stareing at the ceiling before grabbing his journal.
This magic bit is tricky. I've been exposed to so much over the years that I find it very easy to understand now that I've actually focused on its study. The....gifts i've been given by them are both wonderful, useful and utterly terrifying. I recently was ambushed by a dozen wild nypmhs while on Brux and as they surrounded me i could only see one way out. I reached for the sound of rolling thunder in the back of my mind, its been there for awhile but only now did i try and touch it, and the result was...upsetting. I struck each of them to death with a thick bolt of lightning, some of them had very little remains left but most were nothing but scorch marks....
Later that day, I had followed Dom Ixia and Animus after they began chaseing someone and i caught up to them as they appeared to stand and stare at empty air while talking to no one. I thought them under a trance so i used a dispel scroll on them which only seemed to make them mad at me..maybe im not cut out for this magic bit.
I also encountered a situation with a strange lady who, to the best of my knowledge had her father or something bind a demon to a child so she could take it unto her own body. The woman clearly cared nothing for the child and was very irresponsable and many seemed to agree that what ever happened to the woman she deserved...so why then did i get strange looks when i suggested feeind the woman to the demons in exchange for the child? As far as I'm concerned she isnt worthy of the child or any safety those invovlved have provided her.
I washed my hands of the affair, the woman can rot for her hue-devilery, let them deal with her.
Also, I have an idea....something I want to do for her. She is so smart and beautiful and popular that she almost never has time for herself. I'm going to fix that, I've already taken the steps to setting up a VIP special person package to give her, its going to be a day of pampering that one of her magnificence deserves, and hopefully one she will never forget. I hope she likes it...I really do.
I know she said she doesnt know what she wants, but my feelings for her will not change, i will continue to be as affetionate and pampering towards her reguardless of weither or not she chooses me to be her lover or even decides to have a long term relationship with me.
I hope someday she sees that there is nothing she can ask for that I cant provide for her, and that there is nothing i wouldnt be willing to do for her.

Granite sits down with his back against a massive oak tree on the plain of Brux and as he looks out over the beautiful yet deadly fields he looks down to the journal in his hands and begins to write.
I havent been writing much lately, which I regret alot. The past few months have been very difficult for me, I have had much to contend with. The abilities and spells i have become fluent with are often associated with that of druids which are of course beings of nature. I understand why "They" gave me the gifts of the elements so that I may better guard the vault that keeps "It" confined, but within the past few months I have begin to wonder if the gifts are a blessing or a boon. I have met many inspirational beings since I came to these abilities who have taught me much about the elements and a myriad of other grand lessons...
I first met a group of animals, former druids themselves who were suffering from the chaos that runs rampant on the lands of Brux. I spent a great deal of talking to them and before they fell completely into madness I learned much, and as a thanks for their teachings I ended their lives before they could cause any damage against their will.
The leader was a druid named Girvo, an elf who was known for his ability to transform into a massive dire bear to fight his enemies. He along with his companions, Shira a dire wolf changer and their other comapnions Flimnin a gnomish dire badger and Hrugdar a dire boar taught me so much before they lost their free will. I am so thankful of their teachings that I assume their likeness and identites when nessicary in honor of their memory.
The next inspirational being was a treant named Longleaf. He saved me from a rather nasty ambush on the fields of Brux and I spent alot of time talking to him. He taught me the ways of the plants and the language of the trees, as well as how to assume the form of a shambling tendriled bush to better combat my foes. He was eventually ambushed and burned to the ground by a group of foolish heros, which I felt the need to avenge him and I did so with all the fury and power I could muster. He taught me many lessons but if I had to pick one to cherish among them all....he taught me patience, I have like wise been assumeing his identity and form as a treant in honor of his memory.
The next beings have been perhaps the most inspiratonal, and it is my belief it is because of these four beings I face my current dilema. My time spent with each of these beings I will not detail because in truth I am not sure I can even begin to put it to words.
The first being I crossed was a huge fire elemental named Ember Storm, and it is from him I learned my appreciation for the forces of fire and how they can both create and utterly incinerate what ever it interacts with.
I next came across Stonegar, a huge elemental who I naturally got along with right from the start. He taught me that despite being slow to act the force of earth are perhaps one of the strongest in the multiverse. The earth is infinate in mass and generally peaceful until you disturb or anger it, after which it seems as if the entire land is collapseing around you in a pulveriseing and suffocateing mass of finality.
The third being I came across was known as Driploop, a water elemental of tremendous size and it is from him I learned how to defeat my enemies slowly by erodeing away at their defenses until they are weak and vulnerable then simply drowning their exposed life forces. I belive Driploops lessons were easier for me to learn thanks to the teachings from Longleaf because I see now in the end water will get you even if it takes years.
Last but not least was Hurricune an air elemental of mighty gusts. He taught me about speed and listening to what is all around us even if we dont see anything the wind is always there and there is always something to be heard on the wind. He also taught me how to manipulate the weather in small increments to make a comfortable breeze or as a rageing storm of destruction to smite my foes...
Four mighty elemental beings, each seperate and each an enemy of the other and yet they have all taught me things that seem to mesh together, at least they are suppose to work together. I have taken all their lessens to heart and have as tribute to them been taking their shape but not with out consequence. The forces of the elements, the primal urges that comes with each have begun to war within the depths of my mind, one moment I am calm and patient like a calm tide and the next I am blazeing a trail of fire across the planes attempting to burn and incinerate what ever I can. I have experienced moments of slow ponderous thought which sometimes shatters into a vortex of chaos and a desire to rain and thunder on everyones parade.
I thought I had mastered my urges and solidifed myself with disipline during my years as a soldier, especially among the harmonium but I have to ask myself if there is anything more primal, more basic then the chaos that drives the elements?.
Harmonium...
Raifael finally had his trial today and its about time. He was found guilty on all charges and now serves his life in prison for the rest of his days. I had hoped for more and even made my testimony and presence known at the trial but the judges decision was rock solid....life in prison.
I was tempted to ambush him along with a few others while he was being transfered to his holding cell but thats not the way...its not my place plus I know if I give into my urges to hire a blade to end his life either in bars or if he is ever set free it will cost me whats left of my free will.
I will not lose myself to the chaos swirling, rumbling, burning and sloshing in my mind right now just because I could not keep my hatred for Raifael in check.
He rots in prison for the rest of his days...
Thats good enough for me I guess...
I hope....
I loathe him.....not, thats still not the right word....
I HATE him.

Granite sits cross legged as he looks out over Brux while his journal sits on his lap open to a fresh page.
So much hate towards Raifael, some deserved and some not. I was wrong much to my shame for you see it turns out he was indeed possessed that night he attacked me in Ixias room. I met the entity not more then three days ago in the market and it took over my mind and body and it was so strong...it blew through my mental barriers as if they were not even there. I felt Emberstorm taking over and before I could react i was taking his form and trying to incinerate the market place and much to my horror I tried to kill Vara..sweet lovely Vara. I am thankful there were so many powerful travelers at the market and they were able to subdue me before to much harm was done.
The thing that rattles my soul the most though, was the images...the feelings i saw while it was inside me. I saw myself in Ixias room engaged in combat with myself trying to choke the life out of my own body but then I realised much to my horror it wasnt me. I had been looking through Raifaels eyes, the eyes of the controling creature. I have sent letters to the Guvners and the Harmonium requesting an audiance to tell them of the occurance as well as provide a list of witness's that saw the entity take control of me.
I know I can right the wrong, I can make sure he doesnt pay for something he didnt do. I know now he was possesed when he torched the Sensbane manor and killed all those people because if he attacked me BEFORE those events and he was possesed then it is highly likely the creature made him do all of those otherh horrid things. I did not see any images of the first attack, when Raifael assaulted me in the dark ally ways which tells me he is at least guilt of commit that assault....
I do not like him, I do loathe him so much but it goes against everything I stand for to watch a man rot in prison for something he didnt do even if i personally do not like him or things he has done in the past. I will make sure he sentence is over ruled or at least lessoned and when he gets out of prison I plan on hunting this beast down and slaying it by any means nessicary.
I have some theories about how to do so...this entity is chaotic and evil but I bet it cannot contend with the swirling chaos inside the mind of an elemental. I plan on letting the creature take me if i can find it, then trapping it inside the chaos of thoughts i have while inside my elemental forms and then containing the creature inside until it can be delt with....even if it means sacrificeing myself to do so.
This creature cannot be allowed to survive in the city....it must be stopped....balance must be restored...

Time....
What is time?
Time is a means measurment like inches and feet, pounds and height.
How much time has passed?
I cannot measure accurately which leads me to believe it has been along TIME.
I have been on this plane, this grassy world for months maybe...no wait its been years I can tell.
My life in the great ring was chaotic to say the least. I tried to understand everything else when I should have been trying to understand myself and what has happened to me...let me think.
Wait...can I even think?.
...Harmonium
...Harmonium
...Chaos
...Indecision
...Battle
...Blood
...History and legends
...Betrayal
...False Accusations
...Atonement
..Bitter enemies...R...r...raifael
..Bitter love and a blind woman
...Ixia.....
...Forces of nature, earth and wind fire and water
...Yes I remember, alittle.
It has been along time since then, I remember why I came here.
I came here to contemplate, to think and to understand.
I guess I feel asleep.
It has been along time since Granite Stonejaw vanished with out a trace, simply vanishing into the wind as he was prone to do. He was known yes but being known and being cared about are two totally different things. He had vanished one night, his room emptied at the local inn and no farewell note left behind just...gone.
No one cared he knew he was most likely forgotten almost immediately, just another gust of astral wind blowing trash and dust around the city streets. In truth he didnt really go that far, people just didnt care enough to look to hard.
The night of his departure he had made his way to the tainted and grassy lands of Brux. A magnificant oak tree soon became a center peice for the twisted land one which occasionally sheds a few leaves here and there which in itself is not unusual for a tree, but to those who pay close attention would notice the leaves are wet and salty as if dunked in ocean water or perhaps cried on, and occasionally helpful items would drop from its branches to aid weary travelers. The lucky travelers would recieve helpful boons and assistance from mother nature when in proximity to the tree, though few suspected the tree to be the source of such aid.
I was forgotten though
It was ok though the years in stillness and quiet contemplation have done him wonders.
As the years drew on the tree appeard to die and become petrified, the last of its leaves dieing and turning to brittle flakey things that blew away on the timid winds of the land.
Dead and forgotten
For years Granite spent in quiet contemplation and study, his spirit traveling abroad through what ever nature conduit he could find. The very act of sending his mind and spirit from his body had caused his mighty oaken form to wither and die.
It has been along time I think many years....something calls me back to my form, I hope it is still there although I realise it is probably old and dieing if not dead already but that is ok for nature renews
Those who frequent Brux, if they have paid attention to this once beautiful oaken tree would notice that its drooping branches and dried bark begins to look different though most cannot tell why. The most noticable difference on this tree is the single cluster of bright leaves on one of its branches, four leaves huddle closely together one orange one brown one blue and one white and those who pass close to old petrified tree can pick up the smell of freshly cut grass and morning dew and they can also feel the petrified tree giving off a soft reassuring glow.
It seems this tree, is not quite dead after all.
Wait...can I even think?.

...Yes I remember, alittle.

A wild gust of wind suddenly swirls around the lifeless tree, its dull grey color shimmers and brigthens as if growing younger or perhaps renewed. The ground heaves as roots dug deep pry themselves from the lands of Brux and the tree begins to shamble toward the nearby portal. The tree moves slowly and appears to onlookers to actually be shrinking, its limbs becoming arms and legs and the top of the tree forming into a hooded skull. The tree finally finished transforming into an incredibly humanoid shape outfitted in a silver grey outfit which briskly steps through the portal leaving white, blue orange and brown leaf clusters with every footstep.
Granite Stonejaw steps through the portal into sigil after so many years of contemplation and solitue.
