I packed only the bare essentials; my bow, a few expensive reagents, a couple of scroll cases of powerful scrolls. I didn't even look around to try find some arrows, easy to get later anyways. As an afterthought I picked with me what was left of the gold, not much. Roughly packing it all in a backpack and running out the door into the thick smell of the hive.

Only after I had walked most of the way to the clerks ward did I feel a bit safer, and could stop shaking. I kept looking over my shoulder however, just in case. Walking until my feet hurt, I decided I needed to get together some money soon. The gold I took wouldn't last long, especially after getting some armor to protect myself and some arrows for my bow.

When I finally sat down and took a deep breath though, it felt exhilarating. Things would be different from now on.
