Name: Teg
Gender: Male
Race: Minotaur
Age: 32
Profession: Uh.. technically speaking, I guess Teg is a mugger by profession? He spends most of his time going into other creature's home plane for the purpose of attacking them and taking their valuables to pay for what he needs in Sigil. So.. yeah. Mugger.
Languages: He's been learning Common in Sigil and he's pretty much got a handle on it at this point. He is still working on speaking and forming the words properly though. His limit may be a few easy words and gestures to help out with explaining their full intent.
Accent: Not really an accent but more in the sense that his muzzle is not quite shaped properly for making some of the sounds used in Common speech. He does his best but some of his annunciations are likely very rough.
Physical Information
Height: 8'2''
Weight: 980
Body build: Teg is very thick bodied. He is pretty heavily muscled, though more in a power lifter's type bulk rather than a body builder's sculpted muscular definition. I'd just say he's physically beefy but I'm not sure I could handle the implicit pun.
Skin type: His fur is coarse around his hands, hooves, and horns. The closer the fur gets towards the center of his body the shorter and softer it is. The fluff oh his stomach, chest, and throat is downy and a lighter shade of gray than the rest of his pelt.
Hair style: Rather than a style he is simply fastidious within reason. He tends to keep himself well groomed and clean when not tramping around in a devil filled swamp or the sewers under the city. He may be a bestial humanoid, but he's definitely not an animal.
Scars: No major scars that have stories behind them. At least not yet. Though he does carry numerous cuts, scrapes, and abrasions from his venturing into combat on the regular. Especially given that he uses little but his fur for protection.
Tattoos: A magical strength enhancing tattoo on his right shoulder just above the bicep.
Coloring:
- Hair: His pelt is a gently scaling color of gray. Eyes: Brown and very equine in shape. Skin: It is natural pink skin under the gray fur though it does go to a grayish black at his nose. [/li]
Alignment: Chaotic/Neutral
Philosophy: His intellectual capacity is fairly low so his view is limited mostly to what is currently happening to him. His standards in this area are usually a mix of what he has observed around him and a few instinctual reactions to situations as they occur.
Deity/Beliefs: On his home plane Zeus was the only name Teg was aware of of in relation to a god. Though his idea of a god is just some being or notion that has power over him so it could also apply to a lot of things. As far as Teg could tell, Zeus never seemed inclined to explain any manner of dogma to Teg, so he has no major set religious beliefs.
Personality:
- Sociable Teg has a natural instinct towards being part of a group. When there is an option available he typically chooses to be around other creatures and to share in their social interactions. Though he has little to add to most discussions that occur around him, he finds it pleasing to hover nearby and listen when those talking with let him. Also, when venturing out into the planes he will usually try and find others to accompany him and especially appreciates being sought out for the same reason. Scent Orientated Of all his senses, his ability to discern and collect scents is likely one of the most potent. Meeting a new person, going to a new place, finding a new item of some sort, finding the proper path to follow, or locating his friends and enemies. In every case his ability to detect distinct scents is paramount in his judgement of the world around him. Names, especially long ones can be an issue for him to remember, but he never forgets a scent no matter how complex. He has noticed though, that some individuals find it rude to be sniffed thus he tries not to make a production of smelling people. Animalistic Classifications Teg classifies entities he encounters into three distinct categories. Enemies, safe things, and herd members. Enemies get attacked on sight, usually without further thought on the matter. Safe things are between ok to good to be around. Usually just things that don't try and hurt you. And herd members, who are entities that are to be protected and tended to. His distinctions between the three are somewhat simplistic but he currently lacks the mental capacity to break out of this framework of perspective. Additionally, when creatures in the latter two categories do not quite "get along" it tends to confuse him significantly. Tactile Nature Very likely due to his animalistic nature, Teg is a very tactile creature in cases when it is socially acceptable to interact in this way. When he is comfortable with those around him he is a unusually "touchy" individual. ( Not in a creepy way though. Or, any more than casually touching someone is creepy. )Though as of late, he has somewhat suppressed this part of his nature due to a few poor encounters. As it turns out, despite being very 'cute' by his judgement, small dragons do not appreciate being petted by random Minotaurs. This confuses Teg, but he has been working up his confidence to try try again. Outside of dragons he has on occasion forgotten to restrain himself here and there. So far, most non dragons seem ok with this. Ignorance is Bliss While not entirely stupid, Teg is certainly ignorant of many things. Most notably the politics, intrigue, and depressing outlooks expressed by those in the city. Nearly all of the passive aggressiveness and jaded purview based tones expressed tend to fly right over his horns. As a result, he is a fairly upbeat individual in regard to dealing with others. Even those who are naturally bleak and macabre. Those around him can count on Teg to not bother with such complexities and just be a simple kind of Min(otaur). Battle Zeal Everyone needs a source of joy in their life and Teg's is combat. The simple beauty of swinging a big stick with a heavy shaped metal thing on it towards another thing you want to kill is pretty much the meaning of life. In fact, Teg has a tendency to lose himself in the thrill of the fight. This leads to him often throwing himself into the largest group of enemies on the battle field and hewing with all his might. Normally this works fairly well but it can be troublesome while working with others. Group tactics some times encounter significant problems when dealing with factors such as Minotaruian Battle Zeal. [/li]
Gear: When in a town or a populated location he tends to wear harness leathers. They provide a good tether for carrying his axes, equipment pouches, and jink bags. He also thinks they look rather nice on him.
He found a very nifty, if somewhat tattered, tricorn hat which he has taken to wearing when around others. Simply finding a hat that could be worn without his horns getting in the way was both amusing and surprising to him. (not visible on the game model but he usually has it on in town) Dressed in hat and leathers he figures he is a very fetching specimen of a Minotaur.
Teg has taken to carrying around two large axes regularly and is loath to go anywhere without them. One is headed in Cold Iron, the other in Alchemical Silver. He differentiates between them by having named them Axe, and Shiny Axe.
General Health: Teg is healthy and still fairly young for a member of his race. As of yet there is little that keeps him from throwing himself horns and headlong into combat when the occasion arises.
Favorite Drink: Having spent most of his life just drinking water it is what he generally chooses when at a bar or Inn. It is possible someone will introduce him to alcohol at some point and this may change.. but really.. who would want a drunk Minotaur stomping around causing collateral damage?
Weaknesses: Teg's primary weaknesses are Magic and Gullibility.
In regards to magic the issue revolves around him being unable to make horns or tails of it. He barely understand the concept of magic to any useful degree and most of it unsettles him. While not outright afraid of it he is definitely wary unless the the individual casting a spell is well known to him. In a group of enemies, he will often tackle the one casting spells first. Be that useful or not to the overall group tactic.
In addition, while he is not entirely ungrounded in thought, as far as below the surface concepts of philosophical right and wrong go, Teg is extremely inept in his decision making process. There are a few things he understands to be roughly along set lines of good or bad, but by and large he could fairly easily be influenced in any direction. His gullibility has so far been a non issue, but it is a weakness of sorts that may end up getting him into trouble further down the line.
