Weaknesses: A complete inability to accept that some people are just evil beyond redemption. A liability in a party as when facing a group of devils from the lower hells she may decide to try and stop the fighting by organizing a discussion circle where the devils can let it all out about how their masters mistreat them and what a hard life they have. She is also highly innocent about life in the real world.

Background:
Born to a very wealthy family, parents Chastity and Erik Sunshine, a noble family stretching back many generations. She wanted for nothing although her parents being very devout worshipers of Freya believed in showing love for their child was more important that "things".
At a young age Purity was sent to school at a temple of Freya and her parents hoped that she would enter the priesthood.
However, one day she witnessed an old man being beaten by some thugs (until this time she had been sheltered from seeing such acts and as such was quite a traumatic event for her) and resolved that she would become a defender of the weak. She petitioned to join the Valkyries (Paladins of Freya), and kept pressuring the Matron Mother of the Priesthood until she gave in and allowed it. Everyone hoped that she would not enjoy the martial life and return to her studies, but Purity found she enjoyed the physical demands of the training and the comradeship of arms, although she did disprove of some of her fellow Valkyrie's tendencies to think that evil should be beaten down without trying to help them first.
Finally upon her 18th Birthday she graduated as a fully fledged Valkyrie and was offered the job as Temple Guard. This was offered to her because both her parents and the high priestess were very worried about how long she would last in the real world. However, Purity felt the calling of her Lady to go out into the world and spread the word of peace, love, and harmony, and rejected the offer and set out before her parents could make an appearance and try and stop her.

Dear Diary,

What an amazing start to my adventures and what an opportunity I have been given to be the instrument of my Lady.

First day out of the temple and the journey south was quite uneventful. However, in the evening I stopped to make camp and made my devotions. I had hoped my Lady would give me a sign, and at first nothing.

But then, as I was preparing to oil my blade a handsome stranger entered the camp. "Good Evening to you Purity Sunshine" he said. I was amazed that he knew my name and I welcomed him to my camp. He sat down opposite me on the other side of my campfire. The flames danced in his eyes, and I must admit he had the most wonderful eyes and a smile that made me weak at the knees.

He asked me about my plans, what I wanted to do, and I replied to him that I was out to fight tyranny and injustice wherever I could and to bring peace and love to the world. He smiled at this, a private but wonderful smile. I must admit I found myself attracted to this handsome stranger.

After a little more talk he made me an offer. He said he could send me to a place where injustice and villainy were rife. Where they were crying out for someone to teach them about peace and love and happiness. I naturally accepted this wonderful opportunity and took it to be my Lady's doing. He told me to gather my arms and step into the fire. I was worried, but he assured me this was the way, and that he would protect me from the fire's flames.

As I stepped into the flames I indeed felt no heat, instead only a cool warmth that penetrated into my soul. I felt myself fading and cried out "Wait! I never asked you your name!" and just before he completely faded from my sight I heard him say:

"I am Loki"

Dear Diary,

Well, Loki. I guess I am the target of one of his pranks. If there was every a young man that needed his bottom spanking it would be him. Our stories in the temple about Loki and his tricks are less than complementary to the say the least. Regardless, while he may have thought he was doing me a disservice, I feel he actually has provided me with a fantastic opportunity.

He transported me to Sigil, the city at the center of the the planes, which I have read about in some of our temple's more esoteric tomes and generally not accepted into our canon lore. From here I can reach the heavens or descend into the hells, and the city itself is a hotbed of sin and debauchary with poor souls just crying out for some love and attention.

I met a poor troubled Orc today by the name of Vorgazer and I sat with him for some time trying to help him with his problems and asking about his troubled childhood. He was crude but I felt this was just cover for his gentle interior. At the end he asked me for help. A poor hungry child was in need of some special berries that were being guarded by some evil people. I naturally offered my assistance.

Vorgazer took me to slope of Mt Celestia where the evil beings had dared to step. I was amazed that the higher powers had not already took action and cleansed the land, but I took this as a sign that I was to be the instrument of this cleansing. Unfortunately I was overwhelmed and knocked unconcious and then next thing was I found myself back in Sigil. Better luck next time....

Dear Diary,

Well, it has been an interesting few days here and got a lot to write down.

After my little adventure with Vorgazar, who is such a sweetie pie, I made some explorations around the city and made more friends. A Tiefling warlock called Oubliette showed me around some of the planes. We are already firm friends although she is troubled by her powers and seems to have some difficulties keeping them in check. I pray for her every night now.

I found a nice dressmaker who made me up a white tunic which I find very nice to wear. It is a bit revealing and some people have commented on it, but I do so love to show a bit of flesh and the breeze is nice. Perhaps I will visit her again soon and get some more clothes made up, perhaps something a little more restrained next time, although something more revealing... i suspect that would give Vorgazar a heart attack though.

Also met some more difficult people who I suspect may be on the path of darkness and I try to help them. After a bit of a chin-wag with Freya she gave me her blessing to try and help them although she was of the mind that a bit of a smite may be of more use, but she understands in Sigil this is not usually an option.

I found an entrance to some tunnels under Sigil which I had heard was a hotbed of undead and other creatures. While down here I met a nice young Paladin named Wes Draven. A really nice guy, and quite cute too. His order is known as the Knights of the Rose, which I think is absolutely wonderful. Must remember to discuss with Freya about renaming our order to something related to flowers.

While under Sigil with Wes we had an interesting and sad experience. We met a Lich and Vampire who sought our aid in tracking down an evildoer who was stealing the life-force from innocent people. Naturally we had our reservations about aiding such evil creatures, but we agreed that we would track down this evildoer for our own reasons. Wes seemed more interested in smiting him, but I wanted to help, so when we found him I did my best to convince him that he should give up this life of evil and convert to the worship of Freya and seek comfort in death. Unfortunately he refused and the head vampire who had turned up by this point killed him. It was such as sad event and it caused me to shed tears. I did also try my best to help the vampire lord see the error of his ways but he wouldn't listen either. Another troubled soul.

So many people in need of my help. Anyway, Wes was an absolute darling and since then have met him a few times and he is always such a gentleman. Maybe one day I will be able to set aside my arms and have a family. If so, it could be a man just like Wes who completes me.

Anyway, had a really strange and disturbing thing happen yesterday. While trying to help a pair of Tieflings with their problems I started to feel something strange. Strange voices, an evil presence, something wrong, I started to panic. I ran from this in blind panic, away from the market area and found myself in some back streets. Here I met a strange man in heavy armour who said he could help me. I was in such a state I agreed to follow him and he took me to a rooftop where he asked me about my wish to help others.

He said he had the power to grant my wishes. To give me the power to change this city and bring the word of Freya to all. To spread peace and love throughout Sigil. In return I would have to give up my dreams. I was such a wreck and the offer was tempting, but I pulled on my reserves of willpower and rejected the offer. I know that the easy path to power is usually the path of evil and I suspect he was some form of Demon or Devil trying to tempt me in order to steal my soul.

I left the encounter feeling exhausted but elated believing that I have foiled the plans of evil. The creature promised me that we would meet again. I hope that next time I will be stronger and maybe even I can offer this poor soul some help and teach it about love.

(OOC: Did some reading on the Shapers so know what they are now and reading DM_Duke's recent post makes some sense of the encounter... guess he was trying to recruit me, although for what reason not sure).

I'm now feeling a lot better and looking forward to getting back to work helping people with their problems.

PS: Almost forgot. Terribly embarrassing moments in the city yesterday before all the mess with the voices and strange man. Was at the Gymnasium having a swim and when I left the baths I forgot to get dressed, it was such nice weather and all. However, a nice couple pointed out that I was naked and I ran and clothed myself. I'm not ashamed to go around naked in the temple at home of course. There it is not a problem, but I know some people have problems with nudity.

Purity was upset. She had failed to with the Miss Cage contest as ordained by Freya.

On top of this, her lovely black cocktail dress had been burned by Fargul and Ym, leaving her naked on the stage.

It was time for prayer and to tell Freya about her failure.

"Freya hon, you there?"

"Hey Purity, I know, you don't need to tell me what a farce you made of the contest."

"But..."

"No buts Purity, i had my agents in the crowd, and by the way, that Bethya Starshine girl looks like good material. See if you can recruit her for me will you hon?"

"Youre not mad with me?" asked Purity.

"Mad? Not, how can i be mad with you? Annoyed that you didn't win for sure. You see Purity, the problem was, you were not yourself. You were too full of pride, telling everyone that you were ordained to win. This was wrong. You were meant to win it on your own merits for my glory, not rely on my glory to give you the merit.

I do expect better from you next time Purity. Don't rely on me to earn things for you, you must earn things for yourself.

Oh, and before I forget, party, as usual, Asgard, next week, see if you can bring that Bethya along with you. Later babe"

"Oh, right, later Freya"

Purity felt a little more chipper after her prayer to Freya and thought hard about Freya's words.

"Its that bloody Drakos... him and his arrogance must be rubbing off on me. Must spend less time with that man."
