"So my accounts begin. I found the portal leading to this plane between planes in some long abandoned corner of the Underdark, void from the light of day and deeper than Menzobarranzan itself. I admit, our efforts to amass our psionic energy made the task of finding this gateway far easier than we had formerly imagined. The multitude of thralls and slaves we had amassed over generations had surprisingly managed to locate the exact position of the tear between planes relatively easily and, to my astonishment, I discovered the transgretion between realms rather pleasing to the senses.

However, once seperated from the elder and my hive I found it quite unnerving, appearing within some dank depths, quite at home. I gathered myself and my resources, for the local inhabitants, gnolls, kobolds and goblins along with an arrangement of weak minded species seemed to populate the area making my task of linking to others all the more acceptable, no, pleasing as my mind was again filled with individual thoughts and memories. Once this task had been accomplished I sought to find a space of inhabitants for my operations.

The elder, along with the rest of my hive had set me a task, I was the one selected for travelling the planar barrier to gather information on other hives that existed, the scattered remains of our empire, so I might assess what changes had come to fruition between others of our kind. I was surprised, upon reaching the surface and meeting the face of Sigil, the city of doors, to discover that few of our kind lay in this 'purgatory', seperated from others. Seemingly a common-place activity for them here is slavery and 'assimilation', which does hold to our own decrees within the Underdark, a pleasent activity should one ask I.

Alas, with my personal hive gathered, a space in which was occupied by a band of brigands, now under my influence I have endured the task of gathering the required information on the various planes and the 'keys' which will enable me to traverse them. Oh, I do dread to think what the lesser races might fear upon realizing that an Illithid can enter these planes willingly, what images will be conjured in their simple minds, to place one of my kind in a position where the planes are open for me to explore.

My next endeavours shall be to expand my hive, reach out into the light and start my infiltration into the very heart of that which makes Sigil tick. I shall endeavour to scatter a few thralls into the variety of factions that hold presidence within this world and, in due time, open my arms to other Flayers, accepting them within my hive. Should the need require it and, with the successful infiltration of these factions, I shall then proceed to deliver a messenger to my hive back in Toril, and convince them that to move our populace here would benefit the restructure of our empire so long lost to the tyrannous paws of the Gith.

Yet, I think too far into the future. I have more mundane tasks that require my service such as the gathering of information. I shall first share thoughts with my kin, share information concerning our seperate paths in various primes in the hopes that we all may converge our resources and learn of a method in which we can muster our thoughts together, to fashion a 'make-shift' brain or conduit, in which we might serve thoughts between eachother willingly to accelerate our efforts and share our learnings. During this time I shall, of course, accumilate more thralls and slaves, considering Jink is the currency here, I could sell several on the open market to eventually serve me with the coin required to pose as a higher standing individual in human guise which would inevitably accelerate said process by a large percent.

I shall leave my scrawling as they are for now, I am certain, in the next few days, when more has been accomplished, I shall pick this old tome, a writing method of humans and other such lesser kin, up again and continue my thoughts on paper."

"I awoke from my slumber with the most unusual sensation. As my eyes flickered into seeing I could picture the emblem of an eye and my mind could not seem to fathom its meaning. Scanning the many tomes I had accrued in my time within Sigil I attempted to locate this emblem yet found nothing to suggest planar nor local origins. As the day progressed I contemplated this, sending forth the tendrils of my psionic reasoning to attept to understand the source of this emblem until eventually I discovered its source.

Another akin to myself, yet not, lingered in the darkness, gathering force as I had began to in the short time I have existed in this plane beyond planes. Pondering the possibility of this being another Illithid I attepted to reach out to whomever the leader of this collective may be if at all it was a collective and not another stray individual with a hidden agenda such as myself. However I fear I recieved nothing and so, upon gaining nothing, I sent forth a thrall to discover some of the hidden recesses of the Undersigil only to find, upon its return, that a village of some calibre lay in the depths.

So I shall endeavour to explore this place and, with great hope, discover this 'eye' assuming that the image I saw was a psionic imprint left by another with telepathic or psionic capabilities. I shall leave an emblum of psionic origins within the Undersigil, some distance from my hive of course, which should resonate a distinct frequency that Illithids shall recognize should this 'eye' ever discover it. With this they might use it a beacon to relate information to me and I in kind, a mutual resonator which purpose would be to link two minds through an ancient rite our people once used to connect hives and cities.

I admit my hope in establishing a connection with whatever this 'eye' might be though I fear I may be assuming this vision to be of truth without rationalizing yet I cannot prevent myself from displaying some enthusiasm in the prospect, maybe my younger self wishes to indulge his curiousity, something I can only experiment with to assess wether my instincts are correct."
