Mental Information
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
wrote:A Chaotic Neutral character is an individualist who follows his or her own heart, and generally shirks rules and traditions. Although Chaotic Neutral characters promote the ideals of freedom, it is their own freedom that comes first; good and evil come second to their need to be free. Chaotic Neutrals are free-spirited and do not enjoy the unnecessary suffering of others. A Chaotic Neutral character does not have to be an aimless wanderer; it may have a specific goal in mind, but its methods of achieving that goal are often disorganized, unorthodox, or entirely unpredictable. If a Chaotic Neutral joins a team, it is because that team's goals happen to coincide with its own at the moment, but it invariably resents taking orders and can be very selfish in its pursuit of personal goals.

A subset of Chaotic Neutral is: "strongly Chaotic Neutral", describing a character who behaves chaotically to the point of appearing insane. Characters of this type may regularly change their appearance and attitudes for the sake of change, and intentionally disrupt organizations for the sole reason of disrupting a lawful institution. This includes the Xaositects from the Planescape setting, and Hennet from the third edition Player's Handbook. In Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Chaotic Neutral was mistakenly assumed to refer to this subset.
Philosophy: Mathematical Xaositect
wrote: Chaos Theory #1 - Predictability In A Given Situation (by Hatcher Rhanyr)

"Because the multiverse is based on variables (according to most mathematical Xaoticians) and these variables fluctuate greatly in any given situation then therefor the results will drastically change from situation to situation.

"Now in accordance to this Xaositects embody this philosophy, so therefore they are unpredictable to the extreme. Even their unpredictability is unpredictable. In other words sometimes they act in a manner that you'd expect (being unpredictable because you expected a Xaositect to act unexpectedly). Then sometimes they act in a manner you wouldn't expect (still being unpredictable because you expected them to act expectedly.)

"If this is confusing to you, then good because that's what Chaos Theory is: Confusing. If you've ever taken a modron lecture on Logic and really understood it then you're a better blood than I am. You see, as things go, most bashers think in that happy little multiverse we call reality, where certain things happen as they should (i.e. falling when we jump out of a tree) but then sometimes the rules change (i.e. a berk lives when he's hit head on by a falling slaad). This is what you've got to keep in mind. How about this... Xaosmen display a high probability to to highly improbable things... In this way one can predict in general that any given action will be very hard to predict.

"Chaos is not about knowing what will happen, but rather what could possibly happen..."
Deity/Beliefs: The gods are nothing but randomly empowered entities. They are clearly powerful. Than again there is no solid reality, just the potential for reality. So is their power truly real, are they real, are any of us? The only thing that we can be sure of is the possibilities chaos may or may not generate.

Personality:
Gregarious: fond of company; sociable. friendly and welcoming.
Intellectual: engages in critical study, thought, and reflection in everything
Mischievous: causing or showing a fondness for causing trouble in a playful way.
Open Minded: willing to consider new ideas, nonjudgemental
Eccentric: a person of unconventional and slightly strange views or behavior.

His Back Story

Born the fourth son of the Baron Caleb Zaharia of Zoser Keep, Shaithis had a privileged upbringing. He was raised just outside of the great city of Orixis on the desert world of Hathor. The family keep was a defensive keep and first sight of civilization as people left the hostile desert. It functioned as a trade post as well which exposed Shaithis to several different cultures of his world.

With his other brothers being raised to be heirs and knights, Shaithis was placed under the care of a sage of whom was to teach him the works of the arcane. But a political situation of which young Saithis did not understand happened. Violence broke out as servants betrayed and warriors clashed. Saithis was, in haste during a lightening storm, magically port out backwards through both time and space to Sigil.

Custom Material Plane: Hathor

Note: While I am creating this world for my character's background please feel free to use it as your own. If you wish to make any major additions or adjustments please contact me first. Enjoy!

Influences: Dune, Tatooine, Ancient Egypt

Overview: Hathor is the one of the many moons circling the giant gas planet of Zaru. Zaru emits enough light to create life on two of its moons. Hathor is completely covered by sand and has no seas nor oceans in the traditional sense. Instead, vast spans of unstable sand floating on large bodies of water and, sometimes, lava stand between continents. The sea of Zexeses is a one of the more unique 'seas' as its conditions are known to create colorful flowing liquid glass from time to time. On the stable land masses are a few human dominate metropolises with little to nothing in-between. Rivers and caverns flow under the surface and are usually the main source of agriculture and industry. Water is considered the most precious of resources and the moon is plagued with violent lightening storms during its fall, tornado creating sand storms during its summer, and a lightless yet pleasant spring.
