Many who travel Brux lately will notice the land itself is unusually aggressive lately, earthquakes, massive growth explosions of grass and vines intent on choking the life out of travelers, random surges of elementals, substantial increases in the presence of hostile animals just to name a few occurances. The most prominant change is a massive voice that loudly and violently demands that anyone who decided to travel the planes simply "GET OUT" and if the travelers refuse then the wrath of nature falls upon them from elemental and animal alike.

The land has also become home to four powerful foes that respond to particuarly hardy or really skilled heros who attempt to defy the will of this mysterious entity. In the grasslands, buried under the ground are two stag beetles some thirty feet tall and almost as wide that unburrow and fall upon the particularly skilled or heavily armored heros in an attempt to drive the away.

The river that cuts the grove in half now runs much deeper, and has a dark disgusting oiley consistancy to it, and along the river in two spots where it runs deep, two incredibly old and powerful black dragons make their homes in the fetid, corrupted water.

Anyone with a connection to nature, either by class, or racial privialge like nymphs or dryads or satyrs or those of elemental bloodlines and other similiar beings who travel into the grove and especially near the massive radiant tree within it will hear a pained, tormented voice.

"P...l....ease....help....meeee! Pa....pa....parasite!

Mareth would likely encounter this sudden change in the land's behaviour on one
of her many trips to Brux. The Unseelie who have overrun the place in its normal
state offer her little challenge by this point, but as a member of the Seelie Court,
she is often seen in Brux fulfilling her obligations to the Court by quelling the tide
of the Unseelie.

Deadly-accurate and armed with a bow of dragonbone composite, the nymph's
spell-wreathed form would likely draw the ire of the gargantuan stag beetles with
a display of arcane prowess -- arrows which burst into lightning and strike true
against the most foul creatures of the multiverse.

If such large and formidable creatures do show themselves in Mareth's presence,
the seasoned explorer would give pause to their sudden presence on a plane she
visits twice weekly. Unwilling to proceed alone, her voice would lilt into an light,
airy chant. A dance-like gesture of her free hand would open a shimmering portal
beside her for a brief moment, which would close behind her as she passes.

This dimension door would place her adjacent to the portal back to Sigil, through
which she would promptly retreat in search of Trissa, Mareth's love and a strong,
stout-hearted paladin of Eberron's Silver Flame.

After the first encounter the Nymph and artificer Aleis had decided they would seek answers on the divine fruit from the very spirits of nature who likely tend to them. with a few hand gestures and a spoken phrase the nymph casts a planer shift for the two of them. From brux to Thelanis, the name the people of her prime had given to the fey court.

Odette was a sailor whom had a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Or the wrong place at the right time. Perhaps even the right place at the wrong time, depending on how one wished to look at it. Such is how she had ended up pulled into the Beastlands with a nymph, a dragonmarked, and a tiefling at Trissa's request, on the trail of viscous beasties that had attacked the Bazaar and the booming voice of a parasite that formed the ground they walked. Somehow her blade always found it's way into these situations. Dragons. . . . Why did it always have to be dragons?

Regardless, the bardess found herself pouring over books filled with things she knew absolutely nothing about. Query her on the pull of a rip, or the time period between tides and she'd have the answer for you in a jiff, but things to do with the natural world outside of that? Lacking in knowledge, but not in interest. Odette, however, was a woman who was quick on the uptake and knew how to use her resources well. Finding the "World Tree" couldn't be that hard. . . right? Argent would know, surely.

Thus began her research on the Sacred Acrons of Obad-Hai.

Jall met odette and had her explain what she and trissa and the others faced. she'd keep in touch to help. doesnt really want a ravaged brux near home.
