Sigil, The Lady's Ward:

At approximately 1600 (two hours or so before Sigil twilight) (about 1430 CST - GMT-6) the hue and cry went up amongst the well-to-do citizenry and Harmonium guards - a DRAGON loose in the city!

Rampaging about in one of the wealthier blocks of the City of Doors, a huge Red Dragon appeared, spreading fire and mayhem. Two squads of Harmonium fell to the maddened beast, and, finally, with the aid of a group of adventurers, they and the Harmonium slew the raging wyrm before more lives could be lost.

Several harmonium and citizenry were subsequently brought back by kindly clerics and adventurers. Rumored to be among the victims of the wyrm was one Richard Edward Blessing, chief aide of the Factol Duke Rowan Darkwood of the Fated. Fortunately, his two daughers and wife Melissa were raised. Lady Blessing is currently being treated for severe shock and catatonia at a Sigil sanitarium. Her two daughters are under the care of a kindly planewalker at the Foul Olde Spirit Inn.

Their infant son, Bryan Scott Blessing, could not be revived, and the prayers of all kind and goodly folk of the Lady's Ward is with the family at this time.

Several Dabus are on the scene and repairing the damaged villa, including rebuilding the western wall of the mansion, which had a large, gaping hole in the side. Harmonium are working against time, trying to collect evidence before the Dabus remove or obscure it; naturally not even the Harmonium will interfere with their work.

Liliara shakes her head sadly.

"Another innocent young life lost to the cage. But a dragon...I have heard only tales of the great beasts, an opportunity to see one! I wonder if that drunken sot of a priest has heard."

After the Dragon was felled, residents of the lower ward - always quick to seize upon an opportunity for profit - entered the Lady's Ward. They were easily able to avoid or step around the distracted Harmonium and the privately hired mercs and bodyguards of the wealthier residents.

A large mob started hacking up and slicing away pieces of the Dragon's carcass. Dragon meat being a known delicacy, hundreds of people will be eating it for weeks. Also present in this mob were workers hired by both the Foul Old Spirit Inn, Khazeet's, and the Spice Rack, who will be featuring Dragon Steaks and entree's on their menu's as long as the exotic meat lasts.

* A certain renowned Rashemi warrior poet, Kelth McEwan, covered in blood, and seen delivering some thundering slashes to the dragon, was also seen holding a speech to the residents of Lady's ward...attempting to rally them, alltogether try to "really believe" the child could be brought back...dark of it is that one of the fellow adventurers on the spot spoke of Sigil legend...combined effort to manipulate the Source and dish out a smack to reality....chant is that despite the speech was heart-touching...not a many of people offered aid...most people simply refused to believe in it*

* The Celestial lady Naya'il McEwan, wife of the aforementioned warrior poet, was seens working overtime to restore the lives lost...chant is she fainted in the end...and was seen being carried back to the inn by Kelth McEwan...*

*Mordechais point of view, and thoughts (that are kept in his head)*

I have to wonder the logic of this dragon, one of the poorest wards to choose, not far from Harmonium and Mercykillers, both formidable army forces nearby in the most secure ward. Must've been important thing to do, or it was acting irrationally.

It doesn't matter, for I got all I wanted of the thing. In midst of chaos, a single vial of blood of dragon came to my possession. All I will need for my vengeance.

Kelth McEwan, my vengeance is not far from now. I will make you see everything you care to crumble before you, like you made everything I cared crumble before me.

While the others had slain the dragon and rescued those inside the burning building, Naya'il had revived the two daughters and the wife, assisted by Mir to tend their wounds and help them rid themselves of the smoke in their lungs. She had seen Camthalion and Zadara seeing to the Harmonium guards who had fallen. Attempts to ressurect the young baby son had failed.

As the wife of Blessing was taken to the local Sanitarium, being in a catatonic state at the loss of her infant son and husband, Naya'il took charge of the two daughters leading them to the Inn and securing their care and comfort for the time being.

Returning to the burnt house with the dragon sized hole she had seen her husband, Kelth, attempt to rally the crowd to bring mass belief and faith to make another attempt to revive the baby. At first sceptical of Dom's suggestion, thinking it to be another of his 'jokes', she then added her own attempt to support Kelth by also making plea to the crowd but oddly this led to her fainting. As she was carried by Kelth back to the Inn, passersby may have caught her jumbled words about visions of a sign from Pelor, an old man and of feelings of fear and anger.

Chant on the street is the investigation seems to have stalled. After a few days in which the Dabus steadily rebuilt the stately Blessing Manor, open hostilities almost broke out between the Harmonium guarding the gutted Blessing Estate, and the Fated.

Seems the Harmonium have concluded that Sir Blessing himself must have been at fault. Evidence points to the great wyrm as having broken out of the manor, and not in, so obviously it was either accidently Summoned or held within the manor grounds by the Blessing themselves. Citing several laws, including Wreckless Endangerment of the Public at Large and Disturbing the Peace, the hardheads move to seize the property and what assets remain.

Naturally, this didn't go down very well with the Takers, who feel that not only is this an example of the Harmonium trying to gain what they didn't earn, but also that, if anyone had a right to the manor and goods within, it was the Fated. The right to tax it, at the very least!

A large party of powerful Fated appeared on the manor grounds and demanded entry, only to be denied by the Harmonium. Words flew. Accusations were made. Fists were raised. Only the appearance of a influential member of the Takers prevented words from turning into blows. Finally, they melted away, with many a grim look and uttered threat. This wasn't over, not by a long shot.

The two powerful factions have never had much love for one another, and this matter may indeed be the spark to the tinder of their mutual hatred. . .

One Fated was overheard to mutter " . . . and just what did happen to all the wealth in Blessing's private vault . . ?"
