It is with growing dismay that we of the Doomguard, in accord with our illustrious Factol, Pentar, look upon the City of Doors this day. A war is brewing within Sigil, and casualties are becoming more unavoidable with each passing hour, as the two most fanatical and unyielding of our Factions claw at one another's throats.
We must, regretfully, disown the recent actions of the Anarchists. Although often considered a boon by Us due to their support of individual rights and the propriety of the cycle of decay, their warlike footing and disregard for the safety of innocents cannot be condoned. With such being said, we must offer the security of the Doomguard's might to any who feel threatened by recent events and unwilling to trust their safety to Sigil's current supposed "keepers of the peace"; Doomlord Nagual will be administering a campsite upon the Armory grounds to tend to such unfortunates.
As for our misguided colleagues within the Harmonium, we fear that a warlike mindset is hardly the proper response to their recent regrettable loss, although seemingly much in character considering their long-held persecution of groups they consider undesirable, such as our brothers and sisters in the Free League. We fear that when taking this into consideration, it becomes more and more likely that our beloved city will devolve into a state of war, threatening the safety of all its inhabitants regardless of their own position upon the matters at hand, an outcome to be avoided at all costs.
Six centuries ago, in the aftermath of the Great Upheaval, the Doomguard was depended upon and trusted by the populace of Sigil to ensure the safety and protection of its inhabitants. By the duplicitous actions of the Harmonium, waging a war not only of swords and axes but of lies and slander, that position was wrested from our forebears. It was at that time our faction foreswore warlike hostilities within the cage, a long-standing precept of our order which gives recent events a worrisome context. Although we have long since forgiven the Harmonium this transgress, we fear their current actions, in support of an unnaturally enforced "order" which denies the natural cycle of entropy within any open system, are leading to the same violence and bloodshed they were responsible for those many years ago, and humbly offer our own services in their place should the need arise.
