She smiled warmly in surprise at the gesture.

"I should have known you followed the Broken God's teachings... I come bearing a suggestion, however, one that would first and foremost better ensure you and your people's safety from some vicious mind's savagery. A year or so ago, the Harmonium opened a soup kitchen in the Hive, where we have a few locals in employ right now; it has seen limited success though, but if a kind man of such repute as you could perhaps consider helping us out with their good word or presence, I'm sure it could pick up and expand a lot more, with the resources the Harmonium could grant us. He nods at Anna's words. "I understand. I don't suppose it would matter if I said I can arrange for protection?"

These people cannot be made to travel across dangerous territories to find that outpost. They live here and need help here. Revolution teaches us that people need to be helped where they live. Just like the centralization of government starves the outer communities from things they truly need, so does the centralization of services. Too many in one place for too many spread out. Perhaps your people could divert some of their supplies to this place and some of the other kitchens in the Hive? It might go a long way to show the people you’re not their enemy.”

A few more bowls are filled, one he places in NyÂ’s hands

“Eat… the day is long from over and you will need to keep up”.
She gracefully accepts the offered soup, and continues to discuss with David if he did not prove busy.

"You do make a find point sir David... would you perhaps consider if we instead moved our operations nearby, or perhaps even to you? Now, I understand the implications, so please hear me out.

First and foremost, our goal is to help these poor people here, in the name of peace; we do not want to parade into your house in red armor and banners high, but be much more discreet. We can bring you supplies in the cover of darkness, medical tools and fresh foods, so you can better help these poor souls. Second, we can also assign a few guardsmen here, but not in a way that they'd get noticed... I'll handpick the most calm mannered men and women who do not need to flash weapons to get the job done, preferably those that can blend in here without a hassle.

Does that sound reasonable, my dear fellow of the Rack?"

David would smile and continue, Dace would hear him speaking to Ny.

“I doubt your people would make true to your offer, child. The Triad… protecting a Revolutionary. Not something I imagine they’d do.

No… perhaps we’ll simply try to get supplies. That would help enough. We must also not spend too many resources on this place. I can manage with most needs. Spread them out, help as many as you can… just do it carefully. The people will not trust those wearing your badges… they must go in as people… not as Factionaries. A few more small kitchens… feed them without judgment or question. Simple help.”

He turns to Dace

“Ilmater will see to my protection whether it is here… or whether it is with him.”

//I need to ask as it will matter later; are either Dace or Ny wearing anything that suggests which Factions they belong to?

\\ Dace is NOT in uniform, no. He's in comparatively simple and beat up looking clothing with a padded coat, wearing a hood and not even carrying his usual sword (though he does have a short sword hanging off his belt. He has his badge, but its tucked away and out of sight.

"All due respect sir," He says to David. "What about everyone else? In any case, you misunderstand.... I don't mean to suggest flag waving guards. Whether in a faction or not, there are some who would be glad to defend this place without waving a flag. "

He wipes his hands on the apron, approaching David. "As for the man using your name in the recent killings... are you not concerned about him doing it again? About what his claims may do to your cause?"

She nods, smiling sincerely at the wise words.

"You speak truth on many levels, but it can never hurt to try, no? I will take my leave of you now, and try to see what assistance I can muster to your cause; I hope the honesty and sincerity with which you conduct matters here will soften my more noble commanders' hearts.... that is of course, if you do not need my help here anymore for the day."

If she is no longer required, she makes her way out of the establishment, but making sure to tell Dace one last thing before doing so.

"Your sincerity is touching, but I ask of you to let me handle this matter... I doubt Nilesia and her cadre will approve of what you're doing here, Namer, so best look out for yourself first."

//Midnight: She is wearing white healer's robes, and carrying a backpack full of medical supplies and tools, her badge is way below that luggage.//

He smiles warmly as Ny departs and turns to Dace

"What about everyone else? We have survived without the protection of the rest of the city this long. We will continue to do so until something happens. I see no need to act upon something that may, or may not, happen.

And what of the one killing because of me? I cannot stop him. I cannot decide for him about what he does. I will continue as I am and perhaps he will see the error of his ways. If not, that is between him and the heavens. To stop because of him would be to stop because anyone demands it or makes a threat. Once you bow to their whims... they control you. I will not be controlled by one as that."

He smiles again and hands Dace a clean cloth to help wipe his hands

He shrugs at Ny'leve's words, responding in a low voice. "Thanks for the heads up, but I'll take the chance."

Dace accepts the towel with a somewhat surprised- or baffled expression. "All due respect sir, you really believe that stopping a murderer would be bowing to whims?" he asks, trying not to sound confrontational. With a sigh, he continues. "I respect the intention sir, but... some men do need to be stopped before they hurt more along the way."

Later in the day, Dace watches the crowd file out of the shack, then turns to the father and daughter duo. "If some of these people are looking for steady work, I may be able to help with that in the near future." He offers a faint smile. "Don't worry... not in a faction or the like."

He would smile at the offer

"That is for them to decide, not me. Ask them yourself when you are ready. As for your assassin... I know not who it is. There is little I can do abou it."

Work would continue until after it was dark. Luck would have it, there was food left over so David sat and quietly ate before night prayers and sleep.
