*Athiran settles down on a bench within the lower ward, he glanced around with a grin on his face and opened a book he'd begin to write in.*

It is indisputable that the Gods are credited with creation. In cluster of races, there is a diety distinguished with creation. Each race has their own Pantheon, responsible with the creation with a race, and this is taught so that these creatures worship the deities responsible for their creation. It makes sense, if a power designed you, then you show gratitude for it.

Now, I want to say this. The gods are not responsible for creation. That is right, I hope this is nips your attention cutters. The Athar teach that the gods are frauds, that they manipulate you into believing they are the source of creation, when in truth, like the majority of creatures, they were just as we are. These Deities came to power in some method, and then through that power - they were required for belief, for worship, or they'd die.

Now, by now you'll be thinking this is none-sense, and that I am speaking from my arse, but consider this carefully. We will begin with the concept of "divine power." This "gift" given to clerics, and servants to gods. Priest, clerics, the lot of them. They show that a god plays an active roll with their subjects, rewarding them with power for varies reasons: the good ones to assist their people, and the darker ones, for more corrupt ambitions.

It is believed that only a servant to a god gets this power, and that is it special, but is it? There are those who are able to drawl upon divine power without the need of a god. That is right, these people drawl upon the same energy as a god, and yet do not need one. These same people are hunted, and killed out because if it, scorned by good deities for being vile, and darker ones for being what they are.

Now, you may question what I have told you, and you may also say that this doesn't disprove the gods as divine creators, and I would say no. This is only the beginning of a point, one I will continue now.

GODS DIE!

That is right, gods can die. Throughout history there have been gods that have disappeared, for those of Toril there was Mykrul, the god of the dead, Cyric and then Kelemvor. Why the change in the gods of death? The answer to this is quiet simple, they were replaced. One powerful individual over took another. Just like a king is replaced by a stronger one, though not always actually stronger.

Not only can gods kill each other, they can also die without beliefs, and those who gain power from a deity are those responsible for ensuring followers remain followers. Through force, or otherwise. That is the real reason those who can drawl divine energy are hunted, because if it is well known it is possible, then it becomes clear that clerics are really serve as the secret guards, enforcing obedience.

Consider this, granting powers takes power. When the deities give a subject power, they lose some of their own. That is why a good deity does not simply help all their followers that ask for it. They are all selfish, and manipulative.

It is unclear where the line begins, and ends. However, what is certain is that the Gods are not the source of creation. Not when the power they yield is something that anyone with talent, and with the means, can attain their self. A true god would be something conceive-able, a true creator would not require believe to sustain itself.

Within this book, I will attach in information of Tarragon, and the Necroalchemist. The Athar have varies ways to explain different questions. Such as, how when an elf dies, or a human, they go to the land of their diety. There are interesting reasons for it as well. However, these I won't write about myself. Those who are interested will enjoy the reading, but I will continue explain about the gods.
