The adventures had freed the lass from her enchantments yet skimmed on the bill for the armor. Something a merchant frowns upon though some thing typically prepared for. None had taken note of what he had said when she ran off and none were willing to pay for the armor.
"well guess she is going inta the book, Donna worry lad will retrieve er...donna feel pity em get'n mercy".
As the adventures bickered about who would get to chase a skirt or honor was enough to woo said woman. He went about his scrying to find the gem he had put inside that armor to make it easier to find. It did not take long before he found the shanty house the lad was staying in with the lass who loved him for his coin.
her sobs of mixed with words about how this was just a summer home she figured, he was famous after all. The lads words cut short with a pummel to the head. Her meal ticket down, shiv looked her over fear starting to flow in.
"this ...this armor protects me".
"aye lass....from magic ta ya mind....though ya dinna pay...'n I seek ta retrieve...'n donna offer protection from suffer'n ya 'bout ta endure...".
Before she could dash a hand of force pushed her down then a click of a wand brought silence to the house. he bound the lad up then put him so he could see shiv's art work. Making sure the lad was well awake and able to take in the full horror before him.
With his work done he put the armor back in a bag, then used a scroll to turn the woman's corpse into ash. Slowly he walked over to the lad putting a gag over his mouth. He dismissed the silence spell to whisper in the lad's ear.
"ya a great writer....sing ta me ya songs of sorrow...'n know no body...no foul...ya word ta mine...'n if'n ya speak 'gainst me....I can bring ya suffer'n ta 'n art form...."
Patting the lads face gently he knocked him out again untying him leaving to return to the market. Noticing the hero's still bickering about honor and who to serve as a her protector. He tried not to laugh, how could they prove to be hers when they ignored his promise of death for just three thousand jink. It was interesting how much a life was worth, or what people truly valued.

//he did ask for it back if not willing to pay. He has zero value on life outside of those useful or who he cares about. The NPC ran off with them and DM gave okay shiv killing her. Once she ran and no one was willing to pay and her would be groom was flat broke. He saw little value in her living though much amusement and fun in slaying her and having her broke bastard watch.
Animus might not know shiv's view on folk or though that was the end of it as she parted. Though he does know he was more willing to sell a cursed mirror for 200jink then pay 500 to see its true ability.
also a little meta here his alignment is NE. One reason his voice set is what it is "I want to see....suffering" fits him very well. :D
and shiv is meant to not be understood half the time or when he says something to be taken multiple ways its how he is. I do decode it for folks some times in tells though that does depend on how well /often they deal with him. or if they are a rogue with theives cant.
*starts hoping for a bleak bard wandering town speaking of horrors*
