S.i.g.i.s. Horizon - Investigative Journalist

[*One hundred years of hunger]

The journalist gets up promptly to greet the illithid in a very human way, offering her hand for the shaking, she also makes a focused effort to scramble her thoughts as to keep what she knows to herself. Not a first time she's in touch with the mindflayer kind.

"Cailynn Horizon of the S.I.G.I.S., thank you for meeting me with such a short notice! I have pertained some information about the recent-ish run-by bombing of the Khazeets bar, where three Mercykillers were harmed. I would like to cross reference what we know so that the truth can be presented objectively. And the kind gentleman here seems to think that you're somewhat of an expert on the matter or at least part of the said investigation."

[*Knolden]

Noristant Shakes her hand and looks somewhat perplexed.

Greetings miss i have been told i am here to take your statement but i was not a witness to the Bombing at Khazeets nor at this time directly involved. I would like to take down what you have to say however and i will then ask my superiors to fetch someone more directly involved afterwards.



Noristant looks a little apologetic and confused at this point and sends a guard to inquire for a more directly involved officer.

[*Midnight]

The man behind the desk looks up at the conversation.

"You misunderstand Notary. The lady is here to tell you about what happened, not to question you. There is an interview room down the hall."

[*One hundred years of hunger]

She snickers "No no, the notary got it quite right. I'm not here to give a statement or report an incident. I'm here to exchange information. Look I am not in a journalism business for charity, I need story material to get paid, and that requires exclusives and information. I was lead to believe by the Red Death informant that you'd have an investigation underway regarding the case, and I'm curious as to the suspects and leads the Harmonium has so I can follow it up."

Promptly she also continues "Also before you get any hissyfit ideas of imposing information out of me, I know fully well my rights as a SIGIS journalist, and I am in no liberty of tattletaling my sources or I'll be out of business before the Dabus can rebus an arrow off the target and a steak. Please do get an investigator whom knows something about the case so we can get to business. I won't obstruct your investigation and I will tell what I know, minus the sources but if you wish future co-operation of equal quality you'll want to take my offer."

[*Midnight]

Something about the woman's snickering seems to irk The Measure. He seems to want rid of her.

"You will give a statement to Notary Noristant. Based upon the quality of the information you provide we will consider a working long term relationship."

She rolls her quill through her fingers and points with the tip of it toward the ranking member in the room, the brown playful eyes fixed on the measure. "You could use some positive public relations I've noticed, I'm sure we can fix a deal if we start on good foundations rather than this guilty before innocence bit. The least you could do to me is to get someone from the investigative team to participate the conversation so I don't have to repeat myself and we'll all get that bit less headache." she takes a seat and relaxes, crossing her legs on a casual manner to continue.

"I know the drill of do as we say, not as we do your faction seems to be very keen to put into the minds of everyone. I'm not asking for jink, or trying to inconvenience you in any substantial way... but is it not a standard practice to have the actual investigator to take a statement if you already do have an investigation going, just so they may be able to make correlations between facts they already know and can give as well as know which questions to ask?"

Snaps her fingers "Unless there's no investigation going? Now would that not be interesting, hm?"
