"Right. Right! Let's do this!" A low growl. Karan looks around, crouching. His hands grasp the dirt he is standing on. Clawing, ready to pounce. "I can feel it!" Another growl. "Any moment now!" The githzerai spins around, his hands planted on the ground. The fur coating his back and the way he moves makes the man resemble a monkey who is ready for a fight. Sharp teeth.

He seems to really get into it. Makes one wonder whether the githzerai had animal instincts to begin with. It is not inconceivable, probably! He starts walking on all fours, making circles around the camp while making small leaps back and forth. A snarl, followed by a spin! Sudden movements seem to be his thing. And rolling.

Ultimately, nothing. Karan bounces around for a while, trying to work himself up. There is no change, except that the man is now laying on his back. He is breathing heavily, exhausted by the effort.

Altair watches Karan as he bounces around, confused at the man's antics. Even for an afflicted, it shouldn't involve all that much effort. Or growling. So why was he hopping around like a monkey?

"Oh sod me!" The thought comes to Altair like the snap of a rubber band, as he starts swearing profusely. "I c'mpletely pikin' fergot abou' jungle fever!" He groans, putting a muddy paw to his forehead. "Two weeks in this place? Sod me, that's gonna ruin th' 'ole fing! Guys... We got a problem."

Some few moments after Karan's exhibition of bounding, flopping, and growling about the campsite, there's a groan and a rustling from inside Vyse's tent. The bleary eyed bard pokes his ashen head from the opening of his shelter and surveys the scene, with his squinting, golden eye flinching at the relentless rainfall. A second gravely grunt sounds from the tiefling as his ruddy mug disappears once more behind the flaps of the canvas canopy.

A few measures later Vyse emerges from his tent and rocks onto his toes, arms lifted overhead as he gives a great big stretch and a sustained, dull yawn. Lips smacking sleepily a couple times his golden gaze pans the other three before landing on Altair. "Problem? What k-kind of problem?" The bard queries, his ruddy hand lifted to scratch at the back of his pointed ear, and as he does, one of his feet begins to lightly slap against the soggy ground almost as a reflex.

Watching the spectacle from a perch on a flat rock near his tent, he seems vaguely amused until an realization dawns on his own features. "Altair..? Did you not say that this place inhibits your own ability to change forms?" Hopping to his feet with a look of moderate alarm, He turns to the werewolf. "Wait. A fever? Are we going to come down with some sort of illness? T-that would have been nice to warn us about!"

"Nah like... 's a nickname. It's th' same sort o' fing wot keeps me from shape shiftin'. I allus f'get 'cos it doesn' affect me, seein' as I'm already a beast." Altair shakes his head, annoyed at having forgotten.

"It's kinda th' Beastland's way o' makin' sure people wot don' belong don' stick around too long. Longer y'stay it'll... well, it'll change ya. Th' longer you stay, th' more o' an animal y'get t'be. Ugh... Maybe it ain't too late t' shift this operation? 'Ere I wos finkin' we'd got a perfec' place too. Anywhere else'd 'ave people 'oo'd be in danger... Ideas, anyberk?"

"The Cage?" Karan suggests with a hopeful grin.

*Pepper steps out of her tent and yawns.*

"Wos all the racket about? Did ya start without me?"

*Runs back into her tent to grab her writing supplies. The Plane has only just caused her to start sprouting what looks like a set of fox ears. Those definitely weren't there the night before.*

"Ya know, we could always try the beach. There's even a cave close by."

"The beach? Y-You mean i-in Elysium?" Vyse asks, his golden gaze swinging to Pepper. "I wager m-mucking about w-with this sort of thing i-in celestial country might garner some u-un-unwanted atten-t i o n..."

The bard's words tumble slowly from his lips as the thought completes itself, his focus shifting as his ears perk at something. A short beat passes, and his amber iris darts back towards his tent just in time to spy a tiny flash of gray scurrying from his tent and dashing up one of the arching roots of the enormous nearby trees. The culprit, a beady eyed sugar glider, stood perched at the apex of the wooden bow. Having seized a chunk of jerky from the bard's belongings, the tiny thief nibbled away, almost tauntingly, as though it were listening to the conversation and enjoying a snack.

With a sudden start, the bard bolted after the minute marsupial, barking a gruff "Hey!" after it as it took the cue to flee with its spoils. Booted feet kicking up muddy earth and soggy vegetation in his wake, Vyse vaulted the root, treading on all fours rather gracefully for a few beats and ducking the next arching root before righting himself. However, the tiefling found himself bouncing excitedly, and wholly focused on his potential prey as it scampered and scaled the side of the great tree.

The ruddy fellow's heart drummed an ancient and instinctual cadence as he stood, ready amidst the thrill of pursuit, wheeling around the wide trunk of the towering tree to follow his target as it ascended higher still. "Hey! C'mon!" he barked once more, his quarry the crimson tiefer's only consideration. Just then, the sugar glider kicked away from the coarse bark it was climbing and spread it's limbs wide, floating off and away towards the next thicket of trees and foliage.

Without second though, Vyse bounded in pursuit, glancing up to track the gray glider as he hurtled branches and logs, weaving gracefully between saplings and roots. The soggy sound of his hurried footfalls and the cacophony of crunching twigs and rustling leaves grew more distant by the moment as he was possessed by the hunt. In a sort few moments the bard had disappeared into the rainy depths of the jungle.

Not sure why it should matter much to them. It's not like it's Celestia and it is linked to the Beastlands which means it's not a far trip. It is also closely aligned to Krigala embodying the concept of good without being overly restricted by law nor dissipated by the randomness of chaos. We aren't performing an evil act and our subject is a volunteer. There are no suns, moons, or stars so the transformations can be controlled. Seems like it'd be a good candidate.

Altair tilted his head from side to side, considering the options. "Nah, Sigil's too populated. I'd be worried abou' it spreadin'. An' more importan'ly, Trissa findin' out. Elysium migh' do, 'side from bein' popular f' cuttahs t' visit. I wos 'opin' it migh' be easier fer Karan t' draw it out 'ere, vough. It ain't exactly easy fer afflicted t' do in th' firs' place, even when they know abou' it. I guess s'long as we don't run inta any zealous types we coul-- Oi! Vyse!"

He jumped from where he sat at Vyse's shout, looking on as the bard disappeared into the bushes. "Mate, no! Come back! ...Pike me, 'e's gone. You lot stay 'ere an' don' do anyfin' daft! An' keep an eye on Karan!" Coiling back on his haunches, Altair dashed off into the undergrowth, twigs snapping underpaw.
