With that, and after the remaining work has been wrapped up, he departs for the night, promising to return when he's able. He doesn't come by the next day, but does so by the following afternoon, bringing with him another donation for the shelter.

Dace returns a day after his last visit, offering his assistance once more.

Upon noticing David, he offers a slight smile. "Good to see you out again sir."

“I will make it a point to come by their kitchen on my way about the city. I will help as I can but my first priority is here. These people cannot be made to travel across dangerous territories to find that outpost. They live here and need help here. Revolution teaches us that people need to be helped where they live. Just like the centralization of government starves the outer communities from things they truly need, so does the centralization of services. Too many in one place for too many spread out. Perhaps your people could divert some of their supplies to this place and some of the other kitchens in the Hive? It might go a long way to show the people you’re not their enemy.”

A few more bowls are filled, one he places in NyÂ’s hands

“Eat… the day is long from over and you will need to keep up”.

Anna smiles at Dace

“My father will accept the burden of his guilt as he’s always done. It is Ilmaters way that we accept the suffering of others as our own. While you may not see the need for him to accept responsibility, he will continue to do so.

We will, of course, do what we can to prevent more violence… but we must also think of the people here. To make them a target by actively working with the enemies of those intent on killing… it’s a dangerous thing to do. A name, even if known, must be carefully handled…”

She continues to work as they talk.

A hooded woman in dirty white robes enters the house aswell, awaiting to speak with David it would seem, after claiming she wasnt here for help, but to offer help.

David would be busy tending to people who looked like they needed aid. Casting minor cure wounds on some, treating old wounds with clean bandages on others. Anna would continue to cook and feed those who would show up, empty bowls in hand. As Dace approached, he would be greeted with a smile from Anna and a serving Apron would be tossed into his hands. David would take cursory notice of his arrival but would continue his task as medic at the moment. Should anyone try to aid him, he would politely wave them awayÂ… it seems the locals have trust issues with strangers.

When the newer arrival stepped into the area Anna would look at her and simply state

“The food is hot and we’ve clean water. Tell me what you need and we’ll see that you get what we can give… if you’re here to speak with my father, you’ll have to wait. Make yourself useful over on the preparation counter”.

There she would find several meats and vegetable filled plates requiring cutting and preparing for the pot. The pace would be hectic and non-stop. Each time the pot would empty, Anna would refill it until there was nothing more to fill it with. After thirty or so minutes, David would walk over to the cook area after cleaning himself up. He would appear tired but would smile nonetheless.

“Greetings you two… welcome to my home”

When the newer arrival stepped into the area Anna would look at her and simply state

“The food is hot and we’ve clean water. Tell me what you need and we’ll see that you get what we can give… if you’re here to speak with my father, you’ll have to wait. Make yourself useful over on the preparation counter”.

“Greetings you two… welcome to my home”

The hooded woman nods, washes her hands and begins helping at kitchen counter with good spirits. She seems to smile all the way, taking great joy in the simple act of helping others. However, she kept an eye on the medical assistance and should there be a serious case, she'd go there and help whether they liked it or not, revealing a full array of professional tools, supplies and divine magic from beneath her robes.

Only when talking to David does she pull her hood down, revealing herself to be the one-eyed aasimar officer with whom he talked with a few days back. She however, would politely let Dace do the talking first, him being here before her afterall, and would only state her reason of being there afterwards.

"I hope the gods look down favourably today, sir David. I come hoping we could coordinate our efforts in helping these poor souls have happier days."

Dace refrains from distracting David after the greeting, choosing instead of keep his hood and apron on while he assists in the kitchen.

While in there, he whispers to Anna "we need to speak urgently... you're father is likely to be in danger thanks to some other berks from the Anarch movement."

Anna would continue to work while Dace spoke to her. Her face would only slightly change expression from current determination to expected dismay. It would seem she is used to worrying about DavidÂ’s safety and seems to accept the inevitability of what is going to happen to him.

“I would ask you to explain it to my father… but I would also tell you that I doubt you will dissuade him. He’s a stubborn old man…” She sighs slightly in muted defeat “Do what you can, sir, but don’t upset him too much. He’s already upset about the Hardhead getting deadbooked because of him.”

David would take Ny’s hands in his own and give her a small blessing of Ilmater and smile warmly to her “Just having your help here brings people peace. A person can travel great distances with only a few small steps”.

He ladles out a few more bowls of stew before turning his attention to Dace

“It is an odd sight seeing you here, sir… given your allegiances… but so long as the people are uninformed… I’ll not hold it against you"

he smiles politely, almost teasing.

“You look better in the Apron caring for the people than you do in the suit of red…”

He shakes his head. "First off, that officer didn't die because of your father. And don't let anyone even suggest that. He died because of a murderer trying to use his name as an excuse." He continues working as he speaks, keeping a low voice so as not to alert the others in the shelter. "I don't want to dissuade him of anything. Well...maybe the pin, but nothing else. I just want help in finding the guy who did this before he does it again and keeps slandering your old mans name." He pauses, struggling to get the gunk out of one of the pots. "The last thing anyone- even the ranks- wants to see is your dad being blamed while this monster stays free."

Finally getting rid of the gunk by resorting to a minor application of magic, he sets the pot aside and turns to her. "I'll speak to him too, but please.... if you hear anything about this, let me know so I can help him , and maybe avert more of these messes."
